Apollo® Magna is ideal in both residential and commercial environments. Apollo® Magna has proved itself to be around the cut-out, to avoid conducting too much heat and causing cracks in the worktop Please note: Recessed hobs are an option, but there is no warranty on them. a remarkably durable material and stands up well to daily wear Upstands wiping the surface clean, the finish will build up to a smoother Plastering or tiling should be completed after installation. Apollo® Magna upstands are 6mm thick and fixed on site, with Apollo® Magna glue or silicone. Where there are large variations in the wall profile, there may be gaps between the wall and the upstand. Plastering or tiling should ideally be completed after the worksurface installation. Splashbacks and upstands over 100mm high must have a minimum gap from the face to the rear of the hob: Joints Scratches and tear. Apollo® Magna has a semi-matt finish, during use with patina that will be more scratch resistant than the initial finish. To prevent moisture ingress of the core of the worktop, protect the underside front edge in areas effected by moisture with the protective aluminium foil supplied in the installation kit. Apollo® Magna joints are inconspicuous and unobtrusive, giving the overall appearance of a seamless worksurface. Certain colours have different levels of pigmentation (particles), this may lead to a variation in the aesthetic appearance of the worksurface where joints are to be made. Any cut edges on a chipboard base material must be sealed with a PVA chipboard sealer prior to installation. Thermal Expansion Due to thermal expansion Apollo® Magna can expand up to 1mm Apollo® Magna is scratch resistant but not scratch proof; the use of chopping boards and/or pastrymates is recommended. Dark, heavily pigmented colours will show scratches, dust and ordinary wear and tear more readily than light or textured colours. Care should be taken not to slide rough based items over the surface. Staining While most tough stains can be buffed away, a level of care and maintenance is required, as spills should be cleaned up immediately. per metre. Any overhang of Apollo® Magna which extends more than 300mm must be supported. Apollo® Magna should be supported every 600mm. Hob and Sink Cutouts Hobs must be integrated into an Apollo® Magna worksurface according to specified guidelines. Where an Apollo® Magna splash back or wall cladding is installed, a gap of 50mm (minimum) is required behind an electric hob or 150mm (minimum) for a gas hob. A ʻbreakfrontʼ may be necessary to accommodate this requirement. There must be a minimum of 50mm from the cutout to the front of the worktop and a gap of 120mm between heated cutouts (50mm between sink cuouts). Hob flanges need to sit on aluminium thermal insulation tape For further information Tel: 0845 618 2800 Fax: 0845 618 2824 [email protected] www.sheridan-uk.com M6 LUXURY FOR LESS FIRA Tested Products are checked against BS 6222: COLOUR Use Glue Colour Furniture Industry Research Association, which demonstrates Charcoal Black Cream White Chocolate Part 3:1999 Durability of Surface Finish for Worktops by the performance against physical and chemical damage. This will help to maintain a beautiful white clean finish. Persistent stains • To remove more persistent stains from the worksurface or integrated sink use the Abrasive Pads (White, Grey & Maroon), provided in the Kit • Always use the least abrasive pad possible to remove marks. Always rub in a circular motion • Start with the White Pad, rubbing the stain in a circular motion. If this is ineffective, progress to the more abrasive Grey Pad and finally the Maroon Pad • To remove any abrasion marks and to restore the worksurfaces former luster polish, use progressively less abrasive pads. Always finish by using the White Pad in conjunction with the Stone Guard • If hard water scale has built up around the waste or taps, use a standard household lime-scale remover following the manufacturerʼs instructions. Try to avoid using an abrasive pad but if this is necessary, rinse well and polish as detailed above to restore the finish • For the most severe stains, it may be necessary to use the light grey sanding pad. Remove the scratch then follow the above process to restore the worksurface to its former finish.
