> About Us The flicker of flames in an open fireplace has always had a unique and mesmerising charm and now Designer FireTM offers Australians an attractive, innovative and environmentally friendly alternative to the traditional fireplace. Powered purely by bio ethanol (also commonly known as methylated spirits), our fireplaces are clean burning and odourless so they produce no irritating smoke, ash or embers. Furthermore, our fireplaces don't require any flues, pipes, chimneys or utility connections, so anyone can enjoy the warmth and ambience of an open fire without the limitations of a traditional fireplace. Designer Fire’s bio ethanol fireplaces are designed and manufactured to ensure the highest standards of quality and performance. All of our products are covered by a 2 year limited warranty and have been crafted by an ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems compliant manufacturer. In addition, our 1.5L dual layer burners have also been TUV certified in Germany. With a wide range of sizes and stunning designs available, there is a Designer FireTM product to suit every home.

> Benefits and Features of our Bio Ethanol Fireplaces 1. Virtually No Set Up Required No fixed parts or pipes means our Wall Mounted fireplaces are easy to install, as there’s no need to allow for fuel lines or chimneys. You can even take the fireplace with you if you move house without any hassles. Fireplaces in our Free Standing collection are completely portable and can be moved from one room to another as often you desire. 2. Easy to Use & Maintain Using our fireplaces couldn’t be any easier – there’s no need to chop wood, shovel ash or scrub debris clean like with conventional fireplaces. Bio ethanol fireplaces are easy to fill, light and switch off and are practically maintenance free. 3. Environmentally Friendly Our fireplaces are gentle on the environment and use bio ethanol (a.k.a. methylated spirits), a liquid fuel derived from renewable raw material such as sugarcane, potatoes and wheat. The main by-products are heat, water vapour and a small amount of carbon dioxide. A carbon neutral fuel source, methylated spirits is truly the future of fuel. 4. Attractive & Stylish

Clean & Odourless Bio ethanol is clean burning and so produces no smoke or ash. It is also odourless and only upon extinguishing the flame will there be a smell, similar to that of blowing out a candle, and even that dissipates very quickly. 6. Effective Because our fireplaces do not use any chimneys, flues or vents, the heat radiated is retained in the room, ensuring you stay warm and cosy. In fact, our 1.5L burners have over 90% fuel efficiency and can produce enough heat to warm a space of up to 20m2. For all our fireplaces except for those with round burners, you can even control the intensity of the flame and therefore the amount of heat being generated and the amount of fuel used.

Air flow provisions
The cavity clearances allow for air to flow behind the fireplace and also create a layer of air insulation
The Designer Fire range includes two types of wall mounted fireplaces – those that can simply be mounted onto the surface of a wall, and those that have been designed for recessing into a cavity. Mounting Onto Wall Surface When mounting a fireplace with multiple burners onto the surface of a plasterboard wall, the only preparation required is that a piece of thermal insulating board (which is included with the unit) needs to be affixed to the wall behind the fireplace. When mounting fireplaces with single burners however, and also when mounting on a brick or concrete wall, this backing is not required, and the fireplace can be mounted directly onto the wall.

For fireplaces requiring a cavity, you must ensure that the cavity is lined with brick, concrete, stone or 16mm fire rated plasterboard caulked with fire rated caulking. The other important consideration is that minimum clearances need to be adhered to in order to allow for sufficient airflow behind the fireplace and to create a layer of air insulation between the fireplace and the cavity. The locations of these clearances are shown in the diagrams on the right and clearance measurements are reflected in the cavity dimensions that are listed in our product specifications (see pages 9 & 10).

Each of our wall mounted fireplaces come complete with a mounting bar, various screws for mounting onto different wall types, and detailed instructions on the safe and correct method of mounting that particular model.
