Panel PC series CP32xx: Multi-touch and full computing power directly in the field With the new CP32xx series, a high-end Panel PC with multi-touch can be used directly in the field. The devices in a slender aluminium housing feature complete IP 65 protection and are designed for mounting arm installation.
The Panel PCs offer maximum computing power with processors of the latest generation, such as Intel® Celeron® or Core™ i3, i5, or i7. A choice of seven different multi-touch TFT displays in sizes between 12-inch and 24-inch

Industrial PCs with fourth generation Intel® Core™ i3, i5 and i7 The new Intel® Core™ i3, i5 and i7 processors of the fourth generation are making inroads into PC-based control technology. An Intel® Celeron® or Pentium® processor is used on the new Beckhoff CB1061 (ATX) and CB3060 (3½-inch) industrial motherboards at basic PC configuration level, while the Intel® Core™ i3, i5 and i7 processors are offered as an option. In comparison with the second and third generation of the Intel® Core™ i processors the clock rate has been increased and the performance of the graphic processor has been improved. The motherboards now also have USB 3.0 connections.
Fanless CP27xx Panel PC supplements universal multi-touch portfolio Beckhoff is increasing the scalability of its very wide and universal multi-touch portfolio with the fanless CP27xx Panel PC series. Equipped with an Intel® Celeron® ULV 827E 1.4 GHz, the series is conceived for universal use in PLC and Motion Control applications. The Panel PC series is available for seven different multi-touch TFT displays: from 12 to 24-inch as well as in 4:3 and widescreen or landscape and portrait formats. CP-Link 4 – The One Cable Display Link With CP-Link 4 the distance between a multi-touch Control Panel from Beckhoff and an Industrial PC can be up to 100 m. In the one-cable solution the video signal, USB 2.0 and the power supply are transmitted via a standard CAT.6A cable. Servo Drive in the Bus Terminal up to 4.5 ARMS The servo terminals from the EL72xx series for the EtherCAT Terminal system integrate a complete Servo Drive in a standard terminal housing. ET EtherCAT Terminals for the extended temperature range -25 to +60 °C The EtherCAT Terminal system has proven itself over a period of many years for applications in the automation sector where a temperature range of 0 to 55 °C is sufficient. For requirements beyond that, the operating temperature range of selected EtherCAT Terminals and Couplers has been extended to -25 to +60 °C. News | I/O Factory calibration certificates for analog EtherCAT CAT Terminals Terminalls If Beckhoff EtherCAT Terminals are part of a measuring chain and are therefore subject to particular requirements for the reproduction/ traceability of measurement results, a calibration certificate for the terminal is issued to the user for quality assurance purposes. As proof of the exact error of measurement of the terminal, the certificate permits a more accurate definition of the entire measuring chain and reduces the measurement uncertainty. The calibration certificate is assigned to an individual terminal and can be downloaded on the basis of the unique serial number. Product range of the temperature measuring terminals extended The analog input terminals EL32xx (EtherCAT Terminals) and KL32xx (Bus Terminals) enable resistance sensors to be connected directly. A microprocessor in the terminal converts the resistance value to temperature and linearises it, depending on the set characteristic curve. Resistance sensors with different characteristic curves are implemented over their entire measuring range. The new terminals are:

EtherCAT Terminal for thermistor monitoring
Incremental encoder simulation in the EtherCAT Terminal
The digital EL1382 input terminal analyses the input signal of thermistor sensors with the aid of a current loop and a voltage < 5 V. The EL1382 is a monitoring device for the thermal machine protection of PTC sensors, suitable for the direct monitoring of motors, bearings and equipment.
The EL2522 incremental encoder simulation terminal (pulse train) outputs a signal that is modulated via the frequency signal on two channels with four outputs. The signal can be used to control motor drivers or other signal receivers, which are controlled by single cycles.

Compressed air measurement directly in the field and directly in the EtherCAT system Compressed air is still used in nearly every area of industry, whether for driving, controlling, movement or transport. For efficient machine and plant processes it must be analysed as well as possible or monitored and optimally integrated into the control system. The EP3744-0041 and EP3744-1041 EtherCAT Box modules offer a compact all-in-one solution. They combine compressed air measurement, EtherCAT connection and digital I/Os for use directly in the process. News | I/O Analog input box with galvanically isolated differential inputs The EP3162 EtherCAT Box has two analog inputs which can be individually parameterised, so that they process signals either in the -10…+10 V or the 0/4…20 mA range. The voltage or input current is digitised with a resolution of 16 bits, and is transmitted (galvanically isolated) to the higherlevel automation device. Compact EtherCAT Box in zinc die-cast housing The EtherCAT Box system is complemented by the new ERxxxx modules with zinc die-cast housing. The housing shape of the ER series modules is identical to the plastic housings of the EP series. The zinc die-cast housing makes the IP 67 modules particularly robust, so that they are ready for use in harsh industrial and process environments. With the fully sealed design and metal surfaces the ER series is ideal for applications requiring enhanced load capacity and protection against weld spatter, for example. The ER series is the optimum complement to the plastic and stainless steel housing versions. All modules are compatible.

The modules are available in a slim 30 mm or the broader 60 mm format with different channel options, covering a wide I/O range. Signals can be connected via M8 or M12 connectors. The modules of the ER series have an EtherCAT interface. Power supply and transmission takes place via M8 connectors or sockets. For high-current outputs, modules with 7/8“ power supply and M12 EtherCAT sockets are available. Smallest motor size with absolute encoder and TwinSAFE integrity The AM8000 series is currently complemented by motors in flange size F1 (40 mm) for drive solutions with minimised space requirements. Three overall lengths covering a torque range from 0.22 to 0.55 Nm offer a low rotor moment of inertia and very high overload capacity. Based on these technical characteristics it is possible to implement highly dynamic applications in a very small mounting space. The very compact motors feature electronic identification plates and are optionally available with backlash-
free permanent magnet holding brake or feather key groove. To provide maximum motor performance in a compact size, the motors are designed with absolute encoder feedback and One Cable Technology (OCT). OCT uses a single cable for motor supply and position feedback. This means that only one connector is required at the motor, which reduces cabling costs significantly. Typical areas of application for these motors are traversing and feed axes.

The easy HMI solution for TwinCAT 3 TC3 PLC HMI is a stand-alone tool for the presentation of visualisations which are created with TwinCAT PLC Editor. They are shown in full-screen as soon as the system starts up. TC3 PLC HMI Web is a web-based visualisation system. The TwinCAT PLC Editor can be used as an editor for creating web pages. Activation is carried out simply by setting an option in the TwinCAT PLC Editor. The web pages are hosted by the Internet Information Server (IIS). Efficient engineering with TwinCAT 3 TwinCAT 3.1 contains many new functions that make engineering effective and simple. Amongst others, both configurations and program code can be revision-controlled and compared in a source code administration. Manual inputs and the errors associated with them can be reduced by the automatic generation of code. The TwinCAT Automation Interface is the appropriate interface for this.
Complete configurations with the corresponding programs can be created and activated programmatically or by script. Tools such as the Scope are now completely integrated in Visual Studio® in TwinCAT 3.1. In a multi-core system individual cores can be reserved in the runtime for the exclusive use of TwinCAT. That places 100 % of the resources of these cores at the disposal of TwinCAT. In addition to support for
32 bit operating systems TwinCAT 3.1 also supports 64 bit operating systems and Windows CE operating systems.
