The IC-208 Image Controller is required for network printing. APPLICATION Your customer wants the ability to place watermarks such as Confidential, Do Not Copy, Draft and Proof, etc. on certain printed documents. What keystrokes are necessary to watermark printed documents? CREATE A WATERMARK FROM THE PCL PRINT DRIVER Steps/Keystrokes: From the document select File. Select Print. Select the MFP PCL print driver. Click on Properties. Select the Stamp/ Composition Tab. Check Watermark. Select TOP SECRET from the dropdown menu. Select OK. Select OK from the driver window to print your document. 1 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops CREATE A WATERMARK FROM THE PCL PRINT DRIVER continued Follow the steps outlined on previous page. Select Edit under Watermark. Select Add. Type a name for the new watermark in the Watermark Name box. Type the text you wish to display on the printed document in the Watermark Text box. Note: The watermark created displays in the Current Watermark List and also displays in the preview window to the left. At this time you can make changes to font style, font size and other settings. Take some time and experiment. Select OK. Select OK. Select OK from the driver window to print the document with the new watermark. 2 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops Image Overlay from the PCL Print Driver PRE-REQUISITES You will need an 8.5" x 11" Word document with a logo or create text in a document to serve as your overlay image. The IC-208 Image Controller is required for network printing. APPLICATION Your customer has to print an 8.5" x 11" document with the company logo. CREATE AN IMAGE OVERLAY FROM THE PCL PRINT DRIVER Steps/Keystrokes: An overlay must first be created. Open a Word document with a logo or simply type something in the blank Word document that will serve as your overlay. Select File. Select Print. Select the MFP PCL print driver. Click on Properties. 3 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops CREATE AN IMAGE OVERLAY FROM THE PCL PRINT DRIVER continued Select the Stamp/ Composition Tab. Click Default. Check Create Overlay File. Click OK. Click OK. You can now select where to save the overlay locally on your PCs hard drive. File name: Name the file, ‘KM Logo Overlay’ for example. Save as type: This will be a .KFO file. Overlay Name: Optionally, you can give the overlay a different name. Click Save. You have now saved the overlay to be used for future documents. 4 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops USING THE IMAGE OVERLAY FROM THE PCL PRINT DRIVER Open a one page Word document, or create one. Select File. Select Print. Select the MFP PCL print driver. Click on Properties. Select the Stamp/ Composition Tab. Click Default. Select Print in Overlay. Note: You may be required to deselect Create Overlay File in order to select Print in Overlay. Select the overlay file you created earlier. Click OK. Click OK again. Your document will print with the image overlay you selected. 5 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops Front & Rear Covers with an Insertion Sheet PRE-REQUISITES You will need an eight page Word document, “letter size” (8.5" x 11") containing text. Load 8.5" x 11" color paper in Tray 1. Load white paper in Tray 2. The IC-208 Image Controller is required for network printing. APPLICATION The customer’s application is to print color front & rear covers for their documents and to also insert a blank sheet within the finished set. You want to be able to demonstrate both Front and Back Covers and insert a blank sheet into a stapled set. Steps/Keystrokes: From the document select File. Select Print. Select the MFP PCL print driver. Click on Properties. Under the Basic Tab change the Paper Tray from Auto to Tray 2 (This specifies Tray 2 as the paper to be used for the document file). continued 6 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops FRONT & REAR COVERS WITH AN INSERTION SHEET continued Under the Finish Tab Select Staple. From the pull down menu select 2 Position (Left). Select the Cover Mode Tab. Select Front Cover and then Blank from the pull down menu. Under the Front Cover Tray, select Tray1 from the pull down menu. Select Back Cover and then Blank from the pull down menu. Under the Back Cover Tray, select Tray1 from the pull down menu. Select Per Page Setting. Click on Edit List. Click the Add Tab. Note: At Change Settings select the dropdown menu and designate Insert Blank Sheet. Under Page Number, type the number 1 (This indicates the Blank sheet will be inserted after page one of the original file). 7 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops FRONT & REAR COVERS WITH AN INSERTION SHEET continued Highlight Paper Tray within the Add/Edit field. Under Change Settings, select Same as Body from the pull down menu. Click OK. Click OK. Click OK. 8 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops Booklet Creation from the PCL Print Driver — Booklet Legal PRE-REQUISITES You will need an eight page, 8.5" x 11" Word document with text. In addition, you must load legal size 8.5" x 14" paper into one of the cassettes. Note: The MFP must have the FS-610 Booklet Finisher installed. The IC-208 Image Controller is required for network printing. APPLICATION Your customer has to create an 8.5" x 14" stapled and folded booklet from a word document that is 8.5" x 11". TO SET UP BOOKLET CREATION FROM THE PCL PRINT DRIVER Steps/Keystrokes: From your Word document select File. Select Print. Select the MFP PCL print driver. Click on Properties. Under the Basic Tab the original Size should be set to 8.5" x 11" and the Paper Size should be set to 8.5" x 14". Notice the view of your selection in the upper left corner of the print driver. This confirms your selection of an 8.5" x 11" original to an 8.5" x 14" output. 9 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops TO SET UP BOOKLET CREATION FROM THE PCL PRINT DRIVER continued Click on the Layout Tab, go to Print Type dropdown menu and select Booklet. Notice the view of your selections in the upper left corner of the print driver. It now shows the original size, the output size, and the booklet selection. Click on the Finish tab, select Center Staple and Fold. Notice the view of your selections in the upper left corner of the print driver. Click OK. Click OK again and your booklet will be in booklet output tray. 10 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops Secure Print — PCL Print Driver SECURE PRINT Secure Print allows security to be imposed upon a document to be sent to the bizhub MFP for printing. The document will be “printed” to a secure User Box and cannot be accessed, printed, or even viewed without first entering its authentication data at the MFP. Secure Print is a very powerful feature as it allows security control of a document “on the fly”. The security data is imposed on the document in the print driver as a one-time function that applies only to that specific printing of that specific document at that specific time. No prior programming is required to use Secure Print. ‘OPTIONAL’ PRE-REQUISITES Note: The ID and password that are required for “Secure Print” in the print driver can be pre-registered by clicking the [User Settings] button under “Output Method”. If the ID and password are already registered, the dialog box to enter the ID and password does not appear when “Secure Print” is selected. When password rules are enabled on the bizhub MFP, the passwords that can be used for secured printing are limited and the jobs are deleted when a password that does not comply with the password rule is entered. For the password rules, refer to the User’s Guide [Copy Operations]. APPLICATION Your end user has a document prepared and wants to print the document to the bizhub MFP. However, they do not plan on retrieving the document until later in the day. They also would care to have the document safeguarded from any other people in their organization being able to see it. PRE-REQUISITES You will need a Word document or any document ready to print from your PC. The IC-208 Image Controller and HDD must be installed on the MFP. 11 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops TO SET UP A “SECURE PRINT” IN PRINT MODE Steps/Keystrokes: Open the File (in this case a new Word document): 1. Type your name on the document. 2. From the Document, choose File, and Print. 3. Go to the Printer Name box and choose the Konica Minolta MFP PCL Printer. 4. Click on Properties. 5. Confirm Original Orientation indicates Portrait. 6. Leave Paper Size set to Same as Original Size. 7. Leave Zoom set to Auto. 8. Confirm Paper Tray on Auto. 9. On the upper right side of the Basic Tab you will see the Output Method dropdown Menu; change the output method from Print to Secure Print (2nd field listed). “Output Method” menu is where you designate your document to be printed in “Secure Document” mode. 10. A “User Settings Dialog box will open. 11. Enter Secure as the Secure Print I.D. and x as the Password. 12. Click OK three times. 12 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops RETRIEVING A SECURE PRINT AT THE BIZHUB MFP Note: Secured documents are automatically deleted as soon as they are printed, or after a set length of time after they are registered. The default setting of this time is specified as 1 day, and the setting can be specified in the administrator mode. For details, refer to “Auto Delete Secure Document” on page 8-13 of the Box Operators User’s Guide. A secure document that was printed can be deleted manually in the Administrator mode. For details, refer to “To delete secure print documents” on page 12-35 of the Print Operations User’s Guide. For details on specifying a setting for “Secure Document Access Method”, refer to the Copy Operations User’s Guide. 1. Press the User Box key on the systems control panel (Below the Touch Screen Panel). 2. Touch Use Document. 3. Select System User Box. 4. Select Secure Print User Box (It will highlight in Green). 13 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops RETRIEVING A SECURE PRINT AT THE BIZHUB MFP continued 5. Touch OK. 6. Type in the ID for the Secure Print Document – (in this case, Secure ). 7. Touch OK. 8. Type in the password for the ‘Secure Print Document’ – (in this case, x), touch OK. Note: If the specified ID and password match, the secure print document list appears. 9. Select the document by touching the Icon and touch Print. 10. Press the Start Button. 11. The document is printed. Note: The contents and a preview of the document can be checked by touching Document Details. If necessary, you can change the print conditions. Touch Start or press the Start key in the control panel (To cancel printing the job, touch Cancel). 14 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops Encrypted Network Password Printing — PCL Driver Pre-requisite: MFP PCL Driver must be loaded on PC and device set up on the network for network printing. Please note that Encrypted Network Password Printing is also available with the MFP PostScript driver. The IC-208 Image Controller is required for network printing. NOTE: This allows the administrator to define a User-Defined Encryption Passphrase instead of the Factory Default one. The Factory Default Encryption Passphrase is set to ON by default. In order to set up the MFP for the selection of User-Defined Encryption Passphrase: Press Utility/Counter hard key. Touch Administrator Settings. Enter admin password: 12345678. Touch Security Settings Touch Driver Password Encryption Setting Touch User-Defined tab Enter 20 digit alphanumeric passphrase. The Encryption Key must be 20 digits. 15 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops APPLICATION Customer works in a high security environment and is concerned about the confidentiality of the passwords (User Authentication, Account Track, Secure Print). The customer wants to ensure that no one hacks into the network to retrieve the password(s) as the print job is being sent from the PC to the device. By invoking the Encrypted Network Password Printing function, the user protects the password(s). Press START. Press Printers and Faxes. Right click on Konica Minolta MFP PCL Driver. Select Properties. 16 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops Select the Configure tab and click on Encrypt Passphrase. Enter 20 digit alphanumeric password. The Encryption key MUST be 20 digits. Press OK until you exit out of the PCL print driver. Close out of the Printer and Fax Menu. It gives you an advantage of being portable. PRECAUTIONS In order to print data from the external memory, the optional IC-208 and HDD are required. Double-sided printing of XPS format files is not possible. If double-sided printing is selected for PDF and TIFF format files, then these will be printed as left bound. If two or more sets of double-sided printing with stapling, or punching are selected, then the binding direction can be specified in the settings to specify the staple and punch location. A maximum of 255 files of a format that can be printed can be displayed within the folder in the specified file path. If there are 256 or more files within a single folder, then display of the file list screen display may become slower. NOTE: Remember there are some limitations to the functionality of this feature: • You can not edit the files already in the USB device. • You can not move files from USB device to User Box. • You can not print preview the files in the USB device. APPLICATION Your client will be traveling to his client’s office for a meeting where he knows there is an MFP. He does not want to carry the print-outs with him all the way. He asked you whether he can print them there. 21 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops HOW Pre-Requisites You will need a USB device that contains your originals with text or graphics. Plug your USB device into the USB Port located on the front of the MFP. A screen comes up on the MFP that tells you an external memory is connected and where you can access it. Press OK. Press User Box hard key on the control panel. External memory tab is at the right bottom corner of the screen. Touch Use Document tab. Touch System User box. Touch External Memory. Press OK. Files on your USB will appear on the MFP’s screen. EXTERNAL MEMORY PRINTING — OPERATING PROCEDURE Touch the desired folder (or file). Touch OPEN. NOTE: If it is a file you can print, touch the Print tab on the right. Only files in a format that can be printed are displayed. 22 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops Select desired original file. Touch Print. Print Setting screen comes up. If necessary, specify any other print settings by touching Finishing tab or Paper tab. Press START. PRECAUTIONS In order to print from the external memory, the optional IC-208 and HDD are required. Scanned data is stored directly to external memory.System setting changes required to support this function. Compatible External Memory. q USB Memory formatted as FAT32 required. q Use devices that draw up to the rated power consumption (0.5A) in the USB Port. USB Hard Disks are NOT supported. q Cannot use devices that draw more than the rated power consumption Protective Function. q If USB device draws more power than the USB port, system protective function will disable USB functions. Prohibited Actions. q Do not remove external memory while data is being saved (or printed). q Do not use a USB hub. q Do not use 2 USB memory devices at the same time. This is great for users who are a distance from the device, or the device is not visible from their workstation. Additional notifications include: • • • • • • Service Call Jam Replenish Paper Tray Replenish Toner PM Call Job Finished • • • • • Replace Staples Fusing Unit Yield Finisher Tray Full Hole-Punch Scrap Box Full Imaging Unit Yield Pre-Requisites — System Requirements • The bizhub MFP must be networked. • IC-208 Image Controller must be installed on MFP. • Must have a PC on the network to send notification too. APPLICATION • A user would like to know if a device is ready to print prior sending the print job. JOB REQUIREMENTS • A WORD document. • Perform device setup in the Administrator Settings of the device, making all the necessary setting changes and then input the IP address of the Host PC to where you want the notification sent. • Send a print job to confirm the “Job Finished” notification is sent. 33 bizhub 751/601 Print Job Shops DEVICE SETUP 1. Touch ON for “Job Finished” those items that will prohibit you from printing your job if the device is in that condition. 17. Touch OK. 18. Use Key-Pad to enter Port Number. 19. Enter XXX. 20.Touch Community Name. 21. Enter Public. 22.Touch OK until you are back at the main screen. PERFORM PRINT JOB From your PC, open a WORD document to print. 1. Click File, Print. 2. Select the MFP you just set up with Status Notification. 3. Touch OK.
