Specifications for One (1) Fire Service Pumper Conventional 6 Man Crew Cab with Cross Controls for the R.M. of Blanshard, Oak River, MB
Request for Quotation As per specifications provided, you are invited to submit pricing and delivery for one (1) Triple Combination Pumper Apparatus with an Open Cross Control Pump Panel. Bidders are to reply to the specifications on the forms supplied, plus include detailed specifications for the apparatus. Bidders are advised to quote as per the outlined specifications. The R.M. of Blanshard has concluded on the design/equipment content, and is requesting complete adherence to the specifications. It is the intent of this Request for Quote to specify a Triple Combination Pumper Apparatus on a commercial chassis. The apparatus is intended as an operational response unit for the R.M. of Blanshard. The unit must be designed to withstand the rigours associated with off-highway emergency service, as well as all kinds of weather extremes. The vehicle is expected to perform suitably during emergency driving conditions at its gross weight rating without appreciable concerns for control (i.e.; sway, diminished handling, acceleration or braking distance). The unit shall be built and tested to meet the most recent edition of the NFPA 1901 Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus (2009 Edition), and will have proof of this requirement affixed to the apparatus. The unit will meet all SAE, D.O.T. and CMVSS requirements where applicable. General The following specifications describe in detail the design, quality and fabrication method for a new triple combination pumper. The information contained within this document reflects the design and quality of apparatus expected by the fire department. Quotations will be evaluated on the basis of several criteria. These include compliance with design and construction requirements, history with bidder/manufacturer, reputation of bidder/manufacturer, and prior response-to-service request time of bidder/manufacturer. Service must be provided within 12 hours of notification. The lowest price may not necessarily be accepted! The decision of the Fire Department and the Municipality of Blanshard is final. Companies submitting proposals agree that they will respect this decision and that they will not challenge the decision. Manufacturer’s Responses Quotations will be accepted only from suppliers who provide detailed specifications outlining the design, fabrication and components of the firefighting apparatus. Quotations that do not include acceptable detailed specifications will be rejected. The specifications contained within this document outline the minimum acceptable requirements. A complete operational test of the chassis, pump and all components will be conducted after the apparatus inspection, upon delivery. The manufacturer’s representative will be in attendance for the duration of this test. Any deficiencies shall be resolved by the manufacturer immediately! A representative from the manufacturer shall provide instruction and operation of the apparatus when the unit is delivered. The apparatus builder will supply complete technical reference manuals for all systems including, but not limited to; chassis, engine, transmission, pump and foam systems. Two (2) complete operation, maintenance & electrical wiring diagram manuals will be supplied with each apparatus.
