AVSI-SW2 Flush Mount Interview Room Switch Installation and Usage Guide The AVSI-SW2 is a simple flush-mountable interview room switch assembly that can be used to start and stop recording equipment and power a notification sign with a single toggle of the switch. The switch is designed to fit into a 1-gang electrical box. All terminations to the switch are back of the assembly. Up (REC) On Off 12 Vdc Closed Down (STBY) Off On 0 Vdc Open Typical switch interconnection diagram with a DIGIOP EH2208 I/O board expansion card The +/- 12v Output contacts can be used to power a 12 Vdc device, such as a recording sign or strobe light. The DVR Trigger provides closed circuit contacts when the switch is in the REC position. This circuit function can be used with the alarm input of some DVRs to trigger recording, depending on the configuration of the DVR. Refer to your DVR reference manual for the configurable capabilities of its alarm inputs. 12 Vdc power supply 12 Vdc What you need • • • • • • RECORDING – + – DVR NOTES: 1. Always observer local electrical codes when installing and connecting this product to other devices. 2. Do not apply power to the switch assembly or other devices until all connections are made. 3. Observe polarity for all 12 Vdc connections. 4. DVR Trigger connections are not polarized. 5. DVR must be configured to record on an alarm contact input. 1 Sign 12 Vdc power source such as a multi-cam power box (not included) 1 - standard, approved 1-gang or multi-gang electrical box Wire to connect terminals to 12 Vdc power and other devices. Wiring must comply with local electrical codes.
