Maybe the filming industry, security, agriculture, conservation, mining, military? If you can imagine it, we can design and build it. This is what we do at GIS UAV. We design and build drones. DF-M01 Fixed Wing Specifications & Prices DF-M01 Fixed Wing The DF-M01 Fixed Wing is a versatile rugged carbon fiber drone designed for short range surveillance missions. The frame of the drone, including undercarriage, servos and mechanical components weighs 10 kg. The total takeoff weight is 28 kg. If you add a DLE 55RA gasoline motor (1.7 kg) and considering fuel pipes, fuel tank and ignition battery and you should end up at around 13 kg without fuel. You still have 15 kg to work with and must now trade between payload and range. (Consider the legal restrictions on takeoff weight in your country) For flight time at 75% throttle, speed 110 km/h you will use 1 liter fuel every 55 minutes. You can therefore fly 100 km on 1 liter of fuel (estimation, also keep a safety margin) A 4 liter fuel tank will give you 220 minutes of flying time (400 km). The weight of 4 liters of fuel will be about 3 kg leaving you with 12 kg for payload. On the other hand you might trade payload for flying time, hanging only a video camera on the drone, and fit a much bigger fuel tank. Then there is also the battery option. You might choose a quiet electric motor and stack the drone with a bank of batteries, for clandestine surveillance. The image below, shows a DF-M01 landing - powered by an electrical motor. The Body is vacuum formed in a mold and then heat cured in an autoclave. The frame is then reinforced with carbon fiber ribs and tubing. The frame can be dismantled into 3 main parts for shipping and transportation. Fixed-Wing: Electronics In very cold temperatures, -10oC and below the Fixed Wing batteries will have to be heated to room temperature before flight. In very hot temperatures, 50o C and above, extended idling times on the ground should be avoided as the RF transmitters needs airflow to cool down. You can add an FPV (first Person View) camera providing the remote pilot a "cockpit-view" from the drone. The image on the right is a snapshot of the FVP camera's recorded video file at the base station. In this case the pilot was flying the drone manually, using the FPV cam to approach the runway. The image on the right is from a 27 x optical zoom video camera that was transmitted live to the operations room 15 km away during a scouting mission. The camera on the right was used on the above mentioned mission to transmit live video footage. A light weight 27 x optical zoom camera on a 3-axle gimbal which can be controlled from the base station. The camera was imported from a supplier in Poland. For those of our customers who prefer a smaller lighter control station we have the "Pelican Case Control Station" Embedded in a tough, weatherproof Pelican case, the Mobile Ground Control Station offers the operator full access to the video and control of the UAV in one mobile unit. It includes facilities such as a joystick for controlling flight or camera operation, HDMI out for display on large screens, USB ports for charging or uploading / downloading video, power out and power in, and storage of control equipment. In one case an inexperienced pilot caused the drone to fly away with all the expensive kit onboard. We sourced a inexpensive tracking unit and designed a web based tracking platform for laptops as well as an tracking app for smart devices. The weight of the tracking device is 70 grams and when we tested the battery life we got 12 days. (The antennas are directional, however stage 7 allows for Omnidirectional flying) The drone can off course fly further than 30 km, but this is as far as you will get live transmission with this specific RF equipment. You will also have live video transmission on your FPV screen, which you can hook up to a big screen if you want to.
