CAMERA DISPLAY SCREEN The Flix Jr. Display Screen provides information about your camera settings. Battery Status Icon Video Memory Indicator Battery Status Icon - Shows how much battery life the video camera has left. When the Empty image appears, make sure to change your batteries immediately. Full = Medium = Low = Empty = Video Memory Indicator - Shows how much memory your video camera has left. As the camera’s memory fills, each piece in the pie chart will color in. When it is getting close to full, the pieces will turn red. GETTING STARTED Video Counter - Shows the length of time of the video you are shooting. Congratulations on purchasing your Flix Jr. Video Camera! The Flix Jr. lets you take fun videos of your friends and family! Memory Full - If your video camera memory is full, this icon will appear on your screen. Delete media from your video camera to free up space. INSTALLING THE BATTERIES CAMERA MEMORY Your Flix Jr. camera is powered by three AA alkaline batteries (not included). You will need a coin or tool to install the batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity. Only use the batteries specified by the manufacturer. TO INSTALL THE CAMERA BATTERIES: 1. Locate the battery door and lock on the bottom of the camera. 2. Use a tool or coin to turn the battery door lock counterclockwise as far as it will go. 3. Pull the battery door back and slide out the battery tray. 4. Insert the batteries into the battery tray, using the battery polarity symbols (+ and -) as a guide. 5. Slide the tray back into the camera, then replace the battery cover and turn the lock clockwise to the closed position. The Flix Jr. will store video to the camera.Your video camera has 512mb of memory, which allows you to capture up to 30 minutes of video. VIDEO CAMERA MODES Your Flix Jr. has 2 modes: CAPTURE, which you use to record videos and PLAYBACK, which allows you to view and delete videos you have taken with the video camera. TAKING VIDEOS WITH YOUR VIDEO CAMERA When you turn the video camera on, it will be in Capture mode, ready to record videos. TO TURN YOUR CAMERA ON: Press any button and the video camera will turn on. BatteryTray TO RECORD A VIDEO: To record a video, simply press the Capture button. Your camera will begin to record the video. When the video is complete, the camera will automatically play back the video that you just recorded. While in Capture Mode, press the Play/Pause, Right or Left button. This will take you to Playback mode. 2. The last video you have taken with the camera will display. 3. Use the Right and Left buttons to scroll through the videos you have taken. 4. Press the Play/Pause button to start watching a video immediately or if you scroll to a video, it will start playing automatically after a few moments. Press the Capture button to exit Playback mode. 7. DELETING VIDEOS FROM THE VIDEO CAMERA 3. You can delete videos from the video camera while you are reviewing videos in Playback mode. 11. 1. USB/TV Out Door – Push on this door to access the USB and TV Out ports. 2. Camera Lens – Make sure to keep the video camera lens clean and clear when shooting video. 3. Record Button – Use to begin recording a video or to stop recording. 4. Display Screen – Use to preview your shots and to show information about your camera. 5. Delete Button – Use to delete videos from the video camera in Playback Mode. 6. Left Button – Use to scroll to the previous video clip in Playback Mode and to enter Playback Mode. 7. Play/Pause Button – Use to Play or Pause a video clip in Playback Mode and to enter Playback Mode. 8. Right Button – Use to scroll to the next video in Playback Mode and to enter Playback Mode. 9. TV Out Port – Plug the provided A/Vcable in here to connect your video camera to your TV. 10. USB Port – Plug the provided USB cable in here to connect your video camera to your computer to download your videos and install the software. 11. Battery Door – Open to install the batteries. TO DELETE ONE VIDEO AT A TIME: 1. In Capture mode, press the Play/Pause button to enter Playback mode. 2. Use the Right and Left buttons to scroll through your videos until you see the video you want to delete. 3. When the video you want to delete is on the Display Screen, press the Delete button. 4. will appear, asking if you wish to delete the item. 5. Press the Delete button again to confirm. The video will be deleted. 6. Once your video is deleted, you’ll return to scrolling through stored videos. TO DELETE ALL ITEMS ON THE VIDEO CAMERA AT ONCE: 1. In Capture mode, press the Playback button to enter Playback Mode. 2. Press and hold the Delete button for at least 3 seconds. 3. will appear, asking if you wish to delete all items. 4. Press the Delete button again to confirm. 5. All the videos stored on the video camera are now deleted NOTE: If you don’t press the Delete button again within 5 seconds after you first press the Delete button (or if do you press any other button), the player will not delete the video and will return to the previous camera mode. ACCESSING THE USB AND TV OUT PORTS Retain package for future reference. The USB and TV Out ports are located behind a door on the side of the camera. To access the ports, push gently on the lens-side of the USB/TV Out Door. The back of the door will pop open. Pull on it gently to open it all the way and the ports will be inside. Warning: Not suitable for childen under 3 due to small parts. INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE Your Flix Jr. comes with the Flix Jr. Downloader software already loaded onto the camera! Just plug the camera into your computer, using the included USB cable, and a dialog box will pop up on your computer asking you to install the software. Follow the steps on the screen to install the downloader. TO DOWNLOAD VIDEOS FROM YOUR CAMERA: 1. Plug your camera into your computer using the included USB cable. 2. A dialog box will pop up, asking if you would like to run the Flix Jr. Downloader or exit. 3. Select Run. The downloader will launch. 4. The downloader will have 2 buttons: Download or Trash. Choose Download. 5. The software will download all the videos stored on the camera into a folder on your computer.You can change the folder the videos are downloaded to. TO DELETE ALL ITEMS FROM THE CAMERA USING THE SOFTWARE: 1. Plug the camera into your computer using the included USB cable. 2. A dialog box will appear, asking if you want to Run or Exit. Choose Run. 3. The Flix Jr. Downloader will launch, showing you 2 buttons: Download or Trash. Choose Trash. 4.
