ColorBurst for Mac OS X is a high-end job manager that provides the ultimate in color control for photography, fine art printing, and digital proofing. ColorBurst drives Epson printers as a CMYK device, not an RGB device. This allows ColorBurst to achieve better saturated colors with total control over the black ink build.

ColorBurst includes linearization files, ICC Profiles, and preconfigured environments for all Epson inks and media, including UltraChrome inks. ColorBurst is designed for out–of–the–box use. Simply choose your printer environment and either drop your files into the ColorBurst queue or print directly from your application.

Whether you’re a designer, photographer, or fine art printer, ColorBurst has a solution for you. GENERAL FEATURES All versions of ColorBurst offer the following features. Print Server ColorBurst can be used as a print server to allow direct printing from multiple computers. Printing is supported from Mac OS X, OS 9, and Windows. Quality Output RIP, color correct, and print on-the-fly. ColorBurst High Quality screening. Completely neutral black and white prints — no metamerism. Automatic color correction utilizing the ColorSync ICC Engine. TCP/ IP and USB support.
For Photography and Fine Art Provides all of the features needed for photography and fine art — completely neutral black-and-whites, no metamerism, linearization, cusomizable ink settings, and true Open ICC Architecture for full ICC profile support. Print directly from your favorite applications, such as Photoshop, from any networked computer.
16-Bit Raster Image Support ColorBurst recognizes CMYK, RGB, Lab, 16-bit, and color-mapped TIFFs, including TIFFs with LZW compression. RGB and CMYK JPEG files are also supported. Job Manager Jobs can be reordered, deleted, or placed on hold to be processed later. Printed files can be archived for reprinting without having to re–RIP them, saving processing time. Linearization All versions of ColorBurst come prelinearized to give customers the best results right out of the box. Using linearization ensures that your profiles are always accurate. As your machine ages it can always be brought back to its original state with ColorBurst. Input Profiles ColorBurst has separate Input ICC Profile settings for RGB, CMYK, and grayscale images. Embedded profiles can be turned on or off — this is a must for any user who is embedding profiles in Photoshop or any other ICC–savvy application. Output Profiles ColorBurst not only utilizes CMYK output profiles but we also have included a proofing feature for pre–press workflows. ColorBurst users can simulate any press or other CMYK output device through the Proofer feature.
For Digital Proofing Includes all of the features of X·Photo plus PANTONE® color support. ColorBurst’s AutoSpot™ technology greatly enhances the accuracy PANTONE colors.
