INSTALLATION MANUAL To reset both radio and steering wheel commands, take off the power of UNICOM, press and keep pressed the UNICOM button, supply power to the UNICOM till the LED blinks once RED, still keep pressed the UNICOM button, when the LED will blink RED quickly release the button. LED LED LED BLINK UNICOM PLUS LED UNIVERSAL adapter for resistive OEM Steering Wheel Commands For autoradios with wired or infrared remote control rev. 6.2 11 1 BLINK BUTTON BUTTON BUTTON BUTTON CAUTION UNICOM PLUS is a UNIVERSAL adapter module for OEM steering wheel commands.It is compatible with all vehicles with a resistive protocol and with the autoradios listed in the attached FUNCTIONS TABLE. The unit works both with wired and infrared remote input. A self-learning procedure will make its installation simple and quick.You would be able to assign any function handled by the aftermarket autoradio to each key button on your steering wheel. The functions are listed in the FUNCTIONS TABLE attached. FOR BLAUPUNKT AND PHONOCAR VM024 PROFILES IT IS NECESSARY TO INSERT THE JUMPER AS DESCRIBED IN THE PICTURE BELOW . THE JUMPER DOESN’T BE SET IF YOU INSTALL A BLAUPUNKT 2 (ATLANTA 110-MADRID 210-TORONTO410BT-SAN FRANCISCO310) AND BLAUPUNKT NEW YORK 800. INSTALLATION UNICOM is equipped with a multicore free wired harness, this configuration enable you to use the product with all versions of the most well known OEM steering wheel commands. According to the vehicle models, a certain number of wires must be connected. The different possibilities of installation are described in CONNECTION section. The diagrams shown on the following pages concern the UNICOM with the Alfa Romeo, Renault, Ford, Nissan, Kia, Peugeot and Opel vehiclesl. In order to adapt UNICOM to other vehicles it is necessary to have precise information about the type of cabling present in the vehicle and it’s necessary to have the car and the information about the wire diagram. LEARNING PROCEDURE HOW TO SET THE RADIO PROFILE Once the connections are finished, switch on the ignition to supply the power to UNICOM, The LED will blink RED quickly to indicate that the NO KEYS PRESSED state has been memorized. ON Now it must to select the radio profile (see radio’s table). On default module introduces the first selectable radio that is CLARION, this is displayed by the Led that will flash GREEN one time followed by a pause. Choose the radio of interest then check the position number indicating the number of flashes the LED will emit. If the radio you want to select is the first press SEEK + to confirm, the LED will light green. Instead to select a different radio, press VOLUME + to increase the number of flashes or VOLUME - to decrease. The SEEK button - increases of 10 positions on the radio. LED Once you have chosen the profile desired to confirm the selection press SEEK + on the steering wheel, the LED will become GREEN fix. Now you need to assign to each function of your aftermarket radio an available button/lever on your car steering wheel command. Functions assignement follows the logic described on the attached FUNCTIONS TABLE. The first function available is VOLUME —. Each time you press a button on your steering wheel, the UNICOM LED will briefly blink to indicate that the function has been correctly memorized. The logic of the flashes of the LED is set as follows: GREEN LED flash unit RED LED flash tens For example, 5 green LED flashes, indicates the radio profile in position 5. 2 red LED flashes indicate the radio profile in position 20. 1 red LED flashes followed by 2 green indicate the radio position 12. Once the radio of interest is selected to confirm the selection, press the SEEK + button on the steering wheel. LED Please note that the module has been activate since the LED is fix green. If some troubles are found, please make the RESET and repeat carefully the LEARNING PROCEDURE from the beginning. BUTTON It is possible to manage different RESET levels. To reset only the steering wheel commands and not the radio, press and keep pressed the UNICOM button till the LED starts blinking RED quickly. To skip a function press the UNICOM button ( this operation will be confirmed by a blink of the UNICOM LED). It is possible to manage up to 8 buttons/levers. If less than 8 buttons/levers are present on the steering wheel, it will be necessary to force the exit from the programming manually. To carry out this procedure, you only need to press the last button/lever of the steering wheel till the UNICOM LED lights GREEN. BLINK LED BUTTON LED BUTTON When the programming is finished the UNICOM LED will blink once followed by a pause.
