F r a n z i s k a K a r c h e r Our radio play "The Wall of Change" is about a village which was surrounded by a big wall. The people, called the Tidies did not know what was behind the wall and they did not care about it. But then one day the wall broke down and then the people saw the world. Some different looking people came to the place, where the wall broke down and the Tidies were afraid of these new people. Some teenagers of the Tidies wanted to know more about the strangers and they were the only ones who talked with the strangers. They had a conflict with them and the teenagers went with the strangers to their community. There they found love and happiness, and they decided to live there forever. The Tidies attacked the so-called Funnies and after some days the Funnies made the plan, that the teenagers should go back to their old community and explain to them why they are now living with the Funnies. The teenagers went to the Tidies and explained to them that they had to accept the Funnies because they could learn much from them. The head of the Tidies wanted to talk to the Funnies and together they had fun. They decided that they did not want to be two communities any more There will be one community in which the Tidies and Funnies live in peace together. Giulia Schober – these are only some English sayings, which have something to do with “wall”. For the English-competition 2009 we summed up a few of them and put them together in a movie. We had lots of fun, and it was not easy to find films without laughs. With Anita Steiger as a girl in love, Rhiannon Kleinwächter, as a girl with thrilling secrets, Angela Hansen as a strict professor, Verena Rößler as another girl in love and Sophie Schmidt as an upset student (on the picture from left to right). Sophie Schmidt W a l l f l o w e r , w a l l s h a v e e a r s , c l i m b i n g u p t h e w a l l s , d o n ’ t l e t t h i s f u r t h e r t h a n t h e s e f o u r w a l l s First when we got to know our topic “The Wall” we wanted to make a film about a Jewish boy who lost his parents in the Second World War. But after some time we realized that it was impossibly to achieve. After this idea failed we wanted to write a diary of a teenage girl who discovers it when she is already a grandmother. This is what we actually did. We planned the major happenings and then we just started to write the diary entries. The Diary of Rosie Moore plays in the time of our leading character’s first love with all its ups and downs. Rosie is a girl that has to do very much housework. She did not have a life like teenagers have today. So we had to put our own experiences in former time, which was not always that easy. We asked our own grandmothers about their youth and with all these points we created the character Rosie, her life and her story. Luisa Lauterbach The film "Heartbeat's Dance" is not a usual love story as it might appear at a first glance. It is a drama containing wordly wisdom. It is all about dancing. Alice dances for her life and if she wins a dance competition, she will have the chance to study at the best dance company in the world. Her best friend and dancing partner Chris practises as often as he can with her, but suddenly he has an accident while he is dancing with her. Alice needs a quick replacement. Lynn, the dance teacher, proposes her brother Mick as a substitue partner, who has already been dancing for 10 years. Both meet and start to rehearse because there is only one week left to the dance competition. They get the feeling that there could be more between them than just being dance partners and after the training both get to know each other better. Time passes. When Chris wants to look how Alice and Mick get along, he is shocked and hurt because he is afraid of losing Alice as he fell in love with her many years ago. But Alice can convince him that nothing happened between her and Mick and that nothing is as it seemed because they just had a break and were discussing some things. The next day Chris catches them red-handed when they are kissing. He cannot believe it and is upset and distressed. He has loved her for so long, he has never lost his hope and she abused his trust. He is so desperate that he finally decides to commit suicide to end his sorrow. Mick tries to comfort Alice but she cannot stand the thought that everything was her fault.Everything started at the place in the vineyards and everything ended there. Life is a circle. Sometimes a vicious circle! Natali Blem Our story “The Wall Comes Closer“ tells the story of a young girl called Jessica who has to cope with her everyday life. The wall which moves closer whenever a new problem appears symbolizes the loneliness and the sadness Jessica feels. Jessica’s father died a few month ago, that is why she feels very abandoned and lonely. Her mother feels the same way and can’t accept her husband’s death. She vents her sadness on Jessica and because of that the relationship with her daughter is not the best. After her father’s death, Jessica retires into herself more and more from her friends. She doesn’t tell them about her feelings and because her friends do not understand why Jessica is not interested in meeting them any longer, they are very disappointed. They try to retune Jessica and bring her real self back, but after their attempts were in vain, they finally give up. In the end everything clears up though and Jessica speaks with her mother and her friends about her behaviour and with their help, she finds back into everyday life. Simon Hensel
