It seems overwhelming and expensive. Take the “pain“ out and learn to repair glass broken in doors, windows, panels and more. Each student will be provided a small glass panel for the purpose of breaking out a piece and learning how to replace it. Enjoy restoring a beautiful piece of work and having a good sense of accomplishment after. You can save money, earn money and who knows, maybe you’ll get all crazy and want to learn how to make your own panel creations. Learn to cut, grind, wrap, and solder. We will practice with large and small pieces and gain an understanding of why it works with small pieces that are a lot more expensive. Then the steps will be connected to music and rhythm through routines, to make remembering simple and fun. Game management, rules, etiquette, proper use of woods and irons will also be covered. • March 23, 24, & 25 | Wednesday-Friday Time: 5:30-7:00 PM Place: Landa Park Golf Course Instructor: Quintin Alexander Cost: $80 FIRE IT UP PILATES MAT 16SP-153 Pilates Mat work is a body conditioning routine that seeks to build flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination without adding muscle bulk. In addition, Pilates increases circulation and helps to sculpt the body and strengthen the body’s “core” or “powerhouse” (torso). People who do Pilates regularly, feel they have better posture, are less prone to injury and experience better overall health. Pilates also improves your mental and physical well-being, increases flexibility and strengthen muscles. In this Pilates Mat class we will be using controlled movements in the form of mat exercises. Beginners to intermediate practitioners welcome, modifications are always provided. *Bring your yoga mat! • Jan. 18-Feb. 22 | Mondays | 6 wks Time: 5:30 - 6:30 PM Place: Bestia Martial Arts Studio 4306 FM 482, New Braunfels Instructor: Tamara Masters Cost: $60 6 - Community Education Spring 2016 YOGA FOR ACTIVE SENIORS 16SP-154 This class is for active seniors who are looking to improve their range of motion and more. Exploring yoga is not always about downward facing dogs. Hatha Yoga uses postures (asanas) and stretches in combination with the breath to develop flexibility and relaxation. Hatha Yoga encourages proper alignment of the body and brings balance, strength, and calmness to all who practice. This class will be a gentle way to stretch and build strength. You will probably not work up a sweat in a Hatha Yoga class, but you should end up leaving this class feeling longer, looser and more relaxed. Please check with your doctor first, before considering attending any fitness class. Bring a bottle of water and a mat. Zumba toning is the class for you if you like to work out with weights and dance while you do it. Zumba toning sculpts the body through dance and cardio, targeting the abs, thighs, hips and other muscles throughout the body. You will need two lb. weights for the toning class. Each class is $5.
