The baseplate mounts to the frame directly above the tow hooks. Four half inch holes need to be drilled. Because of the variation of weights for the trucks being close to or over 5,000 lbs., this baseplate is designed for a Class IV rated tow bar only. A car mounted tow bar will not work with this baseplate. Covenience links for safety cable attachment were not included due to the fascia trimming required. Safety cables should be attached to the existing tow hooks. 1. Remove the tow hooks from the frame. They will be replaced with the baseplate during installation. 2. Place the baseplate up to the frame from the back side of the bumper molding. Insert a 12mm-1.75 x 50mm Hex bolts and 12mm lock washers through the tow hook and baseplate, then fasten it to the frame using manufacturer's nut plate. Use Loctite on each bolt. Repeat for the opposite side. Tighten and torque each bolt according to the Torque Chart in the General Instruction Sheet. 3. Drill the half inch holes for the side holes of the baseplate. Using the 1/2 inch hardware provided, bolt the rest of the baseplate to the frame, (as shown in the drawing on page 2). Use Loctite and torque each bolt accordingly. 4. DEALER OR INSTALLER: BE CERTAIN THE USER RECEIVES THE INSTRUCTION SHEET.
