Style of Knife Soft Grip Accents In Handle Non-Slip Base For Stability When Sharpening Cast Aluminum Frame Angle Adjust Adjustable Manual Knife Sharpener Sharpening Instructions: Both the Coarse and Fine sharpening slots will move at the same time to the selected angle. Step 1. Push down to turn knob to the appropriate sharpening angle. If original factory angle is unknown follow suggested angles on knob. (Fig. 1) Fig. 1 Step 2. Insert knife into the appropriate sharpening slot at a 90 degree angle to the sharpener. Step 3. Using moderate pressure pull the knife blade through the sharpening slot (approximately 6-10 pulls depending on the damage or sharpness of the knife). (Fig. 2) Fig. 2 Step 4. Repeat until sharp Step 5. Always finish and polish the knife in the fine slot. Also use the fine slot for regular maintenance. Pull the knife through the slot using moderate pressure (approximately 6-10 pulls) Step 6. Repeat until sharp.Test the sharpness of the knife by cutting a piece of paper, or slicing a vegetable. If the knife does not cut through the item easily, repeat sharpening.Knives made of harder steel may require additional pulls. Sharpening Serrated Knives Pull knife through serrated sharpening slot 2-3 times using light downward pressure. Repeat process until sharp. Warning! This knife sharpener will produce a sharp edge. Use caution when handling a sharp knife. To avoid injury handle sharpened knives with extreme care. Common Sharpening Angles: (degrees per side) Fillet Knives = 16° Kitchen Knives (Asian) = 16° Kitchen Knives (American/Euro) = 20° Pocket Knives = 20° Hunting Knives = 22° Tactical Knives = 22° IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO OR KNOW BEFORE USING THESE PRODUCTS 1. READ OWNER’S MANUAL COMPLETELY. 2. Determine angle of knife from manufacturer or the instruction manual. 3. Adjust sharpener to recommended angle. 4. Use COARSE slot for very dull knives and initial angle setting; FINE slot for finishing or edge maintenance. 5. Hold knife blade level and upright in the slot at all times. NEVER POINT THE BLADE UP OR DOWN, OR LEAN THE BLADE LEFT OR RIGHT. 6. Use moderately light pressure when pulling knife through slots; DON’T PRESS HARD. 7. Pull knife at recommeded speed through slots10 or more times until sharp. 8. Use manual slot for serrated knives; don’t sharpen ceramic knives. Care & Use: Always clean your sharpener after use. Clean with damp cloth or mild brush.
