In addition, using a wireless kit*1 makes it possible to connect to an office Wi-Fi network, further expanding the range of possible places for installation.

Users can operate bizhub C3851 series from its intuitive touch panel either from a connected PC or mobile device installed with bizhub Remote Access. The same intuitive user interface is shared to make operation a breeze.
The operation panel’s intuitive design allows users to operate with just the swipe of a finger. It has the same user interface as A3 multifunction printers and therefore is easy to use.
Widget feature
The soft numeric keypad is improved to enable faster input.
Built-in widget function enables text boxes, icons, and GIF animation to be posted onto the operation panel. You can use this function as sticky notes to share information on operating precautions, operating rules, and in-house messages.
Convenient Mobile Touch Area Slide menu In addition to the four hard registration keys, five soft menu keys are also available for one-touch activation of functions. Assign frequently used functions (e.g. copy, fax, open numeric keypad) to these keys for improved operability. Tap on the tab to open soft menu keys.
Connecting to NFC-enabled Android devices Pair Android mobile devices with bizhub by simply holding them close to the Mobile Touch Area on the multi-touch panel. Near Field Communication (NFC) ensures smooth, quick connections. The Mobile Touch Area can also be used to log in, print files, scan documents and import scanned data.
Soft menu key Register up to five frequently used functions.
Colour inversion Invert display colours of enlarged display screen for a screen view with enhanced colour contrast. Connecting to iOS devices via Bluetooth Low Energy Users can search for and register nearby bizhub MFP in PageScope Mobile via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and log-in with authentication to print or scan wirelessly.

Enjoy using your mobile devices with bizhub C3851 series through iOS, Android or Windows 10 Mobile. Users can connect and print instantly to MFP without printer driver.
Wireless LAN Wireless LAN Upgrade Kit*1 enables bizhub C3851 series as an Access Point, which allows external mobile devices to get a secure connection without the need for an internal LAN. For greater convenience, pair mobile device with bizhub by reading QR code displayed on the operation panel. *1 Optional Upgrade Kit UK-216 and Local Connection Kit EK-P05 or EK-P06 are required.
AirPrint Apple’s standard printing system compatible with iOS 4.2 and Mac OS 10.7 or later. A compatible multifunction printer on your wireless LAN can be used.

bizhub Remote Access Users will be able to operate the MFP remotely from a mobile device as if using the bizhub unit’s operation panel. Enable various settings (e.g. configure sleep mode settings, register abbreviated addresses, manage document files stored in boxes, and configure MFP settings) from a remote location in the office.

Server-less pull printing
Built-in authentication system can be found on the operation panel, allowing the administrator to set restrictions on copying, scanning, faxing*1, printing, using external memory, and using Box functions for each user and department. It also supports user authentication*2 with contactless IC cards,*3 biometric authentication*2 using the user's finger vein patterns, and authentication on NFC-enabled Android devices*4.
It enables execution of print jobs, which have been sent from the computer and stored in the main MFP, from any MFP in a serverless pull printing group. Users can authenticate themselves at any MFP in the network print group ( up to 10 MFPs x 10 groups ) to release print job.

Fax security Equipped with security functions, the bizhub C3851 series helps prevent incorrect fax number input or selection of wrong recipient.
Secure printing When printing, users can setup password on the printer driver screen to store print data in the bizhub unit’s hard disk. It will not print unless authenticated by entering password on the operation panel.

Recipient's number displayed for confirmation Press the Start button on the fax to display the recipient's name on the operation panel. Confirm that the correct fax recipient is selected. Enter recipient's number twice When entering the fax number directly, the user is required to enter the recipient fax number twice before transmission. TPM (Trusted Platform Module) ISO/IEC 15408 certification bizhub C3851 series is certified ISO/IEC 15408 as it has met the rigorous security requirements of US Government Approved Protection Profiles.
Confidential information such as certificates and passwords can be securely managed in bizhub C3851 series. Just activate the TPM function to encrypt the information and save it in a dedicated storage area in the TPM security chip. This prevents unauthorised reading from external devices. * Optional i-Option LK-115 v2 is required.

Usage of recycled materials
Newly developed toner with improved light resistance. It produce document with improved print quantity which is suitable for long term storage.
To reduce our environmental burden, we use recycled PC/PET developed with our proprietary cutting-edge chemical processing technology. The surface area of the bizhub C3851 series, 47.7% is fabricated using recycled PC/PET. The registration keys in the operation panel are made with recycled bio-plastic materials.

Low power consumption With its energy-efficient design, the bizhub C3851 series easily clears the standard energy consumption (TEC) values defined in International Energy Star Program Version 2.0. Compared with the predecessor models, both TEC value and CO2 emissions have been reduced.

Sleep mode bizhub C3851 series automatically switches to sleep mode after a user-defined period of inactivity. This mode reduces power consumption to a mere 0.5W by cutting off power to the CPU. When users want to use the multifunction printer again, it switches back to full power in seconds.
