Better Visibility T he LED Cobra Head is your best choice for energy-efficient, environmentally friendly lighting for roads, highways and thoroughfares. LED Cobra Heads use up to 50% less energy than traditional metal halide fixtures and maintain virtually all their luminosity for the 10+ year life of the light, significantly reducing replacement and maintenance costs. And proprietary photometric design techniques minimize glare and improve nighttime visibility to deliver superior illumination and roadway safety. Cobra Heads meet all LEED requirements for light pollution reduction credits by minimizing light trespass, reducing sky-glow, and reducing the impact on nocturnal environments. LED Cobra Heads comply with ANSI requirements for side-mounted horizontal luminaires and mount easily on a 1¼” NPS or 2” NPS arm with ±6° of leveling adjustment. The Cobra Head luminaire is available with an optional IP-66 rating, IESNA Type II light distribution pattern, and polycarbonate or acrylic lens. SPECIFICATIONS: Housing: One-piece cast, low copper (<0.4% Cu) aluminum alloy housing with integral slipfitter. Lens Frame: One-piece cast, low copper (<0.4% Cu) aluminum alloy lens frame. Stainless steel hinges provided for attachment to housing. Mounting: Mounts easily on 1 1/4” NPS arm (adapter availabe for 2” NPS arm). ±6º of leveling and adjustment. LED Modules: The LED modules utilize an aluminum metal clad board for maximum heat transfer, thus leading to longer life. The modules consist of various secondary optics allowing direction and intensity of the light to be tightly controlled. Control of the LEDs allow EvoLucia fixtures to maintain light levels equal to or greater than that of MH and HPS fixtures at a much lower energy consumption levels. LED Driver: The LED driver is a DC input device with a wide input voltage range of 10 to 30 VDC, providing for flexibility in the system voltage. It utilizes a buck-boost circuit to ensure that power is transferred from the input source (typically a battery) to the LEDs in the most efficient manner. Its constant-current output is monitored by intelligent protection circuitry to ensure years of reliable operation.

Effectively spreads heat to ensure long component life of LEDs and electronic components and provides precise alignment of LEDs and lenses. Optionally available with tempered borosilicate flat glass lens.
Finish/Color: Finish is TGIC thermoset polyester powder coat paint, 2.5 mil nominal thickness; A.S.T.M. B-119, 2500 hour salt spray test endurance rating. The standard color is Light Gray.
