Back to Back or Seclusion Room Intercom The back to back intercom consist of two stations, one being located in a room with either one call button or none and a second station with one or two buttons as the controlling station. The music interface allows the injection of music to the non-controlling station. These stations can be flush or surface mounted as shown. These jumpers determine whether it's a controlling station or a room station. Many more features and parameters can be adjusted via the Serial interface. Single call button room station The single call button room station can initiate a call back request to the controlling station by pressing the call button. The LED will flash and a tone is sent on regular intervals to the controlling station to attract attenton. The LED on the controlling station will also flash. Controlling Station with 2 buttons (Simplex) The left button will set up a call to the room station. The LED's on both station will turn on steady and the call setup tone will sound on both stations. The controlling station is now in listen mode and the room station cannot hear any audio. Pressing and holding the left button will open a voice path from the controlling station to the room station. Pressing the right button will terminate the audio path. Controlling Station with one button (Switched duplex) Pressing the button opens a switched voice circuit and both parties may talk alternatively. The LED on both stations are turned on steady and the call setup tone will sound on both stations. If the room station is in a noisy environment or the operator wants to overrule the remote party, then he/she can press and hold (min 1 second) the button whilst speaking. This will establish a voice path from the controlling station to the room station only. Releasing the button will revert back to switched duplex. Pressing the button quickly less than 1 second will close the communication path. The box is 100mm (3.04”) wide with 8mm (0.315”) flops on each side to retain in the wall. It has three cable entry holes – top, botton and back.
