Tech Works’ Hands free Solution The CI-Series is a modular, expandable solution which gives professionals working in separate rooms and environments the ability to speak to each other, hands free and seamlessly, as if they were in the same room. An operator station can selectively speak with up to 4-different rooms or controlled environments. Inside the controlled environment, there are many speaker and microphone options; from personal headsets to boom mics and ceiling speakers, the CI-Series has a solution for each professional working in your facility. And no one person dictates how the other communicates; customizable flexibility is what makes the CI-Series Collaborative Intercom truly unique.
Features and Benefits With other intercom systems, workers in a controlled environment must all share the same single technology. That means if one person prefers using a headset, they must all use headsets. With the Tech Works CI-Series, any technology can be used in any combination resulting in seamless two-way, hands free communication between workers in the controlled environment and the operators outside that environment. One worker can use a hanging microphone while
listening to a ceiling speaker while another uses an over-thehead, HIPAA compliant, noise cancelling, wireless headset – any combination is possible. Unlike most intercoms, audio quality is not compromised in any Tech Works system. The professional recording studio quality microphone preamplifiers and power amplifiers produce professional, line-level, broadcast quality audio which can interface with video systems and is capable of recording through any of the unused, balanced, line level outputs on a CI-MSI-22. Professionals working in the controlled environment can even choose to add a PA-402 to the system and enjoy listening to music, from their own device, via screw terminals or 3.5mm jack. The system will automatically turn down the music when someone is trying to reach them and turn it up when the call is complete. The CI-Series is Telemedicine Compatible. The audio from the person calling can be routed to any and/or all stations on the network selectively. Cost of installation for the entire CI-Series system is very low. This is because the system is very easy and intuitive to install; the installer doesn’t need to know or worry about acoustics or advanced wiring, just how to terminate and connect CAT6 wiring, which provides communication to the entire system.

In healthcare, cardio catheterization laboratories known as cath labs as well as operating rooms are the most common controlled environments you will see professionals using the CISeries to communicate hands
free with workers on the outside of their room. Imaging facilities and departments use the system to communicate with patients undergoing X-Rays, MRI scans, or other imaging. Child observation, mental health observation, and sleep study labs also benefit from the hands free communication the CI-Series offers. Detention facilities use the system in interrogation rooms or anywhere prisoners, staff, or visitors need to be monitored for safety. Industrial clean rooms which could be working with anything from electronics to medications to explosives inside their controlled environment communicate with ease thanks to the hands free nature of the CI-Series Collaborative Intercom.
System Components The CI-ODC-1 is a dedicated two-way master station with circuitry for a complete sound system in one package. It includes a speaker, gooseneck cardioid pattern condenser microphone, level control, selection buttons for ‘listen’ and ‘talk’, and both a foot switch and headset jack. The CI-ODC-4 is very similar to the CI-ODC-1 but was designed and built to communicate with up to 4 controlled environments with all of the features of the CIODC-1. The CI-MSI-22 is a 2-input, 2-output, microphone / speaker interface that provides power to speakers inside the controlled environment while connecting microphones to the system. When connected in the middle of the system, the CI-MSI-22 acts as a router for the entire system. The CI-HSI-41 combines up to 4-wireless headsets. You can have up to 3- CI-HSI-41s on your system for a total of up to 12-headsets. Collaboration happens when the audio from the headsets is combined and sent through the CI-BUSS where it can be routed anywhere in the system. The PA-402 is a professional power amplifier with background music and paging inputs. The program audio input gives the user their choice of screw terminals or a 3.5mm jack which can plug directly into docking stations or audio devices to be broadcast throughout the system.The page audio input is screw terminals or a PA-BUSS input,which can also be used for an additional paging microphone or handset. Our Foot Switches are ruggedly designed for harsh environments with a rubber non-slip pad and 10-foot rubber jacketed cord. In the control room they are used for push-to-talk when hands are busy or used as a call
button in the controlled environment to summon an operator. Mobility is key in controlled environments and our headsets give professionals just that. Using DECT technology, these headsets provide secure two-way communications between the controlled environment and operators. The CS-520 is a wireless dual-muff noise cancelling headset with an adjustable boom microphone. The CS540 is a flexible, light weight, wireless, over-the-ear-worn, convertible headset which offers you a choice of four wearing options. Standard controls on either headset operates features of the CI-Series system such as listen, talk, mic mute, and level. There are several microphone options for different needs. The PRO-42 is a boundary microphone which is a high quality and cost effective solution mounting close to the audio source. Our PRO-45 hanging cardioid microphone is a very high quality and easy to install microphone; just watch out for hanging equipment. The PRO-SGM is a shotgun microphone which easily mounts to a wall and can be easily directed toward the audio source. Our PRO-ODM Operator desk microphone can be used in a remote location where someone may not have a headset but still needs to contribute to the conversation. Our HM-1 omni-directional hidden microphone mounts to a simple wall plate and is very effective for observation areas. We’ve selected the best and most popular 25V speakers to pair with the products we build. The System 2 is a wall mount speaker, the System 21 is a round ceiling mount speaker, and the System 5 is also a ceiling speaker which replaces a standard size acoustic ceiling tile.
