Celebrating Life Through Health and Wellness Concurrent Session Call for Abstracts Deadline: Sunday, April 30, 2017 As Behavioral Health Professionals, the Native American Training Institute, Inc. is inviting you to share your knowledge by presenting at the 7th Annual Native American Training Institute Professional Education Program for Behavioral Health Professionals in Albuquerque, New Mexico, June 24-30, 2017. The NATI has a unique history of educating Native American professionals to bring value to employers, facilities, programs, and communities. We welcome you to submit your application that engages, challenges, and educates behavioral health professionals – including social workers, judicial staff, tribal leaders, nurses, clergy, housing personnel, law enforcement, veterans, gaming industry professionals students, and many more how value the mental health and Native American values. There are a number of speaking opportunities available for you to contribute to your fellow professionals (see attached agenda at a glance for your area of expertise). We are looking for concurrent speakers who reflect the NATI audience of behavioral health professionals and can share their experiences and also provide new thinking. We want to hear your thoughts from your own experience, building on what’s worked (or not) in the real world. The NATI is a mixture of inspiration and implementation. Please note applications for keynote sessions will not be considered at this time. Case studies, hands-on solutions, and strategy explorations are encouraged. Interaction in the classroom that goes beyond Q&A is a must – not only between speaker and attendees but also attendee­to­attendee. Preference will be given to those proposals that include a robust plan for actively engaging the audience. The proposal submitter will serve as the primary contact for NATI and must have a valid email address. All speakers must be registered attendees, exhibitor, or sponsor of the NATI. Proposals must be submitted by Sunday, April 30, 2017 Presentation must follow the original session description submitted by speaker(s). Bios and one credible reference of past speaking engagement must be submitted. To be considered as a presenter, your program must be educational in nature. All NATI classrooms are non­commercial forums – sales presentations will not be accepted. Under no circumstances may a presenter promote a product, service, or anything else representing monetary self­interest. Exhibit booths are available for such activity and promotion. Submission of a proposal does not guarantee acceptance. Speakers will be notified via email if proposal is accepted. All session descriptions, bios and headshots submitted will be used for marketing purposes and final program/agenda. The NATI reserves the right to edit descriptions. NATI will not have access to copiers at the school location; therefore speakers are encouraged to bring pre­assembled handouts to his/her session (maximum of 20 pages per packet) *NATI will not be responsible for cost of copies. The presenter(s) will be responsible for all travel related expenses and will not be reimbursed for such expenses. Discounted hotel rates are posted and available through the NATI host hotel at www.nmnati.org Due to budget constraints, compensation, honorarium and speaker fees are not awarded to speakers. Standard audio/visual equipment includes: one podium with microphone, one screen and one LCD projector. Speakers must provide his/her own laptop computers. *Please see page 3 for additional requests. Speaker gives permission and ownership to NATI to use, duplicate, reproduce and distribute any photographs, video, audio or other recording that are made during the course of the event.
