Place the PERMANENT FILTER in the FILTER HOLDER. 6. Using the COFFEE SCOOP, place two scoops of coffee in the PERMANENT FILTER. 7. Lower the COVER. 8. Place the TRAVEL MUG on the PAD. 9. COFFEE MAKER OPERATION IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS MAKING A CUP OF COFFEE All the safety and operating instructions should be read, adhered to and followed before the unit is operated. Before making your first cup of coffee, clean the coffee maker by running it with water only. Do not add coffee. Thoroughly clean the coffee mug by washing it with warm, soapy water several times prior to use. DANGER The coffee maker turns on automatically and the BREW INDICATOR illuminates the first time you plug it into an electrical outlet. Wait until the unit shuts off automatically before you proceed to make coffee. 1. Always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet immediately after using. Note: If BREW/POWER is pressed when the unit is not plugged in, the unit will be “On” when you plug it in. 2. Fill the TRAVEL MUG with cold water. 10 2. Do not use while bathing or in a shower. 3. Do not place or store unit where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink. 4. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid. 5. Do not reach for unit that has fallen into water.
