PRECAUTIONS ON SALES PROMOTION 1.Safety Instructions In the interest of promoting the safest and most efficient use of the Models CG 40EAF (LP) and CG 40EBF (L) Engine Brushcutters by all of our customers, it is very important that when concluding a sale that the salesperson carefully ensure that the buyer seriously recognizes the importance of the Handling Instructions, and fully understands the precautions listed on the Caution Plate attached to each tool. Salespersons should instruct customers to read the instruction manual for how to handle, maintain, inspect and store the tool. In particular, instruct customers to periodically check the product. The persons in charge of sales should take all possible measures to assure the expendible supply system and the repairing system.
A. Handling Instructions Although every effort is made in each step of design, manufacture, and inspection to provide protection against safety hazards, the dangers inherent in the use of any power tool cannot be completely eliminated. Accordingly, the Handling Instructions list general precautions and suggestions on the use of gas-powered tools, and specific precautions and suggestions on the use of backpack engine brushcutters to enhance the safe, efficient use of the tool by customers. Salespersons must be thoroughly familiar with the Handling Instructions in order to offer appropriate guidance to the customer during sales promotion activities.
B. Caution Plate The CG 40EAF (LP) and CG 40EBF (L) units are each provided with a Caution Plate (illustrated below) that lists basic safety precautions on use of these tools. Carefully ensure that the customer fully understands and follows these precautions before using the tool.

C. Specific Instructions for Customers (1) Proper startup and stopping procedures Instruct the user to always perform the proper startup and stopping procedures. In particular, explain the difference in startup procedure between "when the engine is cold" and "when the engine is warm," and about setting the throttle lever to the Idling position to start the engine. (2) Proper fuel mixture The engine brushcutter comes equipped with a 2-cycle gasoline engine. Instruct the user to always use the proper fuel mixture of 25 parts of gasoline to 1 part of 2-cycle motor oil. Also instruct the user to only prepare the required amount of fuel mixture, since it is apt to quickly deteriorate and cannot be stored for a long time. (3) Proper storage When the engine brushcutter is to be stored for a long time without being operated, instruct the user to always empty the fuel tank by idling the engine until it stops, thereby burning up all fuel in the carburetor. Any residual gasoline left in the carburetor will evaporate over time and the oil component will clog the fuel line. In extreme cases, the engine may not start when used the next time. (4) Exclusive use of genuine cutter blades Instruct the user to only use genuine cutter blades supplied by Hitachi Koki Co., Ltd.. The use of other blades may not only reduce brushcutter service life, but could also cause unexpected accidents.
For repair (disassembly and assembly), refer to the parts list in the instruction manual supplied with the product.
