Ecocentres are recuperation centres that are open to residents of the Montréal urban agglomeration who wish to dispose of recyclables, Household Hazardous Waste (HHW), construction waste and other reusable objects at their own convenience.

Most of the waste material dropped off at the ecocentres will be reclaimed through [R]euse, [R]ecycling, composting or other forms of [V]alorization, thereby reducing significantly the volume of waste sent to landfills.

Ecocentres include a storage area for reusable goods, such as furniture, major and small appliances, sports equipment and clothing. These goods are sold on site.
Fees Island of Montréal residents are entitled to 12 free visits per year up to a maximum of 12m3. Fees apply to businesses, independent workers and residents over the 12m3 limit.

It is very useful to sort your recyclables at home: wood, concrete, soil, metal and other recyclables. At the ecocentre, a ramp leads to a series of containers where Don’t waste, users are invited to dispose of reuse ! their reusable items. Sorting makes it easier to forward these materials to specialized recyclers.

Ecocentres have a permanent sheltered area where residents may drop off their Household Hazardous Waste (HHW), which will be [R]eused, [R]ecycled, [V]alorized, or eliminated safely. They must be dropped off in their original, sealed containers and cannot be transferred into other containers at the site.
