Important Before you configure your SMART Board® 8084i-G4 interactive flat panel You need to set the computer (or Microsoft® Lync® appliance) input’s operating mode to “PC” after you turn on your SMART Board® 8084i-G4 interactive flat panel for the first time but before you configure and use the interactive flat panel. IMPOR TA N T If you do not complete this procedure, the following could occur: l The interactive flat panel might not display the outer edges of the computer’s display. l Users might notice higher than normal video display latency. To set the computer input’s operating mode to “PC” 1. Turn on the interactive flat panel. 2. If you’re installing the interactive flat panel as part of a SMART Room System™ for Microsoft Lync, set the Lync Room Reset option as described in chapter 3 of the SMART Room System for Microsoft Lync setup and maintenance guide (smarttech.com/kb/170450). 3. On the remote control, press INPUT (a), and then press the red button (b), which is below the BACK button. Using the left and right arrow buttons on the remote control, select the input that the computer is connected to, and then press OK. N OTE If you’re installing the interactive flat panel as part of a SMART Room System, select HDMI3/PC. 5. Using the left, right, up and down arrow buttons on the remote control, select PC, and then press OK. 6. Press the down arrow on the remote control to select Close, and then press OK. In the Input List menu, the computer input’s icon indicates that its operating mode is “PC.” 7. Calibrate and orient the interactive flat panel as documented in the SMART Board 8000i-G4 interactive flat panel setup and maintenance guide (smarttech.com/kb/170446) or the SMART Room System for Microsoft Lync setup and maintenance guide (smarttech.com/kb/170450). N OTE In most situations, the only time you need to make this change is during the initial configuration of the interactive flat panel.
