BOOKNET: INSTALLATION EQUIPMENT Setting up a Receipt Printer with USB Overview:This Easy Guide is used when the Receipt Printer is connected to the PC via USB. If the receipt printer requires a COM port or and LPT port then please refer to the Easy Guide; bn_hw_receiptpr.doc. Process:Bookshop Name 1. Plug receipt printer into a USB PORT 2. Install the Drivers for the printer as required, and then ensure a Test Page can be printed successfully from Windows 3. Share the printer through Windows as “Receipt” 4. Select Setup > Shop Defaults > Scroll down to POINT OF SALE REGISTER 5. Select Configure – PC Options 6. Enter POS number, press tab and select Printer Type 7. Ensure the following defaults are ticked:- Receipt Printer Model Receipt Printer Type ( in BookNet) CITZEN DP3540 TM88III TMU88 II*# TMU5000 TM5000 * STAR Printers Other ESCPOS * [Specification] a. Receipt Printer present b. Slip printing to be disabled (unless using a slip printer) c. Close the receipt printer after each transaction [Options] a. Print short description on the Receipt [Devices] a. ‘Receipt (tear off) printer’ = Network share name for the printer (this will be in the format “\\computer name\printer name”), disk file = not ticked b. Journal printer = .\data\text\JNLP1.txt (P1 = POS number), disk file = ticked [Alignment] *Depend on printer, general options only specified a. 0,0,0,10,40,60,0 [EFTPOS]] Nothing required to be selected here UNLESS intergrated EFTPOS is being used [EFTPOS]] Nothing required to be selected here UNLESS a bitmap is being used 8. Click on OK, Cancel, Save, Quit, OK 9. Restart BookNet Test receipt printer from BookNet:1. Select Sales > Point of Sale > Register 2. Put through a Void transaction (refer Point of Sale easy guide, if unsure) 3. Then try to open the cash drawer using F8, followed by F6 To Run Printer Offline (*only if required):BookNet requires the Network Address of the USB printer, we can install a Network Loopback adaptor to ensure that the address remains viable even if the PC is disconnected. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
