Scaleable Capacity: - 2000—supports up to 30 voice/fax channels - 2500—supports up 90 voice/fax channels - 4000—supports up to 180 voice/fax channels - 6000—supports up to 240 voice/fax channels, up to 10 T-1, 8 E-1 connections - 6200—supports up to 240 voice/fax channels, up to 8 T-1/E-1 connections Integrated Voice and Fax: Media Gateways simultaneously handle voice and fax transmission through universal ports, eliminating the need to dedicate ports to specific types of transmissions. A universal port can handle any type of call that comes to it, either a voice or fax call. Universal ports are more flexible and cost-efficient than dedicating ports to specific functions. Call Routing Features: - On-Net/Off-Net Calling - Call Plans - Level Plans - Call Address Translation Low Call Latency: Media Gateways have a measured latency, the lag between transmission and reception of a voice message, of approximately 100 milliseconds. Even with the addition of a typical 100 ms to 150 ms of network-induced latency, the total system latency typically experienced with Power~Suite Media Gateways is only between 200 ms to 250 ms, which appears to be a real-time call to a person.
•
Echo Cancellation: Media Gateways employ the G.165 standard to provide clear, virtually echo-less voice transmission.
•
High-Quality Voice over IP supporting the latest ITU standards: G723.1, G.729A, G.711

As more and more service providers and enterprise users look to send voice over packet-based WAN services, Cirilium continues to drive the consolidation with breakthroughs in the enabling technologies. The Cirilium Power~Suite Media Gateways use advanced compression and modulation techniques to provide toll-quality voice over Internet Protocol networks.
The Power~Suite Media Gateway Package includes the Media Gateway and Call Manager components. The Media Gateway is an integrated hardware and software product that converts voice and fax into H.323 compliant packets that can be sent over Internet Protocol networks, then transmits these packets over the network. At the destination, another Power~Suite Media Gateway or other H.323 gateway converts these packets back into circuit-switched voice and fax. The Media Gateway is connected on one side to the traditional telephone network switch, or to a PBX, and on the other side to the Internet Protocol network. Power~Suite Media Gateways feature a parallel processing architecture for optimal redundancy, as well as carrier-class scalability. The Media Gateways are industrial grade, rack mountable chassis that support hot swappable card insertion. In addition, they’re designed to meet various interconnection and density needs. The Call Manager is an integrated hardware and software product that allows the Power~Suite Media Gateways to interoperate with H.323 gatekeepers and other vendor's approved H.323 gateways. The Call Manager also supports MGCP and SS7, and will support other protocols in the near future, such as SIP. The Power~Suite Media Gateways include the: Media Gateway 2000 • Media Gateway 2500 • Media Gateway 4000 • Media Gateway 6000/6200 •

Media Gateway 2000 and 2500 Stackable Solutions for Pay-as-You Grow Flexibility. As stackable chassis, the Media Gateways 2000 and 2500 deliver flexible, comprehensive solutions with the greatest possible cost control. For small- to medium-sized installations with requirements for future growth, the 2000 and 2500 Media Gateways provide a flexible fit for today and a simplified platform for adding new applications tomorrow. The two-slot 2000 chassis can be expanded up to four units for a total of eight slots. The four-slot 2500 chassis is expandable up to two units for a total capacity of eight slots. A typical configuration can support analog or digital line interfaces, as well as Ethernet for the transport of voice and fax. The Media Gateway 2000 chassis has dual power supplies for redundancy. The 2500 chassis comes as a single or dual power supply chassis. When connecting two 2500 chassis together, the power bus is shared, providing dual load-sharing power for the single supply chassis.

Media Gateway Specifications
Media Gateway 4000 The Smart Solution for the Smaller Central Site. The Media Gateway 4000 is a versatile, reliable, eight-slot solution that supports up to 180 voice/fax channels. This mid-range Media Gateway offers a scalable, packetized voice solution with the “toll quality” that customers expect. Using the 4000, service providers can build the infrastructure needed to offer aggressively-priced voice and fax services such as international calling or call debit cards using IP, the Internet, intranets, frame relay, VSAT and more – all with a limited initial investment. For the small-to mid-sized central office, the Media Gateway 4000 offers capabilities critical to a service provider’s business. As the network becomes congested, calls can be reallocated based on user-defined priorities, preventing dropped calls. Service providers also benefit from excellent fault tolerance, integrated switching and comprehensive billing system support.
Enterprise users will find the Media Gateway 4000 a perfect voice and fax integration solution for large branch offices and small central sites. The 4000 lets you easily consolidate voice and fax traffic, optimize bandwidth and facilitate growth. Both service providers and enterprises can maximize their current solution with the 4000’s scalable platform— the 4000 can easily grow as your business grows. You can upgrade to the Media Gateway 6000 by using cards from your 4000.
Media Gateway 6000 and 6200 The High-Density Solution for Large Central Sites. The Media Gateway 6000 is a 16-slot solution that concentrates up to 240 voice/fax channels on a single network node. For service providers competing for today’s end user business, a high-density, cost-effective packetized voice solution is a must. Scalable and highly reliable, the Media Gateway 6000 is your best option for price and voice density. Offering all the benefits and applications of the 4000, the Media Gateway 6000 allows a much higher density solution with true “toll quality” voice for larger central offices. Enterprise users will find the Media Gateway 6000 a perfect voice and fax integration solution for large central sites. The 6000 makes upgrading and expanding your network an easy-tomanage proposition. Its expandable chassis and self-contained cards let you add capabilities to extend the life of your current voice system as your network grows to accommodate newer services. The Media Gateway 6200 also supports a maximum of 16 port processors and up to 240 voice/fax channels on a single network node. The 6200 chassis would be used instead of the 6000 primarily when interoperability between third-party gateways is required.
