Benchtop TM range
Temperature : from -65°C to +200°C Benchtops enable a product to be put through temperature tests in order to reveal its possible defects or to determine its life lenght. They can be used at any stage — from research to production — and are particularly valued in quality control because of the tests easy reproductibility. Their self-sufficiency in use (an electrical socket is enough) and their dimensions grant them a great mobility : they can be installed on a table or a laboratory bench or, when on the cart (optional), be at working level. The TM range exists in 2 models : 55 litres and 80 litres. Each model offers different characteristics : ? TM : full door, single-stage compressor (viewing window and cart as options) from -30°C to + 150°C (+200°C as an option) ? TMX : full door, cascade compressors (viewing window and cart as options) from -60°C to +150°C (+200°C as an option) ? TMT : viewing window and light, cart, cascade compressors from -65°C to +150°C (+200°C as an option) ! Temperature rate : 3°C/min* within the range** *depending on the use conditions
**calculation according to the NFX 15-140 standard
Regulation TM benchtops are equipped in standard with PID regulator that has an accuracy of ±0,15% within the range. It allows the cabinet temperature to be regulated on a set point and/or a dwell and to be digitally displayed. Data are transmitted by RS 232 (protocol modbus) and RS 485 connections. Options : ! F4 type regulator-programmer ! RS 232 and RS 485 cables ! Possibility of PC piloting (via RS 232, protocol modbus)
The TM benchtop consists of a stainless steel cabinet and of a removable griding on racks where the test samples can be put onto. A 50x60mm notch on the left side makes it easier for the cables to go through and the right side (hinges side) is cut by a 70mm diameter hole. The safety is optimized by an external thermostat that can be adjusted by the user. The benchtop is also equipped with a 220V safety socket and a timer. Various options are offered, such as a cart with pivoting and braking casters (as standard on the TMT model), a multiglass viewing window with light (as standard on the TMT model), extra gridings or port holes, a high and low temperature safety controller, a temperature portable recorder, etc.
Functioning principles : A double air flow ventilation ensures a perfect homogeneity in the cabinet and allows a heating / cooling so that the set temperature is reached faster. resistor double air flow ventilation ventilator

This new generation of climatic chambers offers an matchless level of performance and an extraordinary balance between precision, ergonomics and reliability. It is equipped with the very latest Spirale2 software with all its power. Using an advanced technology for controlling thermal equipment, Spirale2 contributes to performance, output and tests improvement. The power of the refrigerating machinery is developed with total control, the thermal equilibrium are permanently controlled, that ensure an excellent reliability.
Spirale2 is also an unparalleled recorder, with instinctive programming, self calibration, simplicity of use in a network, and many other functions such as autotest, a system that allows the machine to check the proper operation of its own parts.
Mechanical design Whatever length of time you need to spend using your climatic chamber these moments must be moments of pleasure; not only where comfort and functionality are concerned, but also in regard to the appearance and the feel. The skills of both designers and manufacturers have been associated so that each element of the machine is easy to handle, ultra resistant and well designed. Our chambers are built to produce stresses as different and varied as our customers require. The mechanical design must meet and guarantee these various modes of operations, without being subjected to the strains imposed on the tested products. The test cabinets are made of stainless steel, mounted on a floating system in order to absorb expansion without being deformed during more or less high temperature variations. The chamber all are welded under argon gas, in order to guarantee absolute water proofing during humidity tests. The extremely strong bodywork is made for most of the chambers in stainless iron steel coated with epoxy powder paint. The reason of this technical choice is the total resistance of the parts subjected to humidity (such as the door, for example, when opened).
Excal 220: with a useable volume of 206 dm
3,
it is the smallest of the range. A smaller volume would not have had any noticeable influence neither on price, nor on performance. Compact and noiseless, it has been designed for laboratories or production and fits well wherever mobility is essential thanks to its narrow width which enables to pass through most laboratory doors.
Excal 540: with a useable volume of 540 dm
3,
this is the medium size model that combines large useful volume with small measurements, which is always easy to handle and transportable thanks to its swiwel castors, it benefits of all best technological features. Our statistics show that about 80% of "Hot-cold" and "Hotcold-humidity" tests are performed in this volume.
Excal 770: with a useable volume of 770 dm , the 770 is the benchmark model of the range. With its large 3
useful volume and absolutely uncompromising performance (one model reaches 90°C), it offers in standard the possibility to test heavy loads. Its useful dimensions are adapted to the industrial market where it stands out on account of its performance, its sturdiness and its low noise level.
Excal 1400: with a useable volume of 1416 dm
3
it is the biggest model in the range today. Power and ruggedness are both present. Made for intensive use, this large volume with its astonishing performance combines excellent reliability with large power optimal control. In extreme conditions, it is able to carry out your tests while optimising the power consumption. Its ability to deal with large loads with or without humidity will surprise you, and this is done with laboratory like precision. The 1400 series offers the same levels of quality, accuracy and has the same equipments as the rest of the range with a noise level unrelated to the power installed.
Thermodynamics The measuring precision allows the detection of variations smaller than 0.01°C, typical temperature control stability is of + 0.1°C in hot test and smaller than +0.2°C in cold test. The chamber temperature homogeneity is outstanding, up to +0.5°C on certain models, at ambient temperature across 9 points of measures. The chambers, even the most powerful (20°C/min), run with the same accuracy on gentle or steep slopes. The possibility of heat dissipation of your product in test are very high. High power dissipation by the unit under test is possible during the chamber operation in hot or cold operation up to 170°C. The heat exchanger tubes and flanges are entirely made of copper. The exchange factor K is larger than 20.
Hygrometry CLIMATS has chosen to produce humidity with a dew-point bath, the most stable system and the closest to natural phenomena. Easy to use, it is totally reliable. Other systems exist such as the boiler used for 25 years by our sister company SAPRATIN (especially for large volumes). Spirale2 allows you to use either of the two principles as you wish, with dew-point or psychrometric measurement and a overheated bath. The accuracy of the dew-point system enables the control of down to +0.5gr water/m3 of dry air. This precision allows a display of 1/10 % of RH. The standard hygrometry control ranges from 10 to 98% for temperature range from +10°C to +90°C, limited by a minimum dew-point of 4 to 8°C dewpoint depending upon the models. In the dew-point system, the sensor is composed of a Pt 100 protected by a grid sock in stainless steel. It is reliable and shows no measurement drift in time. For psychrometric measurement (free option) a cotton wick is added to the stainless steel casing and the Spirale2 computing system must be switched to the appropriate mode of calculation. Option: regulation and measurement with capacitive sensor. Negative dew-point hygrometry (capacitive sensor mandatory.) This option is available for the entire Excal range with minimum dew points of -10°C or -20°C depending on the models (-20°C on request). For heat dissipation during humid test, please consult us.

That is why we have included in Spirale2 complete support for the calibration of our equipment according to the latest standards in force. You can very simply tune your chamber with your own reference measurement bench. We can supply you with information that will enable you to carry out automatic calibration procedures yourself. Any point you choose can be part of the calibration cycle! Tuning temperature and humidity: Spirale2 is equipped with a 3 dimension spreadsheet of tuning which can be manually or automatically completed with values read from a reference measurement system compatible with our PC. We carry out systematically an automatic tuning cycle on our equipment according to the procedures and standards in force. For this purpose, we do have calibrated reference instruments connected and communicating with the Spirale2 software. Our aim: total quality.
Maintenance The “sensitive” part of a climatic chamber is of course its refrigerating circuit. With Spirale 2, this system is under high surveillance! The numerous sensors (pressure, intensity, temperature) allow constant optimisation of its operating conditions thus increasing its working life. Obviously, all this information can be displayed on the screen: high and low pressure manometers, intensity, overheating control, fluid quantity, compressors operating conditions. The graphs issued from the on line non stop recording of these parameters, give us all the information needed to analyse and diagnose defects. Therefore, the power of compressor can be 100% used constantly at all speeds with complete reliability. The use of integral manometers avoids losing fluid during pressure tests. (Annual legal checking obligation). In the case of momentary water pressure drop: no heating: the system adapts for increased reliability. Instructions book, electrical and refrigerating diagrams are included in the software and can be printed in "PDF" format.
(*) The descriptions and features on this document are given only for information and are not contractual. CLIMATS and its subsidiaries keep the right to carry out any modifications without notice. Nominal test conditions : empty chamber without option, water condensation type (”HE” or “TE”), clean cooling water at temperature of 20°C with a flow and pressure rate matching the technical specifications of the chamber. Main power supply of 400V tri 50hz. The average speed rate is given in K/min from +150°C to -20°C on the sensor placed in the air flow. The dimensions do not include the thickness of shelf supports (25mm). The noise level measured with an A weighting curve corresponds to a measure in a free field, the chamber stabilized at 0°C. Nota : performances of air condensation type machines (”HA” or “TA”) can be slightly different (refer to quotation).
