Board Room Instructions WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS SSID: comptonlinksys WEP Key: comptonneil Click on the wireless icon in lower right corner of your screen. Find “comptonlinksys” under available networks. Connect. Enter network or WEP Key comptonneil (case sensitive). DVD/VCR To turn on the DVD/VCR, push the button on the front of the device (on the left side). Use the Open, Play, Stop, Pause, Next and Back buttons to play your DVD or CD (this device will play audio CDs). There is not a “fast” fast forward button on this device, only the ability to go to the next or last track. Use the VCR in the same manner as the DVD. Volume for the DVD and VCR is controlled by the fourth dial on the amplifier below the DVD/VCR. AMPLIFIER AND SOUND SYSTEM The amplifier should already be on, however if it is not, the power button is on the back of the machine (on the right side). It is already connected to the sound system in the Conference Room. The first dial is for the wireless microphone volume level. The second and third dials are not connected. The fourth dial is for the DVD/CD volume level. WIRELESS MICROPHONE The wireless unit for the microphone is the located on top of the DVD/VCR and is already on. The hand-held part of the wireless unit is the portion that you carry with you and attach the wire to your clothing if desired. Turn the Power switch to On and the Audio switch to On and it is ready to use. The volume for the wireless microphone is controlled by the first dial on the amplifier below the DVD/VCR. This device will not work in any of the other rooms – it is wired only for the Conference Room. LAPTOP COMPUTER You may use your own laptop computer or use the Conference Centre laptop computer. Our laptop computer is housed in a padded laptop bag in the closet (see your Facility Attendant for access). There is a power cord included with the computer. Just plug in the power cord from the back of the computer to an electrical outlet. Power on the system and Windows will come up. The computer is loaded with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. LAPTOP REMOTE CONTROL Connect the plug-n-play USB connector to your laptop and allow Windows to detect the new device. The necessary software will automatically install. Follow the instructions included with the Remote Control in order to utilize the Mouse or Media options. Please return all equipment and instructions to the leather pouch and place inside the AudioVisual cart cabinet. PROJECTOR There is a remote control for the AV projector. Use the On/Standby button to turn on the projector. There are two ways to connect your computer to the AV projector. A.) If you need audio for your computer presentation or if you wish to have the laptop out of sight, you can put your laptop in the computer cabinet and connect the laptop audio cable to your computer. Ensure the A/B switch is on A for this option. B.) Below the table is a connection that goes on the back of your computer. This can be useful if you want to sit at the conference table with your computer while giving your presentation. Ensure the A/B switch is on B for this option. Once you have connected your computer, use the remote control to turn on the lamp (push the standby/on button). What you see on your computer will be shown on the projector screen. FYI We have an adapter if you are using a Macintosh computer. PROJECTOR SCREEN Please request assistance from your facility attendant, who has the key to move the projector screen up and down. ETHERNET HIGH SPEED INTERNET ACCESS You may use the Ethernet cable below the table to connect to the Internet. If you have a wireless card, you may use it to connect to the Internet as well.
