Functionality The thermostat will operate Two Stage Cooling / Two Stage Heat Pump / Electric Heat / and Gas or Oil Furnace as selected using the front buttons or the Z-Wave Wireless Controller.
OPERATING MODES ELECTRIC HEAT Mode In this mode, the fan can be set in any of its four modes: Low, High, Auto Low or Auto High. If electric heat is in addition to a heat pump, the HEATING ACTIVE REVERSE VALVE, output “B”, will be ON all the time ELECTRIC HEAT mode is selected.
AUTO CHANGE Mode In this mode, the system will change from COOL mode to ELECTRIC HEAT mode automatically in relation with room and Set Point temperatures. If room temperature rises above Set Point, the system will automatically switch to COOL mode and it will operate accordingly. If room temperature drops below Set Point by 3ºF, the system will automatically switch to ELECTRIC HEAT mode. Set Point will be “shifted” below by 3ºF and the system will follow ELECTRIC HEAT mode. In this mode, the fan can be set in any of its four modes: Low, High, Auto Low or Auto High.
GAS or OIL HEAT (FURNACE) Mode The system will cycle heat output in relation to the room and Set Point temperatures. The HEAT, output “W2”, will turn ON if the room temperature drops below Set Point by 1ºF. “W2” will turn OFF if room temperature rises above Set Point by 1ºF. There is no fan selection in this mode.
DRY AIR Mode The system will cycle the compressor output in relation to the room and set point temperatures during specific periods, in order to remove moisture from the ambient. If room temperature rises above set point by 1°F, COMPRESSOR and LOW speed fan, outputs “Y1” and “G”, will turn on for 15 minutes then off for 3 minutes and will continue this cycle until the set point temperature is satisfied. A sample reading of the room temperature is taken immediately after every cycle to determine whether or not to start another cycle. Set point is ignored during timing cycle. If the room temperature drops below set point, “Y1” and “G” outputs will turn on for 6 minutes then off for 15 minutes and will continue this cycle until the set point temperature is satisfied. A sample reading of the room temperature is taken immediately after every cycle to determine whether or not to start another cycle. Set point is ignored during timing cycle If temperature of sample reading is below Set point by 5ºF or more, pause for additional 15 minutes, sample temperature, and based on temperature relative to set point, cycle or pause 15 minutes, until user decides to stop mode.
Two Stage COOLING Mode In this mode, the fan can be set in any of its four modes: Low, High, Auto Low or Auto High. If a heat pump, the COOLING ACTIVE REVERSE VALVE, output “O”, will be ON all the time COOL mode is selected. The system will cycle the compressor outputs in relation to the room and set point temperatures. HomePro by ADVANCED CONTROL TECHNOLOGIES, INC., Indianapolis, IN

The FIRST STAGE COMPRESSOR, output “Y1”, will turn ON if room temperature rises above Set Point by 1ºF and the Delay on Break time has already elapsed. “Y1” will turn OFF if room temperature drops below Set Point by 1ºF. The SECOND STAGE COMPRESSOR, output “Y2”, will turn ON if room temperature rises above Set Point by 2ºF and the Delay on Break time has already elapsed. “Y2” will turn OFF if room temperature drops below Set Point by 1ºF. There will be a 30 second Delay on Make between actuation of “Y1” and “Y2” outputs.
FAN ONLY Mode In this mode, only the FAN output will operate by selecting Low or High speeds.
Two Stage HEAT PUMP Mode The system will cycle the compressor outputs in relation to the room and set point temperatures.
Additional operating modes In addition to the standard modes, the system can be programmed to operate in the following special modes:
TIMER ON/OFF Modes (controllable from thermostat only) Timer ON and Timer OFF modes are set either by the ZTH100 Wireless Controller or the front panel buttons. They may be adjusted to operate individually or simultaneously. Using the front panel, timers can be adjusted in one hour increments. Setting a timer to “00” will disable it. If the thermostat is OFF, pressing the TIMER button will set a Timer ON. If thermostat is ON, pressing the TIMER button will set a Timer OFF. When a Timer ON is set, the thermostat will turn “on” in the last mode of operation. If the Timer OFF is set, the unit will shut off at the scheduled time. Using the ZTH100 Wireless Controller, timers can be adjusted in 10 minutes increments. Those timers are continuous, which means, they will be reloaded and rescheduled for the same time on the following day. Accuracy for these timers is 5% and the error will accumulate from day to day, until an adjust is executed.
Delay timers Nominal delay periods have ±5% accuracy.
Delay on Break timer Also known as anti-short cycle timer, the Delay on Break timer will be initiated every time the COMPRESSOR outputs turn OFF. These outputs will not turn back ON until Delay on Break time has elapsed. Nominal delay period is 180 seconds. During a POWER UP (after power loss or installation) the Delay on Break timer will also be re-initiated.
Delay on Make timer After the selected fan output turns ON and before the compressor outputs or electric heat output turns ON, a 5 second Delay On Make will be performed. After FIRST STAGE COMPRESSOR, output “Y1”, is turned ON, if a second stage is needed, a 30 second Delay On Make will be performed.
Delay OFF timer There will be a 5 second delay between turning “Y2”, “Y1” and Fan outputs OFF. There will be a 5 second delay between turning gas heat “W2” and electric heat “W1” outputs OFF. This procedure avoids too many outputs switching simultaneously.
Mode/Set Point Selection Delay Transmitting any command from the Z-Wave Wireless Controller or the front panel, other than the POWER button, will initiate a 6 second delay. After this delay has elapsed, the new mode or set point will be updated and the system will respond accordingly.
Power loss recovery If there is a power failure during operation, the unit will resume operation after power is restored and will retain the last settings. Specifications may change without notice to improve product performance. ZTT000 Specifications P/D 061305
