Applications The CM-EZ-8 is an integrated, 2-way, flush mount, in-ceiling speaker for general background and satellite/subwoofer applications. Engineered for music & paging installations, the CM-EZ-8 is ideal for retail stores, restaurants, airports, churches, schools, conference centers and boardrooms. Audio Performance SoundTube’s CM-EZ-8 incorporates an 8” driver and 7.3 liter steel backcan for extended frequency range and high quality sound. Insta-Stall™ Technolgy SoundTube’s integrated CM-EZ-8 design includes unique blind mount SnapCam technology and a 21-gauge steel tile bridge ensuring rapid and secure installation in any sheetrock or drop-tile ceiling. For use in air handling spaces, the CM-EZ-8 includes a backcan and flexible conduit clamp for easy ordering, stocking and installation. Data Acquisition All performance data acquired at SoundTube’s new Technical Measurement Center (TMC) are analyzed using standardized measurement techniques, including anechoic and Time Delay Spectrometry (TDS). Performance, development, and data acquisition tools include: TEF20 Suite, CLIO, LMS, LEAP, and proprietary modeling software. EASE data is acquired

Architectural Specifications
Mechanical Drawings
The loudspeaker shall consist of a 200mm (8”) low-frequency transducer and one 25mm (1”) high-frequency transducer with a frequency dividing network installed in a sealed enclosure. The low frequency voice coil diameter shall be 25mm (1”). Performance specifications of a typical production unit shall be as follows: Usable frequency range shall extend from 50 Hz - 20 kHz. The loudspeaker shall be available with selectable 70.7/100 Volt and 8 Ohm bypass wires. Taps shall be nominally 1.25W @ 70.7V (2.5W @ 100V), 2.5W @ 70.7V (5W @ 100V), 5W @ 70.7V (10 W @ 100V), 10W @ 70.7V (tap wire not used @ 100 V). The frequency-dividing network shall have a crossover frequency of 5.6 kHz. Rated power capacity of the components and network shall be at least 25 Watts continuous RMS power.

Designed for both 70.7/100 Volt and 8 Ohm applications, the CM-EZ-8 is factory preset to the 70.7/100 Volt operating mode, with an 8 Ohm selector switch located on the baffle.

CM-EZ-8 installation shall include a 4-point blind mount system using spring-loaded cams and a tile bridge. Packaged complete with UL listed flex conduit clamp, tile bridge, grille, cutout template and paint shield, the integrated CM-EZ-8 in ceiling speaker is engineered for high performance and rapid installation in plenum spaces. The CM-EZ-8 incorporates a secondary attachment bolt for added security during seismic activity, or where required by code.

The CM-EZ-8’s spring-loaded cams are adaptable to stable surfaces including drop tile & sheetrock with a material thickness ranging from 1/2” (12.70 mm) to 3/4” (19.05 mm). For surfaces thicker than 5/8” (15.87 mm), proper installation requires removing the rubber feet on the cam mechanisms.
