If the remote is not used for an extended period of time, remove the battery to prevent possible damage from battery leakage and corrosion. Do not attempt to short-circuit, disassemble or throw batteries into a fire. Dispose of batteries promptly and properly, observing any local hazardous waste regulations. Do not burn or bury them.

Failure to do so may result in a fire or malfunction. • To prevent a short circuit, overheating or malfunction, be sure to follow the directions below: • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery before installation. • Secure the wiring with cable clamps or adhesive tape. Wrap adhesive tape around wiring that comes into contact with metal parts to protect the wiring. • Place all cables away from moving parts, such as the shift lever and seat rails. • Place all cables away from hot places, such as near the heater outlet. • Do not connect the yellow cable to the battery by passing it through the hole into the engine compartment. • Cover any disconnected cable connectors with insulating tape. • Do not shorten any cables. • Never cut the insulation of the power cable of this unit in order to share the power with other devices. The current capacity of the cable is limited. • Use a fuse of the rating prescribed. • Never wire the negative speaker cable directly to ground. • Never band together negative cables of multiple speakers.

Other Useful Information Disc Handling and Maintenance Tips • Do not use damaged (cracked, warped or scratched) discs. • Hold the disc by the edges so the surface will not be soiled with fingerprints. Fingerprints, dirt and scratches can cause skipping and distortion. • Do not write on the label side with a ball-point pen or other writing utensils. • Do not attach paper or seals to discs. The player may be damaged if there is any exposed glue on discs. Check rental discs, in particular, and ensure there is no exposed glue from extra labels attached to the discs. • Be careful not to drop or bend the disc. • Do not insert more than one disc into the slot. • Do not attempt to play irregularly shaped discs. • Store disc in their exclusive case when not in use. • DO NOT store discs in humid or dusty areas, or where they are exposed to direct sunlight or sources of heat (such as a heating appliance).
Cleaning Dirty Discs • If a disc is dirty, wipe the surface gently with a soft cloth, dampened with a little water (no other liquids). • Do not use record cleaning sprays, benzine, thinner or static electricity prevention liquids. • When wiping discs, always move the cloth from the centre hole towards the outside, which will not cause distortion. (If you wipe with a circular motion, circular scratches are likely to occur, which will cause distortion.) • If the disc is brought from a cold to a warm environment, moisture may form on the disc. Wipe this moisture off with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth before using the disc.
