IMPORTANT
This is a direct burial installation
All fittings received in sealed bags with protective caps in place.
All fittings kept in sealed bags until ready for use.
Riser pipe adapter protective cap left on while attaching fitting to riser pipe assembly.
Riser pipe adapter protective cap left on until connected to tee or elbow.
Protective cap left on tees, elbows and coax riser pipe adapter until connected to coupled pipe.
Inside of coax coupling insert greased with white lithium grease (not the swage) prior to coupling to FlexWorks piping (very important).
FlexWorks piping cut squarely with OPW-FCS pipe cutter; not a hacksaw.
FlexWorks pipe pushed down completely into coupling prior to engaging the coupling machine.
Protective cap replaced onto coupling immediately upon completion of coupling to FlexWorks piping.
This is an Access Pipe installation
Date:
Note: On installations with Access Pipe, the bullnose fitting takes the place of one protective cap and is left on until ready to connect coupled pipe to elbow or tee. Direct bury sites require the Flexible Entry Boot to be placed on the piping before attaching the coax coupling.
Riser pipe/shear valve assembly disconnected from stabilizer bar when ready to attach tee/elbow to coupled pipe run to avoid misalignment of secondary O ring. After Installation of coax pipe adapter, 36” test tube attached to 1/4” female NPT port with a liquid pipe joint compound; not Teflon tape.
Just prior to coupling pipe run to tee, elbow or coax pipe adapter, fittings were inspected to ensure cleanliness.
Secondary space left open to atmosphere during 15 minute primary pre-test.
Primary pipe tested at 10 psi over target test pressure for 15 minutes, then lowered to target pressure (i.e. 50 psi target + 10 psi = 60 psi starting pressure, then after 15 minutes lower pressure to 50 psi.)
Note: 50 psi is our recommended minimum test pressure. However, some regulators/customers require higher pressures.
Secondary tested between 5 & 10 psi after primary test at target pressure.
All connections checked for leaks by applying soap bubbles to each joint or by another industry accepted practice, (i.e. helium detector, ultra-sonic, etc).
Any leaks observed during testing will be reported to OPW-FCS Field Services Department upon discovery.
All other products installed as per OPW-FCS installation instructions.
Protective cap left on tees, elbows and coax pipe adapter until connected to coupled pipe.
Contractor has been informed and acknowledges that the warranty will be void if any individual who has not been trained by an OPW-FCS sanctioned instructor, installs the coaxial, swivel, or barbed fittings.
