Back-Up Power Pack and Emergency Jump Start Instructions Congratulations on your purchase of the Ballistic Performance Components Back-Pack™ Back Up Power Supply and Emergency Jump Start. Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances. Read all instructions carefully and please keep this instruction manual for easy reference. Charge Before Use! Indicator Lights Press the power switch button to check the capacity of Back-Pack™. Indicator Lights 1 Flashing 1 Solid 2 Solid 3 Solid 4 Solid Back-Pack Capacity 0% 25% 50% 75% (Limit of Jump Start Capacity) 100% Instructions for Charging Back-Pack™: Charging Back-Pack™ at Home: 1.) Plug the home adapter into a 110v socket. 2.) Connect the home adapter to the input port of Back-Pack™. When charging, indicator lights will flash one by one. The number of solid indicator lights indicates the battery capacity of Back-Pack™. Full indicator lights are solid when charging is complete. Charging Back-Pack™ with the 12 volt vehicle adapter: 1.) Plug the 12 volt vehicle adapter into the 12 volt socket of the cigarette lighter. 2.) Connect 12 volt vehicle adapter to the input port of Back-Pack™. When charging, indicator lights will flash one by one. The number of solid indicator lights indicates the battery capacity of Back-Pack™. All indicator lights are solid when charging is complete. Instructions for Jump Starting a Vehicle: Jump Start Warnings: 1.) Do not attempt to jump start vehicle if Back-Pack™ charge state is less than 3 LEDs 2.) Do not store with Jump Start Cable connected. 3.) Do not reverse polarity of Jump Start Cable. 4.) Make sure the blue Jumper Cable is fully installed in Back Pack™ when attempting to jump start a power sports vehicle. If the blue connector is not secure, the vehicle may not start and the connector can become damaged. 5.) Remove Back-Pack™ from the battery within 30 seconds after the engine has started. 6.) Do not attempt to start for longer than 5 seconds. This will damage Back Pack™. 7.) Do not continue to attempt to start the vehicle if 3 attempts are not successfull. Continuing will damage Back Pack™. Jump Start Instructions: 1.) Confirm that no less than 3 State of Charge indicator lights are lit. 2.) Connect the red battery clamp of Jumper Cable to the vehicle’s Positive (+) battery terminal and then connect the black battery clamp of Jumper Cable to the vehicle’s negative (-) battery terminal. 3.) Plug the Jumper Cable into the jump start socket of Back-Pack™. 4.) Make sure the Blue Jumper Cable plug is pushed completely into Back-Pack™! 5.) Start the vehicle. 6.) When the vehicle starts, disconnect Back-Pack™ from the vehicle within 30 seconds. Do Not Operate the vehicle with Back-Pack™ connected. 7.) Back-Pack™ was designed to jump start power sports vehicles such as motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, and watercraft. Do not attempt to start a vehicle larger than 2.5 liters of displacement. Instructions for Charging USB Mobile Devices: 1) Plug USB Cable to the USB 5V / 2A output port. 2.) Select appropriate connector and connect it to your mobile device. 3.) Press the power button to begin charging. 4.) The indicator lights will show the Back-Pack’s™ state of charge while charging other devices. Instructions for the LED Flash Light: 1.) Press the switch button 3 seconds to start the LED flash light. 2.) Hold the power button to access the 4 modes of LED flash light. 3.) Do not short Jumper Cable. Do not use as a toy. Do not allow Back-Pack™ to become wet. Do not immerse Back-Pack™ in water. Do not operate Back-Pack™ in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Do not modify or disassemble Back-Pack™. Do not expose Back-Pack™ to direct heat. Do not store in locations where the temperature may exceed 140ºF (60ºC). Charge only at ambient temperatures between 0ºF (-18ºC) and 140ºF (60ºC). Charge only using the charger provided. At the end of Back-Pack’s™ life, discard Back-Pack™ according to local Lithium Battery recycling laws. 1 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY The Ballistic Performance Components Back-Pack™ is built to the highest specification available. Each Ballistic Back-Pack™ is then run through the most stringent quality control standards and bench tested to ensure that it performs as advertised. Because of our high level of quality control we offer an industry leading 1 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY. Ballistic’s Back-Pack™ Warranty is a manufacturer’s defect warranty for function only. Warranty does not cover physical damage, misuse, or improper charging. Ballistic is not liable for any damage to either person or personal property resulting from the use of this product. If the Back-Pack™ unit is physically damaged in any way the claim will be denied. Ballistic Performance Components extends a warranty only to parts manufactured by Ballistic Performance Components. Conditions not covered under warranty: Abuse or physical damage of any kind. Hard short of the terminals. Damage from immersion in liquid or direct heat. Cell damage as a result of being drained below 30% of capacity. Over charging or damage as a result of improper charging. Damage from use in excess of cranking capacity. The warranty is void if the serial number and label has been removed. All warranty claims must be accompanied by the original receipt from your retailer in order to be eligible for a warranty claim. Warranties are non-transferable and meant for the original owner only. Returns will only be accepted from the original owner. Warranty claim product must be returned to Ballistic Performance Components’ possession before any replacement product can be shipped out. Each Ballistic Back-Pack™ is only eligible for one warranty replacement. Once a Back-Pack™ has been warranted the replacement item only holds the remainder of the warranty period of the original unit purchased. All shipping charges to Ballistic Performance Components, insurance and any damage incurred during shipping for any and all warranty claims is the customer’s responsibility. If the product is determined to be defective, Ballistic Performance Components will pay for return shipping of the replacement unit back to the customer (within the continental US) by ground shipping only. If the unit is found to be NOT defective, or the unit originated outside the continental US, shipping back to the customer will be at the customer’s expense. The Ballistic Performance Components Back-Pack™ is designed as jump starter for power sports vehicles. If Back-Pack™ is abused, or used in a manner for which it was not intended the warranty is void.
