C³ range of 125KHz proximity card readers with built-in Card Reader Controller (CRC) are designed to interface withTerminal Control Unit (TCU) backend controller for multiple applications such as access control, time attendance, guard tour, arming / disarming of intrusion alarms and on / off control of power or devices, etc.
Time Attendance Clocking Most models of C³ card readers can be configured for time attendance clocking only, or combined with an access control. Using a common ID card, user can both access a controlled door and at the same time ‘clock-in’ or ‘clock-out’ his attendance at work.
The C³ card reader enclosure houses both the CRC and a prox reader head. The CRC Board has 2x input and output control points. (one Form-C relay output and the other is open collector output) The input points can be connected to door status sensor, exit push button switch or alarm sensors, while the output points can be used to drive the door strikes / electromagnetic locks, all depending on software setup.
Intrusion Alarm The LCD and the keypad of the reader can be used as an alarm keypad for arming/disarming of alarm sensors as part of an integrated security system for buildings. The security system software will be able to log the identification of the cardholder relating to all operational and alarm activities.
C³ series readers have an aesthetic appearance comes build in with CRC, 2-lines liquid crystal display (LCD) and a 16 softtouch keypad similar to those used on handphones. Reader with LEDs instead of LCDs are also available.
Functions Applications Most models of C³ card readers can be used for access control, time attendance clocking, guard tour, & intrusion alarm arming / disarming. Access Control It can be configured for physical access control of doors, elevators & car parks. The integrated keypad is used when higher secured area is required by entering the access PIN code. Exit card reader used for access control is connected to the entry reader, and has 2 LEDs for visual indication.
Guard Tour A security guard on patrol will present his card to the reader to register his presence. In addition, he can enter an exception code on the reader to signify an exception event, such as a card access control door is left opened. The reader will upload each event/transaction to the central computer in real time. On/Off Control Of Power or Devices The C³ card readers has an unique ‘Control’ feature, where user can select a code on the keypad of the reader to control a relay or group of relays on any of its I/O Board. The relay(s) can then be connected to a vehicle boom gate, motor, lights, or equipment cabinet, such as access to a 19” rack to access file servers in a data center.
