Communication PSS Ethernet PSS Ethernet, PSS1 Ethernet Description The communications module PSS(1) Ethernet can be used to connect a programmable safety system from the PSS 3000 or PSS 3100 series to Ethernet. The following options are available: ● Connecting systems from the PSS 3000 or PSS 3100 series ● Connection to systems from other manufacturers (e.g. Siemens S5/ S7) ● Connection to graphics systems ● Connection to a host PC at control level Communication is possible via TCP/ IP, H1 or RFC 1006. If parameters are set for Ethernet connections, communication with the named protocols can run in parallel. The Ethernet connection is configured using a PC. Menu-driven configuration software is available for operating systems Windows 95, Windows 2000 and Windows NT. This is available as part of the software set “PSS SW Ethernet Set”. The configuration can be made online via one of the Ethernet interfaces. Parameters are stored in the module’s non-volatile Flash Memory. Special standard function blocks are required in the PSS as communication drivers for data exchange. These are available as part of the software set “PSS SW Ethernet Set”. On the CPU types listed below, the modules are only supported from the version numbers stated: • PSS CPU from Version 2.3 • PSS1 CPU from Version 1.7 • PSS SF CPU from Version 1.3 • PSS1 SF CPU from Version 1.3 • PSS SB CPU from Version 1.5 • PSS1 SB CPU from Version 1.5
