Any of illegal copy and distribution could be resulted in indemnification as a civil/criminal offense as well as criminal punishment. 4 Before Use ※ For efficient use, please check the following item at least once a week ● ● ● ● ● ● ● For removal of a SD memory card, power must be turned off and then LED must be turned off before the removal of the card. A SD memory card must be formatted once/twice a month. A SD memory card should be changed every 6 month in case of connection to permanent power, and 1 year in case of connection to Cigar Jack (ACC power). (Provided, only an authorized memory card should be used) A memory card for the Car DVR should be used only for the Car DVR. After watching the saved image on a smart phone, it must be formatted before use. There could be errors on saving due to automatically generated files. In case of installing a rear camera → For installing a rear camera, a connection cord should be connected to a main body of the Car DVR and then a power cord should be connected. In case of a hybrid vehicle – Please do not connect to permanent power in case of a hybrid car. (electric car) ※ Emergency ● ● ● ● What would cause malfunctions of the Car DVR? 1 : when a memory card is removed by force while the Car DVR is still on. 2 : when a memory card does not formatted at least once/twice a month. 3 : A different fie is saved on a memory card. Especially when it does not get formatted after playing the saved video on a smart phone Support format function on Smart-phone configuration window. 4: In case of warning massage of writing error appeared even if it has been formatted. In case of no. 1, 2 and 3, format a memory card. In case of no. 4, check a memory adapter Lock switch or exchange a memory. If the inside temperature is increased to more than 70°C, power of the device would shut off automatically to extend the lifespan and prevent fire. If the temperature drops to the certain level, power would be turned on automatically due to a watchdog function. We do not recommend of permanent power connection. The manufacturer is not responsible for any of battery discharge, overheating, fire and damage on Car DVR lifespan caused by permanent power connection. For efficient operation of a Car DVR, please check the device at least once a week. 5 Before Use How to use a SD memory card ● Only a SD card authorized by the manufacturer should be used. Any of issues caused by unauthorized SD cards would not be reimbursed by the manufacturer. ● A SD card is a consumable product, so it should be exchanged regularly. ● Only the authorized SD card of the manufacturer should be purchased. ● A SD card should be formatted at least once or twice a month. ● Before formatting of a SD card, important data must be saved on another device (HDD). ● When a formatted SD card is inserted into the product, a save folder would be generated automatically and data would be saved. ● ● ● ● ● A power cord must be disconnected before removing a SD card. If a SD card is removed while power is on, it may damage a memory card and cannot restore last file. Before removing a SD card, make sure that LED of the product is completely turned off. As for this product, a Micro SD card is equipped to be able to view an image with a smart phone directly. Please do not force to separate a Micro SD card. Such action may damage the card. In case of permanent power connection, it is recommended to exchange a SD card every half year. If a SD card does not record anything for five minutes, there would be alarm on the save error. Caution Caution for the parking motion detection In case of Normal power connection, a vehicle battery may get discharged if a vehicle is left in negligence for a long period. In case of leaving a vehicle for a long period, start a vehicle or disconnect power cord for a certain time. Be careful to operate the Car DVR after leaving a vehicle in a cold/hot place (Proper temperature: - 10~70) In case of parking a vehicle in a cold/hot place for a long period, it may influence the normal operation of the Car DVR. Please operate the Car DVR when it reaches the proper temperature. Be careful not to have foreign particles inside If a SD card is lost due to flooding, shock and/or fire, images may not be saved. Never disassemble or remodel the product In case of Normal power connection, a vehicle battery may get discharged if a vehicle is left in negligence for a long period. In case of leaving a vehicle for a long period, start a vehicle or disconnect power cord for a certain time. 9 1. Caution Do not place a metallic product on top Do not place a metallic product on top of GPS antenna. It may degrade the reception performance. Satellite reception may take some time GPS satellite reception after starting a vehicle would take some time, and the required time would be varied over climate and/or surrounding circumstance. Stop the operation if there is any malfunction Stop the operation if there is any malfunction or abnormal condition. Otherwise, it could lead to a serious problem such as fire. Turn off the product immediately and contact the company or A/S center. Never remove a SD card while it is in operation Never remove a SD card while the Car DVR is in operation. It may cause malfunction of the product and damage a SD card. 10 1. Caution In case of accident or need of recorded images for other necessary, remove the SD card from main unit and save the data in PC There is a risk of losing data by overwritten in case of keeping data in memory. In case of DC Fuse power connection When connect the permanent power, visiting professional shop is required. Before Use- Product Features HD 1280 x 720P Resolution 1280X 720 high resolution encoding / High performance 2 M pixel camera 3.5” TFT LCD Built-in touch, PIP Parking Recording After a certain period after parking, it would change to a parking recording mode automatically and it saves an image with a low speed frame (5fps). When a vehicle starts to move, the parking recording mode would switch over to Normal/event recording mode. Motion Detection It is a function of recording only in case of the product detects the movement of a vehicle/object while it is at a parking recording mode. Normal Recording/Event Recording It is a function of recording the whole driving process including the driving and parking. It is a function of emergent recording in arisen of certain level of shock and/or event. 13 2. Before Use- Product Features Parking LED Blinking When power is on, LED on the front of the product starts to slowly flick to protect the vehicle. The theft prevention LED is an auxiliary function to product the vehicle from any of improper approach. Voice Recording Selection This product is designed to record image and voice at the same time. However, when this button is pressed, only image would be recorded. Vehicle Battery Discharge Prevention It is a function of shut off its power automatically if vehicle voltage is 11.9V or less in case of the Normal power is used. Power On/Off Press a power button to change to a standby mode. Press a power button again to change a standby mode to Normal recording mode. 14 2. Before Use- Product Features Smart Phone Viewer With a Micro SD card, images saved on a smart phone can be easily played. Power Compensation With a built-in backup battery, our Car DVR still can continue the recording for about 10 minutes and saving the recorded images and sounds even if power is disconnected due to an external shock. Overwriting When the memory is full, files would be overwritten in an order of oldest. Manual Recording If this button is pressed in emergency, it would start the recording. Simple GPS Expansion Pack You can enjoy a GPS function only with a rack with built-in GPS, which has to be purchased separately. 15 2. Exclusive Viewer Program An exclusive viewer which allows the playing of images recorded from front camera and rear camera at once. 16 2. Instruction 3-1 Menu- Quick Menu, Power On/Off Button ※ When power is on and LCD is touched on a basic recording screen, a quick menu mode would appear as the following. 1. Main : It is a button to change to a main menu. 2. Front : It is a button to view only front screen. By pressing this button again, it is possible to view only rear screen as well as divided screen. 3. Cancel : The execution of a quick menu button would be canceled. Power button Manual recording Mute Speaker ON/OFF LCD ON/OFF When the front/rear screen is pressed, it would return to a PIP divided screen. 19 3. Instruction 3-1 Menu –Main Menu Screen ※ When LCD is touched while a Car DVR is in recording, a quick menu mode would appear. 1. Image View : Normal recording, event recording, parking motion recording, and a list of manually recorded files would be shown and played. 2. Record Start : Press the record start button to start the recording of a Car DVR. It should be noted that recording would stop at a menu mode. 3. Time Setup : It is a menu to move to a screen for setup of time- year/ month/date/hour/minute 4. Configuration : Move to screen for setup of recording environment and format. 20 3. Instruction 3-1 Menu- Image View Normal recording : It shows Normal saved files and in general, it is recorded in a unit of 1 minute. Event recording : It shows a list of files recorded in occurrence of event. Parking motion detection : It shows a list of files recorded in parking . Forced recording : It shows a list of files manually recorded. ※ If a files list is touched, the touched file would play. Press a cancel button during the play to return to the list. ※ If a screen is touched while the file is in playing, it would change to an image from a rear camera. 21 3. Instruction 3-1 Menu- Time Setup After touching the desired item- year, month, date, press +/- button to change it to the desired date and time. Press an apply button to save the date and time. If a cancel button is pressed, the changed value would not be saved and it would return to a main screen. 22 3. Instruction 3-1 Menu- Configuration - Recording Image Resolution : It adjusts the recording image resolution. Default value is Low. If it is set as High, the size of a file becomes large and it results in shorter recording hours. Therefore, the resolution should be set to be best suitable for user’s condition. (Recommended value: Low) - SD Format : It is for formatting of a memory card. Check whether it is set to be FAT32 before format. - Sound Recording : It is for enable/disable the voice recording. Default value is ‘Yes’. - Sound Volume: It adjusts the speaker volume. - LCD period: It adjusts the LCD auto turn-off period. - Set : It saves the adjusted value and returns to main menu. When cancel button is pressed, it would return to main menu without saving. - +/- : Press +/- to adjust a value of the selected item. 23 3. Instruction 3-2. LED Lamp Status LED Lamp is a signal of the current status of the product. Please refer the following table to understand the current status of your Car DVR. Instruction 3-3 LCD Image Output A basic screen to be shown upon starting of the system is at a PIP mode (Picture In Picture) with front image and rear image. Rear image Front image 25 3. Instruction 3-4 Format A format function is available for this product for user to initialize the memory in case of emergency and/or system error. Go to a main menu and select a configuration menu and then, click a format button. Important image data could be deleted upon formatting, so the format should be executed only when it is necessary. (Format with a PC is recommended unless it is required) 26 3. Instruction 3-5. Parking Mode and Motion Detection Function If there is no movement of a vehicle for a certain period (about 20 min), it would change to a parking mode automatically. If any movement of other vehicle/object is detected in a parking mode, it would record for 10 seconds before/after the motion detection. If there is no further movement, the recording would stop and it would change to motion detection mode. When a vehicle starts to move, it would be changed to a general Normal recording. ※ If a user is willing to use DC Fuse power cable for a parking motion detection function, it is recommended to get a support from an expert/specialist. The manufacturer and/or supplier is not responsible for any of risks of DC Fuse power cable including battery discharge, device heating, fire and shortened lifespan of the product. 27 3. Instruction 3-6. Image Storage Device This product detects shock caused by vehicle collision, quick stop and irregularities on roads and stores front and rear images before and after the shock in real time. Provided, it may not be stored as event shock recording due to shock sensitivity and/or vehicle condition, and if a corresponding image is not in an event folder, you should check it from the Normal recording image. This product saves a shock image along with time of the shock and speed data. (GPS is an optional device. With GPS, the speed and location information could be saved) 3-7 Manual Recording If a manual recording button is pressed, current images would be recorded in a unit of 20 seconds. About 2% of SD memory card storage space would be given for a manually recorded file and if the space gets full, it would get overwritten. A manual recording file would not be overwritten as long as a user won’t activate the manual recording function and the saved file would be stored for a long period 28 3. Instruction 3-8 Embedded High Sensitivity MIC This product is embedded with a high sensitive MIC. All the sounds from an accident and recording circumstances can be reproduced in a vivid manner. Sounds can be heard only with an exclusive viewer program. If you do not want to record voice for the protection of privacy, press the following button shortly. Then, Green LED would be turned off and voices would not be recorded. If the button is pressed again, Green LED would be turned on and voice would be recorded again. Mute button 29 3. Instruction 3-9. Antitheft LED Function As soon as it turns on, front LED would blink slowly for protecting the vehicle. Antitheft LED function is to protect the vehicle against theft during the parking. LED Flickering 3-10. Firmware Update This product can be easily updated with a SD card. Go to http://www.blacksys.co.kr/en (download= firmware) and download the latest firmware version. 30 3. Instruction 3-11 Memory Storage time (For 2CH) Memory storage time would be varied over memory capacity. Choose the memory capacity upon usage purpose. (Only authorized memory device must be used.) 4G(2~3 hours) 8G(5~6 hours) 16G(10~12 hours) 32G (20~24 hours) However, memory storage period could be varied over recording circumstances and image resolution. 3-12 How to Use Memory Adapter A Micro memory card cannot be inserted directly into a PC so a memory adapter, which can connect a micro memory card, is provided together. ① As shown in the figure, insert a micro memory card into an adapter. ① ② ② As shown in the figure, connect the adapter to a SD card reader and then connect it to PC. 31 3. Instruction 3-13. Save Folder and File Description This product saves files in name of year/month/date/hour/minute/second to easily find desired image. ※ Folder and File Name 4 folders would be generated in a memory card. Infinite : a folder for Normal recording files. One of this folder stores the images recorded for 1 hour. Event : a folder for event files. Motion : folder for the files recording during the parking. Select : folder for the files manually recorded. Instruction 3-14 Rear Camera ※ In case of connecting a rear camera, a rear camera cord should be connected to the main unit first and then the black power should be turned on. If the Car DVR turns on first before connecting a rear camera, a rear camera would not be recognized and images from the rear camera would not be saved. ※ A rear camera should be installed with support from the installation specialist. ※ Image of a rear camera might be different from an actual device. 33 4. Memory Format Sequence 4-1. Memory Format Sequence 1. Open My Computer and then right click on a removable disk and select the format. 2. Make sure that a file system is FAT 32 and then click a start button. 34 4. Memory Format Sequence 4-1 Memory format sequence 3. When there is a warning that data would be erased upon format, click a confirm button. 4. Memory formatting process 5. When there is a message that format is completed, click a confirm button. ※ When format cannot be executed, it could be due to memory error and/or malfunction. Please exchange your memory. After formatting of the memory, it must be connected to the Car DVR when it is completely turned off. Also, the memory must be detached from the black box when it is completely turned off. . 35 5. Exclusive Viewer Program Play previous file/ play current file/stop/Play next file/ rewind 10 seconds/fast forward 10 seconds/ change a frame/ open a file ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● Capture : It is for capturing a current play screen and printing. Graph : It shows a status of a G sensor. Recording setup : It is for adjusting of the sensitivity of a G sensor and recording quality. Time setup : It is a window for setup of time of the Car DVR. Normal recording time : It is to setup of time for recording of 1 Normal recording file. The default value is 60 seconds. Event recording time : It adjusts an event recording time period. Screen channe l : A user can select the AV Out screen from channel 1 and channel 2. Recording Resolution : It is possible to select the recording resolution- Low, Mid, High (factory default is Mid) Voice recording : It is to disable the voice recording Acceleration sensor sensitivity : It is possible to select the sensitivity level of a shock Sensor- Low, Mid, High. (Default value is Mid) Play channel : upon selecting of LCD type Car DVR play, it is possible to select either channel 1 or channel 2. After completing the setup, click a confirm button to save the adjusted setup values. It is highly recommended to use a default value. 37 5. Exclusive Viewer Program Time Setup It is a screen for changing the time and date of the Car DVR. Select Year/Month/Date/Hour/Minute and click a confirm button to adjust time. 38 6. Installation 1. Select the installation location and wipe up the installation area. 2. It is recommended to install the product in between a room mirror and a front mirror. Make sure that the product does not interrupt the operation of a room mirror and cover the view. 3. Remove the vinyl on double sided tape and attach it to the front glass firmly. 4. Push the Car DVR to adjust its angle. (15 degrees in downward) 5. Connect the rear cable cord into the Car DVR. (Make sure that the rear cable is connected when the Car DVR is turned off ) 6. If necessary, connect AV cable to the Car DVR and the navigation AV IN port. 7. Connect the cigar jack code into the Car DVR. 8. Check whether a memory is inserted into the Car DVR. 9. Connect the cigar jack power to the cigar jack of a vehicle. (Cigar jack power must be connected at the last) 10. Cigar jack cable, AV cable and rear camera connection cable should be cleaned up. 11. If the Car DVR is connected to Normal power, it should be installed with help of an installation expert. 39 Product Warranty This product has been manufactured under the thorough quality control process. If this product warranty is lost or information is not filled in properly, free repair service would not be provided. This warranty is valid in South Korea only. If a product for general use is used for business use, the warranty period is shortened to a half. Important data should be backed up at all times. ♣ The Car DVR is an auxiliary device for image recording so it does not legally warrant that the Car DVR has to record and save all data. After termination of the warranty period. 2. Within the warranty period. - When the product warranty is lost or not properly filled in. - Malfunction caused by improper use or user’s negligence. - Malfunction caused by force majeure event. - Malfunction caused by use of unauthorized optional devices. - Malfunction caused by improper power connection. - Damage and/or malfunction caused by repair and/or remodeling by an unauthorized service provider. 3. After the warranty period, repair services could be provided only when necessary parts are in stock. ▶ General Compensation Criteria for Consumers’ Damages Compensation for consumers’ damages should be made as the following. 1. In case of claiming of a service for serious malfunction in a normal use condition within 10 days after the purchase date, product exchange or full price refund. 41 Product Warranty 2. In case of claiming of a service for serious malfunction in a normal use condition within 1 month after the purchase date, product exchange. 3. Malfunction and/or defect in normal use condition within the product warranty period. - In case of defect: free service . - If repair is not possible : product exchange or full price refund. - If exchange is not possible : full price refund. 4. Same defect over 3 times (4th time) : product exchange or full price refund. 5. Multi defects over 4 times (5th time) : product exchange or full price refund. 6.
