They make use of the best cabling technologies to ensure that the 10GX Pre-Terminated Cable Assemblies provide reliability and performance beyond the Category 6A standard – without compromise. The combination of Belden Bonded-Pair Cable and a floating screen inserted in between two jackets (for UTP version) ensures exceptional structural stability and unfailing electrical performance – both paramount for missioncritical 10G networks in Data Centers. The shielded cable assemblies also use the double jacket design and are terminated with RJ45 shielded plugs with a unique boot design that protects the shielding integrity. The use of a braided sleeve and pulling eyes offers additional protection needed when pulling and routing the assemblies through overhead trays, raised floors, cabinet pokethroughs and cable management hardware. The inherent simplicity of a RJ45-to-RJ45 feedthrough coupler (also called an inline coupler) brings modularity and flexibility to the 10GX PreTerminated Cabling Systems. Owing to its patentpending Dual-FleX PCB, the 10GX RJ45 Coupler is the highest performance RJ45 UTP modular connector on the market with performance well beyond Category 6A requirements. The 10GX Shielded Coupler uses the same Dual-Flex PCB technology and is encapsulated in a rugged die-cast body. Visit www.belden.com to obtain Detailed Specifications and Technical Data sheets of these products. 5 Two Great Enabling Technologies: Bonded-Pair and Dual-Flex PCB Belden’s breakthrough Bonded-Pair Cables are the result of a patented design that bonds the individual insulated conductors together along their longitudinal axes. This unique physical characteristic results in uniform conductor- toconductor spacing – a key aspect in consistent electrical performance. In contrast, the stresses of cable assembly and modular cord handling will change the physical structure of a nonbonded-pair cable. When assemblies and cords are squeezed and bent in pathways and cable managers, the majority of the pulling force is distributed to the pairs of the cable. The pairs must withstand this force, despite being tugged around bends and corners – while, ideally, maintaining a consistent centricity. Furthermore, any kink in the cable also changes the relationship of the conductors of a pair. For these reasons, the electrical properties of a nonbonded-pair cable can degrade over time. Bonded-Pair Cable, Cable Assemblies and Modular Cables maintain their physical integrity – and therefore their electrical performance – even when subjected to handling stresses during installation and throughout their use. This means less trouble-shooting and downtime for the end-user. Belden’s Dual-FleX Technology overcomes one of the most difficult challenges for 10 Gigabit cabling: to meet Category 6A minimum channel length performance requirements due to the effect of multiple connections in close proximity. Belden’s patent-pending Dual-FleX PCB overcomes this challenge but also achieves a quantum leap in RJ45 connectivity performance. With noise compensation taking place right at the plug/jack contact point, on both sides, there is no delay in crosstalk compensation. The technical advantage is controlled performance with a perfectly balanced connector. The end-result is astounding performance in short channels; exceeding Category 6A in channels as low as 5 ft for 2-connector, and 18 ft for 4-connector configurations. 6 Manipulation Effects on Nonbonded-pair vs. Bonded-Pair Cable Loss of centricity caused by gaps in a Nonbonded-pair. A Bonded-Pair can be manipulated without causing performancerobbing gaps between the pairs. Nonbonded-pair Bonded-Pair Installed and manipulated n­onbonded-pairs have a tendency to gap, varying the centricity of the two conductors. Belden BondedPairs do not gap so the physical integrity of the pair is maintained.
