Brother International Corporation announces the flagship of its’ new low-profile color inkjet Multi-Function Center® line, with the introduction of the MFC-845cw. This model is the first in its category to offer a combination of built-in Ethernet, wireless 802.11b/g connectivity and 5.8GHz digital cordless handset technology; creating the ultimate wireless solution for any home, home office or small office. With its fast print speed, outstanding print quality, stand-alone fax and copy capability, and integrated color LCD display, the MFC-845cw ($249.99*) addresses key consumer trends with a value unparalleled in the market. Brother MFC-845cw – Page 2 THE ULTIMATE WIRELESS SOLUTION With both Ethernet and 802.11b/g wireless interface, the MFC-845cw is designed to be flexible regardless of your printing location needs….you can either directly connect it to your Wireless router via the Ethernet Interface or you can print to the MFC-845cw using the wireless connection in either infrastructure or adhoc mode. This gives users the ability to share printing, scanning, faxing and media card access with multiple users on the network. The wireless features easily facilitate placing the unit where it is most convenient to access without it being bound to the location constraints of peripherals or end users. Of course the MFC-845cw does not stop there. In an effort to maximize user productivity and the use of space in the home or office, Brother has integrated a 5.8GHz digital cordless handset. Such integration frees up valuable desk space that may have been taken up by having a separate phone, or provides the added convenience of a cordless handset that did not exist in that location of the home. No longer does the user need to be tethered to the all-in-one when making phone calls. The MFC-845cw allows the freedom to move about freely while talking and conducting other activities around the home or the office. The 5.8Ghz frequency spectrum in which it operates prevents interference with the wireless capabilities of the MFC-845cw or any other 802.11b/g devices within its range. Its back-lit LCD screen makes it easy to see when placing calls and viewing incoming calls. The MFC-845cw also has expandability by providing the ability to add up to 3 more Brother 5.8GHz cordless handsets (for total of 4)….to be placed in virtually any other location in the home or home office. Even three-way calling is possible (between handsets, the base and handsets, or three-way conference calling to outside calls). The additional handset options (Model: BCL-D10) are available separately for $89.99* each. STANDING OUT IN THE CROWD Several things set the Brother MFC-845cw apart from the competition. It boasts a flattering design with smooth lines and a well-engineered construction that lends to its conveniently small footprint. In contrast to competitive units of a similar size, Brother consistently adds value with features such as stand-alone faxing and an autodocument feeder – especially important for multi-page faxing, copying and scanning functions. Many other manufacturers do not include these features for this category of product. With a print speed of up to 27ppm black and 22ppm color, the MFC-845cw is among the fastest in its category. Photo printing with the MFC-845cw has likewise been enhanced on a number of levels. It also produces sharp, vibrant prints with ink droplets as small as 1.5 picoliters and print resolutions of up to 6000 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi)._ The new integrated front loading photo paper tray stores up to 100 sheets of letter or legal paper while also storing up to 20 sheets of 4" x 6" photo paper. The PhotoCapture Center® is also compatible with all major media cards1 and includes a PictBridge interface for direct printing with or without a computer. Finally, a flip-up Color LCD display simplifies menu navigation and provides a means of previewing photos before printing.

When used with Brother’s print engine technology, the Innobella™ ink and paper enables and empowers consumers to accurately reproduce beautiful, vibrant, radiant color images; while simultaneously enhancing image permanence and longevity. Innobella™ inks and papers were conceived and engineered to become fundamental, operational components of an integrated printing “system”. Together, this “system” delivers reliable, consistent and dazzling color reproductions from the first print to the last. The MFC-845cw utilizes a 4-cartridge ink system that only requires the user to replace the color that runs out. The new LC-51 series (Innobella TM) inks have yields of up to 500 pages for black and 400 pages for each color cartridge (based on 5% page coverage).
