BEAMSCAN Hardware Instructions for Unpacking Short Manual
Unpacking CAUTION Improper handling. Bodily Injury! Equipment Damage! Unpacking should be performed by two persons for safety reasons. One person should always hold the side covers while the other one is removing the clamps. Handle the product with care to avoid equipment damage.
The complete BEAMSCAN system is delivered in one big wooden box.
The box is equipped with two SHOCKWATCH labels. The indicators must be checked for damage on delivery.
If Shockwatch indicator is RED: Do not refuse the shipment. Make notation on delivery receipt and inspect for damage. If damage is discovered, leave in original container and packing, and request immediate inspection from carrier within 3 days of delivery.

Remove clamps from the top cover first with screw driver and remove top cover.
On one side, two boxes with all accessories are stored.
Remove clamps from the side cover where the boxes are located with screw driver.
Remove side cover and take out the two boxes with the accessories.
Remove the two wooden plates (1).

Remove all other side covers.
Remove the foil from the BEAMSCAN system.
Remove the big grey foam parts PMMA tank.

Remove the desiccant bags. Do not open the desiccant bags.

Use the BEAMSCAN tool set for steps.

Remove the foil beneath the PMMA tank.
Fix the PMMA tank with four screws slightly to the support plate or positioning device (mounting positions are at the four edges)
Unscrew the four transportation feet from the wooden base plate. (1) Use the TORX bit from tool set and a cordless electric screwdriver.
1 (2) Loosen the counternuts at all four feet with an open-end wrench. Screw the counter-nuts up.
(3) Screw the four feet

with an open-end wrench so that the BEAMSCAN goes down.
IMPORTANT:
Please lower the BEAMSCAN by operating one foot after the other only 1-2 mm at one time.

(4) After the four wheels are on the base plate screw the feet up as high as possible.
4 (5) Then unscrew the four feet from the BEAMSCAN frame and take the feet away.
5 Use the side cover with the wooden reinforcements as a ramp.
Loose only the locking levers from the two swivel wheels which are close to the handle.
Move BEAMSCAN carefully from the pallet.

Remove all foam parts inside the PMMA tank carefully.
Take
reasonable care when removing the last foam part (6) beneath the C-axis. Turn the B-spindle manually so that the Caxis moves a few millimeter upwards and slide out the foam part.

Check the transportation lock for displacement. The black mark (7) must be visible closely beside the edge of the plastic part (8) without space.

If there is a displacement of 2 mm or more visible, please contact PTWFreiburg for further processing.

Remove the transportation lock (9 plastic part with cable ties) from the moving mechanism by cutting the cable ties open.

Remove the transportation lock (cable tie) from the moving mechanism by cutting the cable tie open.
The packaging material (e.g. wooden box, foils, and desiccant bags) must be disposed of in compliance with the applicable waste control regulations.
