Bears can be friendly as well as strong. The Big Bear 250 has an insatiable appetite for work and play, but won’t drink you out of house and home at the fuel pump. Its 230cc air-cooled 4-stroke single cylinder engine gives day-to-day dependability, keeping life simple and running costs low. In fact, everything about this ATV is aimed at giving you a trouble-free ride. You won’t even need to get your hands dirty, as shaft final drive and a clever sealed rear drum brake minimise maintenance duties. The Big Bear 250 is no slouch when it comes to performance, either, with its 5-speed semi-automatic gearbox making optimal use of the engine’s power. Whatever the task, this ATV is ready, willing and able. Are you?

Utility ATV
Functionality, flexibility, durability and massive capability springing from a rock-solid platform of engineering excellence: these are the elements that give a Yamaha Utility ATV its authenticity. Even supreme ability has no value if it cannot be easily deployed. Practicality is the catalyst that makes Yamaha ATVs so uniquely and effortlessly capable. To perform the hardest work in the toughest environments, there are no ATVs better qualified or better engineered than Yamaha Utility ATVs. They are tireless workhorses. But that’s not all they are. When time permits, Yamaha Utility ATVs can have fun too.

Power and torque
Push-button start
Semi-automatic 5-speed gearbox
Torque is twisting power. Peak torque is generated at lower engine speeds. The availability of high torque at low rpm is very desirable in an ATV as it optimises traction. Yamaha’s 4-stroke ATV engines are all designed to produce high torque at low rpm.
Easy, push-button electric starting in any gear is backed up by an auxiliary recoil starter for dependable, all-weather starting.
The Big Bear’s smooth-shifting 5-speed gearbox provides the best possible control over the 230cc engine when tackling steep inclines or moving heavy loads. Power is delivered to the wheels by means of a reliable and low-maintenance shaft drive.
Responsive handling
Serious stopping-power
Cargo racks
The lightweight chassis setup combines low-effort steering with a tight turning radius for sharp, responsive handling in a wide range of conditions.
Large-diameter ventilated hydraulic front disc brakes and a fully-sealed rear drum provide sure stopping power in a variety of conditions.
A wrinkle-finish front carry bar and cargo racks are super-durable, packing a class-leading payload of 75 kg in total: 30 kg at the front, 45 kg at the rear.
