20 MUSEUMS – 1000 STORIES Learn about THE COUNTRY and the people who worked in the mountains, in the mines and on the land. THE SEA has always offered fantastic riches. TRADE AND COMMUNICATION have brought the Kingdom of Norway great wealth and social and technological development. The Hurtigruta was born in the north. But is it true that the cod created Norway? THE VIKINGS, village owners and industrial leaders exercised their POWER and had different lifestyles from the EVERYDAY HEROES. Feeding a family and saving comrades from shipwrecks was a demanding and challenging task for any man or woman. Life was particularly difficult during THE WAR. Spectacular scenery, culture and everyday life inspire great ART. Get to know the fishermen-crofters and other women. Hear stories about mine workers, migrant workers, fishermen, traders and artists. Meet the Viking Chieftain at Borg. Learn about life in the sea. The North Norwegian tradition of storytelling is strong and thriving. Let yourself become enthralled and amazed. The stories are waiting for you!
