This new system shall be launched in the market around August/September 2008; it will provide an absolute economic benefit to the hotels by making them save electric energy over 90%. 01 R From the time with BAGEN, I am crystal clear of myself even in the mist of steam! www.yashdefogger.com 02 Energy saving defogger system Working principle When the hot water supply switch is switched on, the hot running water will trigger on the electromagnetic valve, which activates the mirror defogger, while the mirror defogger is heating mirror surface the result will be a fog free mirror. Once the hot water supply switch is switched off, the hot water will stop flowing and will trigger off the electromagnetic valve, which in turn will deactivate the mirror defogger and mirror defogger will stop to work. Customers usually turn on the vanity mirror light when in room; the common design of defogger circuit is sharing the defogger switch with vanity mirror lighting, this results in constant working of defogger for almost 12 hrs. When the new energy saving system is installed, the defogger is working for only 30 minutes, till the time, the customer takes shower. The cable can't be pulled strongly. Put the electromagnetic valve, transformer and relay into a suitable place. Decide the electromagnetic valve's position. In order to make use of the electromagnetic valve completely, control one or more fog free mirror in the meantime, we suggest installing the electromagnetic valve in the position shown on the following drawing [ Drawing of Bagen's Mirror Defogger System 2 ] , and parallel connect the defoggers like the electric circuit has shown. Put the transformer, relay onto a suitable place, according to rooms real situations, parallel connect the transformer and relay in a proper position that would be convenient to connect power. Electromagnetic valve Installation Electromagnetic Valve According to the water flowing direction in the pipe, connect BAGEN Electromagnetic valve and the hot water pipe connection pipe out-water end, and connect the electromagnetic valve 34 Hot Water Pipe Water flowing direction Electromagnetic valve and the hot water pipe connection the electromagnetic valve in-water end with the hot water out-water end with the hot water in-water end. There is outer thread connection requested between water pipe and electromagnetic valve, and connection interface should be well treated with water Leak-proofing. 08 www.yashdefogger.com 110-230 VAC Electromagnetic valve and transformer connection ~ Connect one end of the electromagnetic valve with the Transformer + positive pole of the transformer, and another end with - the "3+" port on the positive pole of the relay's input , 34 1 the "4-" port on the relay input should be connected +3 with the negative pole of the transformer, this resulted 2 INPUT 4 BAGEN Solid State Relay - Electromagnetic Valve - Solid State Relay in a closed circuit. Electromagnetic valve and relay and transformer connection Transformer Installation Installation location: We suggest installing the relay and transformer near other electrical fixture switch in the bathroom, or near the main switch of the room. Please install and fix the transformer to the covered in-wall junction box. Circuit connection: the power supply is 110-230VAC, please connect power with transformer input. The transformer's output is 24VDC, the output ports are connected with electromagnetic valve and Relay respectively. Please refer to The Electromagnetic valve, Relay and Transformer installation for details. Relay Installation 110-230 VAC Installation location: we suggest installing the relay and transformer near other fixture switch in the bathroom. ~ Please fix the relay with screw onto the wall that has wire sink, then fix the relay to the radiator's panel. 1 2 4 INPUT +3 Solid State Relay - Demister mirror Solid State Relay Relay and defogger and power supply connection The Relay in this system has 4 wiring points, #1,#2 wiring point are for output, #3,#4 are input points. The closed circuit can be formed in the following two methods: Method 1 Connect the #1 wiring point of relay with power supply, the #2 with fog free mirror live line, then connect the neutral line of the fog free mirror to the neutral line of the power supply. Method 2 Connect the #2 wiring point of relay with power supply, the #1 with fog free mirror positive line, andthen connect the neutral line of the fog free mirror to the neutral line of the power supply. #3,#4 wiring points of relay are for input, which are connected to another end of the Electromagnetic valve and transformer. 09 150mm www.yashdefogger.com Install fog free mirror onto wall Junction box Power supply Installation area of defogger mirror Cutting part of base plate Base plate with 9-18mm 150mm Breakwater Basin Junction box location Please fix the power supply and junction box in the place shown on the drawing. Mirror mounted to plywood panel In order to utilize heat energy more effectively, usually apply a 9-18mm thickness plywood panel to support the mirror from wall, In installation situation, the cable lead of defogger may have some surplus length after finished the cable connection. Then we suggest opening a hole on the plywood panel as shown the drawing to hold the cable so that mirror is stable and flat after installation. Front view drawing Pre-embedded wire Cable connection There is no live pole & neutral pole difference on defogger's cable, connect the cable with power supply by connector. Junction box Defogger mirror wire Mirror glass Wall Fix the mirror on wall Apply some neutral silica glue to the plywood panel, and place mirror to the designated position. Defogger Install the mirror defogger to the mirror The installation of defogger is simple, a towel, platen or other similar object can finish the stick step. The back protected layer with self-adhesive glue, this way of glue is simply and stable. Side view drawing Cautions: The place that the mirror will be installed should be firm,flat,dry without sharp objects. The power cables should go through wire sink. Please allow a 1mm gap between the mirror and hard substances,eg ceramic brick,marble,tiles as well as metal and wood periphery around mirrors,because the mirror may expand during heating. Wire to the power supply When apply the energy saving fog free mirror system, the connection of the whole electric circuit should be conform to your local electric principles according to the above instructions. Otherwise the system doesn't work. When apply the fog free mirror only without energy auto saving system, the fog free mirror can share the same switch with the mirror light, or set a separate switch.
