New Product BULLETIN Dual Analog Audio Cable for Line Level Applications Belden’s new Dual Line Level Audio cable features dual pair construction in different color combinations for stereo applications. NP 151 elden has added a new analog audio cable to its complete audio cabling offering that is essentially a Siamese version of the popular 9451 single-pair construction: Belden 9451D. B Professional audio environments require permanent and semipermanent multichannel line level installations. Such audio applications use cables for non-plenum areas behind walls and in patch bay applications. In conjunction to multipair snake cables, individual pairs are the common choice for carrying a single audio channel to different types of audio equipment. Easy and Convenient to Install Belden 9451D becomes a handy solution for wiring such line level audio installations. It features two single-pair cables bonded together in a Siamese construction, which eliminates excessive tie wrapping needed for single-pair constructions. Its shield is bonded to the PVC jacket, so both can be removed simultaneously, reducing installation time and saving money. Product Availability Belden 9451D Dual Line Level Audio cable is available in lengths of 1000 ft. and 2000 ft. on a reel. Belden 9451D is available in four jacket color combinations. This makes audio channel identification easier before and after installation. Applications Cabling professional recording studios requires stereo wiring (one single pair for each audio channel). Normally, one shielded twisted pair cable is used for the right channel and a similar pair— with a different jacket color for identification—is used for the left channel. Each audio channel is color-coded based on user preference. In audio studios, several single-pair cables run from racks to patch bays or audio equipment, making installation more complex and cable identification more difficult. As cable density increases, cabling from these racks to various pieces of audio equipment becomes even more messy and difficult to organize. Construction Details Belden 9451D features two twisted pairs with (22AWG) tinned copper conductors and polyolefin insulation. Conductors are color-coded red and black. An aluminum-polyester Beldfoil shield is bonded to the jacket for easy termination. The foil shield features a 22 AWG drain wire inside the shield. Each pair has a PVC jacket and is joined in a Siamese construction. Four jacket combinations are available: Red/Green, Red/Black, Red/Gray, and Red/Purple. This cable is NEC and CEC CMR rated. 9451D Belden Dual Analog audio cable for line level applications.
