2500 ANSI lumens XGA resolution Multiple inputs include DVI and component video Advanced user features
For a compact projector weighing only 4.2kg it’s output of 2500 ANSI lumens puts the CP-X430 at the top of its class. This remarkable brightness and XGA resolution means that, despite its portability, the CP-X430 can deliver dazzling images even in medium to large venues. Advanced features enhance presentation quality and make initial setup even easier. For example, keystone correction can made in both vertical and horizontal directions, while the new MyScreen feature allows an image to be displayed at switch on before
the presentation begins. Image superb while video quality is techniques like Hitachi’s Comprehensive inputs include Standard on the CP-X430 are pointer and mouse function, digital magnification, image fre soft carrying case.
Advanced User Features The CP-X430 boasts a variety of features which make it easy to use and deliver highly professional presentations. The new MyScreen feature allows the user to store an image such as a company logo or a product picture in the projector’s non-volatile memory. This image is then displayed immediately the projector is switched on, even before any input sources are connected, giving a more professional start to a presentation. Setting up is both easier and more flexible thanks to integrated horizontal and vertical keystone correction, accessed directly via a single button on the unit’s control panel. This feature means that the projector can be set off to the right or left of the screen and correction applied to remove any image distortion.
Horizontal keystone correction
For those giving more complex presentations, a feature of the CP-X430 is the three IR detectors for remote control operation, each of which can be selected or disabled through a menu function. Where a presentation employs two or more projectors this facility ensures that each remote control targets only the appropriate projector. The CP-X430 incorporates an interchangeable lens of a type which is available from many third party suppliers, allowing users the flexibility to tailor the projector’s throw characteristics to suit particular applications.
Multiple Inputs As shown to the right, the CP-X430 offers virtually every input connection required to accommodate today’s media sources. Video inputs cater for composite, S-video and component video formats, all with stereo audio. On the computer side there are two analogue RGB inputs and a digital visual interface (DVI-D), again with stereo audio. Each input can be simultaneously connected and easily selected from the projector’s control panel while the image freeze feature avoids any transient on screen noise during switching. Other connectors include RGB out for a monitor display, RS232C for control by a PC and USB for remote mouse operation.

Black level enhancement: In most video images the darkest areas of the picture are not fully black. By forcing these areas to black the perceived quality of the projected image can often be improved. Normally, black enhancement is a linear adjustment which

proportionately darkens all areas of the picture causing an unwelcome reduction in midrange brightness. Hitachi’s advanced black enhancement method avoids this by applying a measured adjustment to the darker areas but leaving the brighter areas unaffected. Motion Adaptive Progressive Scan: A TV picture comprises two fields, displayed one after the other, containing the even or odd lines of the image. This only works because CRT phosphors have a persistence that causes them to glow for a short time after the signal is removed.

Field 2
Line doubling Progressive scan
Motion Adaptive Progressive Scanning
Projection screens, white boards and office walls have no persistence so a video projector must create a full frame image to replace every field. Many projectors achieve this by repeating the lines of each field, “line doubling”, but this reduces resolution and causes line flicker. The CP-X430 overcomes these problems by combining the two fields in a memory buffer which is projected twice - progressive scanning. Even progressive scanning can’t prevent the alternate lines of a rapidly moving object shifting between the odd and even fields causing a broken up appearance. This problem affects normal TV displays as well as projectors. The CP-X430 uses sophisticated image processing techniques to isolate a moving object. Its field lines are aligned and combined, and the object shown in its correct position in each frame - Motion Adaptive Progressive Scanning.
Image Noise Reduction: The CP-X430 also uses digital image processing to reduce excessive image noise. By continually comparing the value of each pixel over successive fields, any abrupt or isolated change can be identified and suppressed resulting in a cleaner sharper image.
