Focusing will not be good at all places on the screen, but that will be corrected with the sheimpflug adjustment. When finished, press exit key. See also owner’s manual of the projector, chapter ‘Controlling’, item ‘The selection key’. Sheimpflug Adjustment of the Lens To adjust the lens, follow the next procedure : Step Action 1 Display an image with alpha-numeric characters. 2 Adjust the sheimpflug by loosing the 3 nuts more or less. (tooling 3+4+5 or 1+2+3 or 1+4+5) To tilt the lens upwards, loosen the lower screw. For extreme high projection angles, it may be necessary to loosen the two upper screws a little bit more if the lens touches the x-plate. For a horizontal tilting, use both screws on the left side or the screw on the right side. Check with a white paper if the image is sharp before or behind the projection screen. Attention : It may be necessary to readjust the zoom/focus adjustment while adjusting the sheimpflug. Lens Formula 2 Once the correct position is reached, turn in the 3 allen screws until they touch the x-plate. 3 Secure this position by fixing the M4 nuts on the allen screws. To calculate the distance (range) between the projector frontside and the screen (PD) with the lens in its normal position for a given screen width (SW), use the following formula for BarcoReality SIM6 : Metric system (PD and SW in meter) : PDmin = 4.39 x SW - 0.02 + 0.0008/SW PDmax = 6.00 x SW + 0.15 + 0.0029/SW Inch system (PD and SW in inch) : PDmin = 4.39 x SW - 0.79 + 1.24/SW PDmax = 6.00 x SW + 5.91 + 4.495/SW To be continued on next page. Lens Cleaning Procedure To minimize the possibility of damaging the optical coating or scratching exposed lens surface, we have developed recommendations for cleaning the lens. FIRST, we recommend you try to remove any material from the lens by blowing it off with clean, dry deionized air. DO NOT use any liquid to clean the lenses. A TorayseeTM cloth is included with the lens kit. Proceed as follows : Step Action 1 Always wipe lenses with a CLEAN TorayseeTM cloth. 2 Always wipe lenses in a single direction. Do not wipe back and forwards across the lens surface as this tends to grind dirt into the coating. 3 Do not leave cleaning cloth in either an open room or lab coat pocket, as doing so can contaminate the cloth. 5 If smears occur when cleaning lenses, replace the cloth. Smears are the first indication of a dirty cloth. 5 Do not use fabric softener when washing the cleaning cloth or softener sheets when drying the cloth. 6 Do not use liquid cleaners on the cloth as doing so will contaminate the cloth. Toraysee Cloth Order Number Order number for a new TorayseeTM cloth : R379058. Closing the Top Cover To close the top cover, follow the next procedure: Step Action 1 Put the top cover back. 2 Turn in the 3 securing screws. 3 Re-insert the 3 rubber cover pieces, covering the cover screws.
