DUOREST® ergonomic chair is equipped with worldwide patented technology invented by German Physics Professor, Dr. Matthias M. Brünig, who has revolutionized the way we sit since 1988. DUOREST® dual backrest supports one’s back firmly without exerting pressure on the spine and distribute the pressure to the left and right back muscles effectively. The centre-pivot in between the dual backrest allows the backrest to swivel in various directions as the user leans back and forth. This movement elevates the pelvis and allows the waist to be embraced by the backrest. As a result, the pressure on the lumbar vertebra is reduced by 50% as compared to conventional chairs. An experience on a DUOREST® ergonomic chair is equivalent to a muscle relaxation therapy. The number of back-related injuries result from prolonged sitting is on the rise. The prevalence of computer-related musculoskeletal pain among office workers and students is also increasing.
The body exerts 100% of its weight on the back when one is standing. However, it is no less strenuous when one is sitting. The weight load on the upper body when sitting down, is 1.5 times the weight exerted in a standing body and 6 times the weight exerted on a person who is lying down.
Contemporary chair designs should not only focus on appearances but also on their ergonomic features, which in turn, provide firm yet comfortable support for different postures. Choosing conventional chairs based on affordability and appearances may result in injuries on the spine and hips as shown in the picture below.
Prolonged improper sitting posture causes chronic back pain or spinal problems. To prevent backaches, keep your spine in a S-like posture and sit deep inside the seat. It is also important to place the heels flat on the floor with the knees locked in right-angle. Considering the above-mentioned factors, it is important to choose a good ergonomic chair that fits your physique and promotes dynamic sitting.

The gas cylinder facilitates the height adjustment. To prevent excessive pressure be exerted on the body, the seat should be adjusted to a desired height such that the thighs are parallel to the floor when one is sitting.

The chair can be reclined to as much as 45 degrees to suit individual preferences. The magnitude of the tension can be adjusted with the turn of a knob.
