Obligatory front position lights These regulations only apply if the front position lights are not to be wired in or used in conjunction with the vehicle’s current front position lights (sidelights). When fitting a pair of front position lamps you should obey the following legal requirements: Obligatory front position lamps should be fitted at a maximum distance from the side of the vehicle of 400mm, with no minimum separation distance between each lamp. They should also be fitted at a maximum height above the ground of 1500mm or if the structure of the vehicle makes this impracticable, 2100mm. There is no minimum height requirement above the ground.
Optional front position lights There are no legal requirements if the front position lights are to be wired into the vehicle’s current sidelight circuit and operated in conjunction with the sidelights.
Optional Wiring
Before commencing any of the fitting operations, ensure that the vehicle is parked safely off the road with the handbrake on and the correct fuse or fuses are removed to isolate the circuit. Read the instructions carefully before starting to fit the lamps, if in doubt consult a qualified auto electrician. Warning, disconnecting the battery may disable management systems, radio codes etc.
Mounting the lamps The lamps can be fitted above or below the bumper. 1. Check any chosen position carefully to ensure it does not foul any piping or wiring. 2. The lamps must be fitted symmetrically. 3. Using the nuts & bolts provided attach the brackets to the lamps. Insert the nuts into the slots on either side of the lamp housing. Locate the metal bracket into position, then insert and tighten the bolts to hold the bracket in place. 4. Using either the adhesive pads provided or a minimum of 2 self-tapping screws, mount the lamp in a suitable position. 5. Ensure that the lamp is mounted rigidly and does not vibrate.

1. Connect the red wire to the vehicle sidelight circuit using a scotchlok connector, (check your handbook for the appropriate wire colour). 2. Connect the white wire to a good earth ring and self tapping screw. Ensure that there is a good metal to metal contact. 3. Replace any fuses removed.

Wash lamps with a mild solution of soap and water to remove dirt etc. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners.
Obligatory Wiring

(If being used in conjunction with the vehicle’s existing sidelights)
1. Connect the red wire through to an ignition controlled 12v supply via a switch on the dashboard. 2. It is always advisable to fit a separate in-line fuse holder. Fit this as close to the ignition feed as possible to minimise voltage drop. Clip the fuse into position to protect the circuit. 3. Connect the white wire to a good earth on the chassis using an earth ring and a self tapping screw. Ensure that there is a good metal contact. 4. Replace any fuses removed.
