V-Series Part of the LX 80/90xx system V-series variometers are part of the LX 80xx/90xx systems. The new generation consist of an Inertial platform and a graphical needle instead of a mechanical needle (V9), as a result, the response of the variometer is much faster and more accurate.

Vario LX80/90xx system Size Needle
S-Series Stand-alone variometers LXNAV has the most advanced vario systems available today. They all have a built in inertial platform (3 axis accelerometer, 4 axis gyros) which are used for precise wind calculation, AHRS and fast vario response. In the latest vario’s, the mechanical needle is replaced by a graphic needle. This graphical needle responds faster than a stepper motor used for driving a conventional mechanical needle. Magnetic compass The LX Magnetic compass comprises of a 32bit microcontroller combined with 9 sensors (3 axis, accelerometers, magnetometers), to generate a very accurate measurement of magnetic heading (compared with GPS calculation) • The Magnetic heading is tilt compensated, calculations are performed 50 times per second and produce a stable reference heading for wind calculations and course change and direction information • The Compass automatically calibrates itself during flight • The LX Magnetic compass can be added to any existing or new LX90xx or LX80xx units through a standard RS485 bus connection or CAN version for S8/S80 standalone varios
