VORBEREITUNG EINSETZEN DER BATTERIEN Der Digitalkompass wird mit zwei CR2032 (3-Volt Knopfzellen) betrieben. 1. Lösen Sie die Schrauben vom Batteriefach mit einem Schraubendreher. Öffnen Sie das Batteriefach. 2. 3. 4. Setzen Sie die Batterien ein, Plus-Pol (+) nach oben. Schließen Sie das Batteriefach und setzen Sie die Schrauben ein. Bei Aufleuchten der Batterieanzeige oder wenn der Kompass sich abschaltet, müssen die Batterien ersetzt werden. WICHTIG: • Nicht den Kompass einschalten, bevor die Batterien eingesetzt sind und das Batteriefach geschlossen und angeschraubt wurde. • Knopfzellen dürfen nicht in die Reichweite von Kindern kommen. Verschlucken einer Knopfzelle kann lebensgefährliche Folgen haben. • Entsorgen Sie alte Batterien umweltgerecht über entspr. Sammelstellen. -6- • • • • • • Alte Batterien nicht verbrennen oder in den Hausmüll werfen. Benutzen Sie nur neue Batterien der richtigen Größe und des vom Hersteller empfohlenen Typs. Alte und neue Batterien nicht zusammen einsetzen, sowie nur Batterien der gleichen Sorte und Marke. Wenn Sie den Kompass längere Zeit nicht in Betrieb nehmen (1 Monat oder länger), die Batterien aus dem Gerät herausnehmen. Bei überalterten oder verbrauchten Batterien können chemische Flüssigkeiten aus den Batterien austreten, die elektronische Teile zerstören. Wenn die Batterieanzeige aufleuchtet, sind Displaybeleuchtung, Digitalkompass, Windanzeige und Temperaturfunktionen außer Betrieb gesetzt. Lediglich die Uhrzeit wird noch einige Zeit angezeigt, bis der Kompass sich ganz abschaltet. ANBRINGEN DES UMHÄNGEBANDES Führen Sie die kleine Schlaufe des Umhängebandes durch das Loch neben dem Batteriefach des Kompasses. Dann ziehen Sie die große Schlaufe des Umhängebandes durch die kleine Schlaufe und ziehen sie fest. Wichtig: Nichts in das kleinere Loch einbringen (Temperatursensor) neben dem Mikrofon, mit dem die Windgeschwindigkeit gemessen wird. ERSTES EINSCHALTEN Wenn Sie das Gerät zum ersten Mal in Betrieb nehmen (oder nach dem Einsetzen von neuen Batterien), schaltet sich der Kompass folgendermaßen ein: • alle LCD Anzeigen schalten sich für eine Sekunde ein • Displaybeleuchtung leuchtet für 3 Sekunden auf Wenn keine Taste gedrückt wird: • wird in der 2. Zeile die Uhrzeit 12:00 (Startzeit) angezeigt, in der 3. Zeile 00 und in der 1. Zeile die aktuelle Temperatur (z.B. 23°C). VORBEREITUNG Kalibrieren des Digitalkompasses 1. Im Stand-by Modus drücken Sie die BEARING Taste, um in den Kompassmodus zu gelangen (siehe Bedienungshinweise Digitalkompass Seite 11) 2. Drücken und halten sie die RESET/SET Taste. In der 1. Zeile des Displays erscheint "CAL" 3. Halten Sie den Kompass horizontal (mit der Display-Seite nach oben) und führen zwei volle Umdrehungen aus. 4. Drücken Sie die RESET/SET Taste einmal, um den Kalibrierungsmodus zu beenden. Wichtig: Um eine exakte Messung zu gewährleisten, halten Sie den Digitalkompass während der Kalibrierung und Gebrauchs weit entfernt von metallischen Gegenständen. Wenn "ERR" in der 1. Zeile des Displays erscheint, ist dies ein Zeichen, dass möglicherweise zu starke Magnetfelder in der Nähe sind oder dass Sie den Kompass nicht drehen. Ändern Sie den Standort und wiederholen Sie die Kalibrierung. Uhrzeit Einstellen 1. Im Stand-by Modus drücken und halten Sie die START/ STOP Taste. Das Set Clock Anzeigefeld erscheint, Sie sind im Uhrzeit-Einstellungsmodus. 2. Uhrzeiteinstellung beginnt mit der Sekundenanzeige (die Sekunden blinken) Drücken Sie die RESET/SET Taste einmal, um die Sekunden auf "00" zu stellen Drücken Sie START/STOP noch einmal, um die Minuten einzustellen (Minuten blinken). Durch drücken und loslassen der RESET/SET Taste geht die Anzeige eine Minute vorwärts. Drücken und halten der RESET/SET Taste bewirken einen schnelleren Ablauf der Minuten. Drücken Sie START/STOP noch einmal, um die Stunden einzustellen (die Stunden blinken) 3. 4. 5. 6. -8- 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. Durch drücken und loslassen der RESET/SET Taste geht die Anzeige eine Stunde vorwärts. Drücken und halten der RESET/SET Taste bewirken einen schnelleren Ablauf der Stunden. Drücken Sie START/STOP, um den 12/24 Std. Modus zu wählen. Drücken Sie RESET/SET, um zwischen dem 12 und 24 Std. Modus zu wechseln. Die 3. Zeile des Displays zeigt entweder 12 oder 24 an. Drücken Sie START/STOP einmal, um den Einstellmodus zu beenden. Die Einstellungen sind gesichert. Wenn 30 Sekunden lang keine Taste betätigt wird, geht das Gerät automatisch, ohne zu sichern, in den Stand-by Modus zurück. Alle Änderungen gehen verloren. Wichtig: Bei der Zeiteinstellung wechselt das Drücken der START/ STOP Taste die Felder wie folgt: Sekunden -> Minuten -> Stunden -> 12/24 Std. Modus -> Ende (zurück zum Stand-by Modus) Weckzeit Einstellen 1. Im Stand-by Modus drücken Sie die MODE Taste einmal. Hiermit gelangen Sie in den Änderungsmodus für die Weckzeit. Das Alarm-Feld leuchtet (wenn Sie vorher den Wecker ausschalten) oder blinkt (wenn der Wecker vorher nicht ausgeschaltet wurde). In der 1. Zeile des Displays erscheint "ALM" 2. Drücken Sie START/STOP einmal, um die Weckzeit-Einstellung zu aktivieren. Die Stunden blinken. Durch drücken und loslassen der RESET/SET Taste geht die Anzeige eine Stunde vorwärts. Drücken und halten der RESET/SET Taste bewirken einen schnelleren Ablauf der Stunden. Drücken Sie nun START/STOP noch einmal, um die Minuten einzustellen. Die Minuten fangen an zu blinken. Durch drücken und loslassen der RESET/SET Taste geht die Anzeige eine Minute vorwärts. Drücken und halten der RESET/SET Taste bewirken einen schnelleren Ablauf der Minuten. Drücken Sie START/STOP noch einmal, um zu sichern. Das Weckzeichen ist entweder an oder blinkt. Drücken und halten Sie die RESET/SET Taste um den Wecker ein- oder auszuschalten. Wenn länger als 30 Sekunden keine Taste betätigt wird, kehrt das Gerät automatisch in den Stand-by Modus zurück. (Um manuell in den Stand-by zu gelangen, drücken Sie die MODE Taste fünf mal). Temperaturanzeige Einstellen (°C oder °F) 1. Im Stand-by Modus drücken Sie die MODE Taste vier mal. Die Temperaturanzeige fängt an zu blinken. 2. Durch drücken und loslassen der Tast RESET/SET wechselt die Temperaturanzeige zwischen Celsius und Fahrenheit. Die letzte Einstellung wird gespeichert. Wenn 30 Sekunden lang keine Taste gedrückt wird, geht das Gerät zurück in den Stand-by Modus. Die letzte Einstellung wird gespeichert. (Um manuell in den Stand-by Modus zu gelangen, drücken Sie die MODE Taste zweimal). 3. Windgeschwindigkeitsanzeige Einstellen 1. Im Stand-by Modus drücken Sie die MODE Tast fünf mal. Die Windgeschwindigkeitsanzeige kmph fängt an zu blinken. 2. Durch drücken und loslassen der Taste RESET/SET wechselt die Windgeschwindigkeitsanzeige zwischen mph und kmph. Die letzte Einstellung wird gespeichert. Wenn 30 Sekunden lang keine Taste gedrückt wird, geht das Gerät automatisch zurück in den Stand-by Modus. (Um manuell in den Stand-by Modus zu gelangen, drücken Sie die MODE Taste einmal). 3. -10- T641-f_om_German_French_Eng.fm Page 11 Friday, November 28, 2003 5:04 PM BEDIENUNGSHINWEISE Dieser digitale Kompass verfügt über mehrere Funktionen, deren Bedienung im folgenden detailliert beschrieben wird. Digitalkompass Der digitale Kompass funktioniert genau wie ein normaler analoger Kompass. Er hat zwei Funktionsmöglichkeiten: 2. Die gemessene Peilung wird zwei Minuten lang in der 1. Zeile angezeigt. Wenn zwei Minuten lang keine Taste betätigt wird, kehrt das Gerät automatisch in den Stand-by Modus zurü ck. (b). Ständige Messung (Peilung wird kontinuierlich durchgeführt) 1. Drücken und halten Sie die BEARING Taste, Peilung und Position werden einmal pro Sekunde aktualisiert. 2. Wenn zwei Minuten lang keine Taste betätigt wird, kehrt das Gerät automatisch in den Stand-by Modus zurück. Anmerkung: Durch einmaliges Drücken der MODE Taste kehren Sie in den Stand-by Modus zurück. Windgeschwindigkeitsmessung Die Windgeschwindigkeit wird folgendermaßen gemessen: 1. Durch drücken und loslassen der WIND CHILL Taste im Stand-by Modus kommen Sie in den Modus für die Messung der Windgeschwindigkeit. 2. 3. 4. Warten Sie 11 Sekunden, nachdem Sie WIND CHILL gedrückt haben. Die gemessene Windgeschwindigkeit wird in der 2. Zeile des Displays angezeigt. (Die Temperatur wird ebenfalls angezeigt, in der 1. Zeile des Displays) Die Windgeschwindigkeit wird jede Sekunde aktualisiert. Das Gerät führt die Messungen zwei Minuten lang aus. Wenn bis dahin keine Taste betätigt wird, kehrt das Gerät automatisch in den Stand-by Modus zurück. -11- BEDIENUNGSHINWEISE (a). Einmalige Messung (führt nur eine einmalige Peilung durch) 1. Im Stand-by Modus drücken Sie die BEARING Taste einmal und warten zwei Sekunden. Die aktuelle Peilung und Position werden in der 1. und 2. Zeile des Displays angezeigt. Durch Drücken der WIND CHILL Taste während der Windgeschwindigkeitsmessung halten Sie die laufende Messung an. Die HOLD Anzeige leuchtet auf. Durch erneutes Drücken der WIND CHILL Taste wird die Messung wieder aktiviert. Die HOLD Anzeige erlischt. Wenn die Messung angehalten wurde und während zwei Minuten keine Taste betätigt wird, kehrt das Gerät automatisch in den Stand-by Modus zurück. Wenn die Windgeschwindigkeit weniger als 6 mph oder mehr als 30 mph beträgt, wird im Display entweder "LO" (sehr schwacher Wind) oder "HI" (sehr starker Wind) angezeigt. BEDIENUNGSHINWEISE Wind Chill Anzeige Die Wind Chill Funktion bewirkt eine Warnanzeige im Display, die anzeigt, dass die Wetterumstände (Wind und Temperatur) unter dem Normbereich liegen. 1. Die Wind Chill Messung ist aktiv, wenn die Windgeschwindigkeit gemessen wird. Die Wind Chill Temperatur wird einmal pro Sekunde gemessen. 2. Wenn der gemessene Wind Chill Faktor* unter -25°C (bzw. 13°F, wenn die Anzeige auf Fahrenheit geschaltet wurde) liegt, leucht die COLD Anzeige auf und einmal pro Sekunde ertönt ein kurzes Beep. Anmerkung: * Der Wind Chill Faktor ergibt sich aus einer Kombination aus Windgeschwindigkeit und Temperatur und ist vergleichbar mit dem Effekt, dass Temperaturen bei gleichzeitigem Wind als kälter empfunden werden. Temperaturanzeige 1. Während des Stand-by Modus wird die Temperatur angezeigt. Die aktuelle Temperatur wird in der 1. Zeile des Displays angezeigt und alle 30 Sekunden aktualisiert. 2. Die Temperatur kann entweder in Celsius (°C) oder Fahrenheit (°F) angezeigt werden. Um dies einzustellen, befolgen Sie bitte die Anweisungen unter "Temperaturanzeige Einstellen" auf Seite 10. -12- T641-f_om_German_French_Eng.fm Page 13 Friday, November 28, 2003 5:04 PM Uhr mit Weckfunktion 1. Während des Stand-by Modus wird die Uhrzeit angezeigt. Die aktuelle Uhrzeit wird in 2. und 3. Zeile des Displays angezeigt. Um die Zeit einzustellen, befolgen Sie bitte die Anweisungen unter "Uhrzeit Einstellen" auf Seite 8. 2. Die Uhr verfügt über Weckfunktion. Bitte schauen Sie unter "Weckzeit Einstellen" auf Seite 9, um die Weckzeit einzustellen. Wenn das Weckzeichen ertçnt, geht das Gerät zurück in den Stand-by Modus und das Weckzeichen ertönt zwei Minuten lang, wenn keine Taste betätigt wird. 3. 1. Im Stand-by Modus drücken Sie die MODE Taste zwei mal, um in den Stop-Uhr Modus zu gelangen. In der 1. Zeile des Displays erscheint das "STW" Zeichen. 2. Die STOP WATCH Anzeige leuchtet und in der 2. Zeile des Displays erscheint 00'00", sowie in der 3. Zeile 00. Durch drücken der START/STOP Taste starten Sie die Zeitmessung. Die STOP WATCH Anzeige blinkt. 4. Durch erneutes drücken der START/STOP Taste beenden oder halten Sie die Messung an. Die STOP WATCH Anzeige hört auf zu blinken. Durch weiteres drücken der START/ STOP Taste läuft die Zeitmessung weiter. 5. Wenn die Zeitmessung beendet ist, drücken Sie die RESET/ SET Taste einmalig, um die Zeit auf Null zu setzen und in den Stand-by Modus zurückzukehren. Anmerkung: Sie können durch einmaliges Drücken der MODE Taste aus jedem Status der obigen Zeitmessung herausgehen. 3. Rundenfunktion 1. Während der Zeitmessung (wenn die STOP WATCH Anzeige blinkt) können Sie durch einmaliges Drücken der RESET/SET Taste die angezeigte Zeit anhalten, um sie leichter lesen zu können. Die Stop-Uhr läuft jedoch weiter, ohne dass die angezeigte Zeit aktualisiert wird. Dies ist die Rundenfunktion. 2. Um die Rundenfunktion zu beenden, drücken Sie die RESET/SET Taste noch einmal um zur Zeitmessung zurückzukehren. Wenn die Rundenfunktion aktiviert ist, wird durch drücken der START/STOP Taste die im Hintergrund laufende Zeitmessung angehalten und die STOP Anzeige hört auf zu blinken. Um die gemessene Zeit zu sehen, drücken Sie die RESET/SET Taste einmal. Um die Zeit zurück auf Null zu stellen (mit STOP Anzeige), drücken Sie die RESET/SET Taste einmal. Count-Down Zähler BEDIENUNGSHINWEISE 1. Im Stand-by Modus drücken Sie die MODE Taste drei mal um in den Count-Down Modus zu gelangen. In der 1. Zeile des Displays erscheint die "TMR" Anzeige 2. Die Count-Down Anzeige leuchtet und in der 2. Zeile des Displays erscheint 99'00", sowie 99 in der 3. Zeile des Displays. Dies sind die Standardeinstellungen für den CountDown. Durch einmaliges drücken der START/STOP Taste startet der Count-Down. Die Count-Down-Anzeige blinkt. Drücken Sie die START/STOP Taste erneut, um den CountDown anzuhalten oder zu unterbrechen. Die STOP Anzeige hört auf zu blinken und leuchtet ständig. Durch einmaliges drücken der START/STOP Taste geht der Count-Down weiter. Wenn der Count-Down beendet ist, drücken Sie die RESET/ SET Taste um auf Null zurückzusetzen und in den Stand-by Modus zurückzukehren (Schritt Nr. 2). Wenn der Count-Down Zähler 00:00 erreicht, hält er automatisch an und es ertönt ein Alarmton von zwei Minuten. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Anmerkung: • Die Standard (und höchste) Count-Down Zeit ist 99 Minuten. • Um die Count-Down Zeit zu ändern (3. Zeile des Displays), drücken Sie die RESET/SET Taste einmal um die Zeit in jeweils 1-Minuten-Schritten zu verringern. Durch längeres Halten der RESET/SET Taste läuft die Zeitverringerung schneller. • Durch einmaliges Drücken der MODE Taste können Sie jederzeit aus dem obigen Modus herausgehen. -14- T641-f_om_German_French_Eng.fm Page 15 Friday, November 28, 2003 5:04 PM Suchlicht Eine kleine intensiv leuchtende blaue Leuchtdiode befindet sich an der unteren Spitze des Kompasses. 1. Durch Drücken und Halten der FLASH Taste schaltet sich das Suchlicht ein. 2. 3. Solange die FLASH Taste gedrückt wird, bleibt das Licht eingeschaltet. Wenn die FLASH Taste losgelassen wird, schaltet es sich wieder ab. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw from the battery compartment cover. Remove the cover. 5. Install the batteries, positive side (+) up. 6. Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screw. 7. When the low battery icon appears, or the compass stops operating properly, replace the batteries. NOTE • • • • • Do not operate your compass until batteries are properly installed and the battery cover is in place and secured. Keep button-cell batteries out of reach of children. Swallowing a button-cell battery can be fatal. Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn or bury batteries. Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type. -19- PREPARATION Before using the digital compass, you need to insert batteries into the unit. Also you may want to set up some of the features listed below for your particular application. If you do not plan to use the compass for a month or more, remove the batteries. Batteries can leak chemicals that can destroy electronic parts. When the low battery icon appears, the EL, Digital Compass, Temperature and Wind gauge function will be disabled. But the time will be shown in the display for some time until your compass stops operating properly. ATTACHING THE LANYARD Slide the lanyard’s small loop under the bar near the battery door of the compass. Then pull the lanyard’s large loop through the small loop and fasten it. Note: Do not insert anything to the smaller bar(temperature sensor) near the microphone which use for wind speed measurement. Power-up When first powered-up (or after replacing batteries), the compass will be turned ON in the following sequence: • all LCD segments ON for a second and • EL backlight ON for 3 seconds. Without any key pressed, • Time 12:00 (starting time) will be shown at the 2nd row, 00 will be shown at 3rd row, and current temperature (e.g. 23 °C) will be shown at 1st row in the display - this is in idle mode. • the EL backlight will turn OFF after 3 seconds. Note: • • When any operation key is pressed, the EL backlight will turn ON and it will automatically turned off after 3 seconds from the last key operation. Under idle mode, press BEARING button to enter into compass mode (see Operational Instruction - Digital Compass on page 23). 2. Press and hold RESET/SET button, the message “CAL” is shown in the 1st row of the display. Turn the compass horizontally (with display facing up) for 2 complete revolutions. Press RESET/SET button once to finish and exit the calibration mode. 3. 4. Note: For accurate measurement, please keep far away from metal during the calibration or use of the Digital Compass. If "ERR" is shown in the 1st row of display, this is a sign that there may be too much magnetic material nearby or you don’t turn the unit around. Move to another location and repeat calibration. Set Clock Time 1. Under idle mode, press and hold START/STOP button. The Clock Edit Mode will show by turning on Set Clock icon. 2. Clock time editing starts with "Second" decades first. The "second" digits will flash. Press RESET/SET button once to reset the second decade to "00". Press START/STOP again to select the "Minute" decade for editing - The Minute decade will flash. Press and release RESET/SET button once to count up 1 minute. Press and hold RESET/SET button to make Fast Minute count up. Press START/STOP again to select the "Hour" to edit - the Hour digits will flash. Press and release RESET/SET button once to count up 1 hour. Press and hold RESET/SET button will make Fast Hour count up. Press START/STOP again to select the 12/24 hour format. Press RESET/SET button to toggle between 12 and 24 hour format. The 3rd row of the display shows 12 or 24. Press START/STOP once to exit the edit mode. The Alarm icon is ON(If you enable Alarm function before.) or flashing(If you do not enable the Alarm function before). The 1st row of display shows "ALM" message. 2. Press START/STOP once to select Alarm Hour to edit. The Hour digits will flash. Press and release RESET/SET button once to count up 1 hour. Press and hold RESET/SET button will make Fast Hour count up. Press START/STOP again to select Alarm Minute to edit. The Minute digits will flash. Press and release the RESET/SET button once to count up 1 minute. Press and hold RESET/SET button will make Fast Minute count up automatically. Press START/STOP again to save, current Alarm icon is on or flashing. Press and hold RESET/SET button to toggle the enable/ disable Alarm. Press and release RESET/SET button to toggle the temperature reading from degree C to degree F (or from degree F to degree C) with saving current degree setting. If no button is pressed for 30 seconds, the unit will return to idle mode automatically with saving current degree setting.(To exit manually, press MODE button twice.) 3. 1. Under idle mode, press MODE button five times. The Set Wind Speed kmph icon will flash. 2. Press and release RESET/SET button to toggle the wind speed unit (and reading) from mph to kmph with saving current unit setting. If no button is pressed for 30 seconds, the unit will return to idle mode automatically. (To exit manually, press MODE button once.) 3. OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTION This digital compass has several built-in functions and the following sections describe the operation procedures in detail for each of these functions. Digital Compass The digital compass works similar to a normal analog compass. It has the two modes of operations: (a). One time reading mode (measures the head direction one time only) 1. Under idle mode, press BEARING button once and wait for two seconds. The current head point direction and bearing angle are shown at the 1st and 2nd rows of the display respectively. 2. The measured direction will be displayed on the first row of the display for two minutes. Continuous reading mode (continuously measures the head direction) 1. Press and hold BEARING button, the head direction and bearing angle will update every second. 2. If no button is pressed after two minutes, the unit will return to idle mode automatically. NOTE: Pressing MODE button once will return unit to idle mode. Wind Gauge OPERATIONAl INSTRUCTION The wind gauge measures the wind speed in the following ways: 1. Under idle mode, press and release WIND CHILL button once to enter Wind Speed measuring mode. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Wait for 11 seconds after pressing WIND CHILL. The measured wind speed will be displayed in the 2nd row of the display. (The temperature reading is also displayed in the 1st row of the display). The wind speed will be updated at every second. The unit will continuously sampling the wind speed for 2 minutes. If no button is pressed after two minutes, The unit will return to idle mode automatically. Under Wind Speed Mode, pressing and releasing MODE button once will return to idle mode. During wind speed measurement, press and release WIND CHILL button once to hold the current reading. The HOLD icon is turned ON. Press and release WIND CHILL button again to continue the measurement. The HOLD icon is turned OFF. Once the reading is held and if no button is pressed after two minutes, the unit will return to idle mode automatically. If wind speed is lower than 6mph or higher than 30mph, "LO" or "HI" will be shown respectively. Wind Chill The wind chill function generates a warning indication when the weather condition is below the default rating. 1. The Wind Chill measurement is ON during wind speed measurement. When the corresponding Wind Chill factor* falls below -13 (when temperature in °F) or -25 (when temperature in °C), the *COLD* icon will be displayed with a short reminder beep that is generated every second. Note: * Wind Chill factor depends on both wind speed and temperature. 1. The temperature reading is ON by default during idle mode. The current temperature will be shown on the 1st row of the display and will be continuously updated every 30 seconds. 2. There are two types of temperature display option: degree C and degree F. To select either option, please refer to "Set Temperature Display Option" on page 23. Clock with Alarm 1. The clock is ON by default during idle mode. The time is shown in the 2nd and 3rd rows of the display. To set the time, please refer to "Set Clock Time" on page 21. 2. The clock has an alarm function. Please refer to "Set Alarm Time" on page 22 to set up alarm time. When the clock alarms, the unit return to idle mode, without any key press, the alarm tone will last for about 2 minutes. 3. Stop Watch with Lap function 1. Under idle mode, press and release the MODE button twice to enter into Stop Watch mode. The 1st row of the LCD will show the "STW" message. 2. The STOP WATCH icon is ON and the display shows 00'00" on 2nd row and 00 on 3rd row. Press START/STOP button once to start the up-counting of the time. The STOP WATCH icon will flash. Press START/STOP button again to stop or pause the counting time. The STOP WATCH icon will stop flashing. Press START/STOP again to restart counting. In other mode, the Stop Watch/Lap Function icon will keep flashing once the Stop Watch/Lap function was enabled before. Lap Function OPERATIONAl INSTRUCTION 1. During the time counting(STOP WATCH icon is flashing), press RESET/SET button once to freeze the displayed counting for easy reading. The timing function is still running, but the display is not being updated. This is the Lap Function. 2. To exit from Lap function, press RESET/SET button again to return to normal time counting. The display will now show count activity. When Lap function is activated, pressing the START/STOP button will stop the background counting and the STOP icon will stop flashing. To read the stopped time, press and release the RESET/SET button once to display the stopped reading. To clear the reading (with STOP icon), press and release RESET/SET button once. 3. 4. Count Down Timer 1. Under idle mode, press MODE button three times to enter into Down Counter Mode. The 1st row of the display shows the "TMR" message. 2. The Down Counter icon is turned ON and the display will show 99'00" on the 2nd row and 99 on the 3rd row for the initial down count settings. Press and release START/STOP button once to start downcounting. The Down Counter icon is flashing . Press and release START/STOP button again to pause or stop the down-counting. The STOP icon will stop flashing and is steadily ON. Press and release START/STOP button again to resume the down-counting process. When the counting is stopped, press RESET/SET to clear the counting and return to stand-by (step 2). If count down timer reaches 00:00, it stops automatically and alerts with a 2 minute alarm tone. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. La boussole digitale fonctionne avec deux piles CR2032 (pile-bouton 3-volt). 1. Otez les visses du compartiment à piles à l'aide d'un tournevis. Ouvrez-le. 2. 3. 4. Installez les piles, pôle positiv (+) vers le haut. Fermez le et remettez les visses. Si l'affichage de pile s'allume ou la boussole s'éteint, il faut remplacer les piles. IMPORTANT: • • • • • Ne pas allumer la boussole avant l'installation des piles et fermeture du compartiment à piles. Ne jamais garder les piles à portée des enfants. Avaler une pile peut entraîner des conséquences grâves, voir mortelles. Ne jamais jeter les piles vides aux ordures ou dans la nature. Ne pas brûler les piles vides. Utilisez uniquement des piles du même type et de la même marque (standard ou alcaline). Si vous ne vous servez pas de la boussole pendant un mois ou plus, ôtez les piles de l'appareil. Il est possible occasionellement, que des liquides chimiques sortent des piles vieilles ou usagées, détruisant des parts électroniques. Lorsque les piles sont faibles et l'indicateur de piles s'allume, l'illumination de l'affichage, la boussole digitale, l'indicateur de vent et la température sont hors service. Uniquement l'heure continue à s'afficher pendant quelque temps, jusqu'à extinction complêt de l'appareil. INSTALLATION DE LA LANIÈRE DE COU PRÉPARATION Introduisez la petite boucle de la lanière de cou à travers l'embouchure près du compartiment à piles. Tirez ensuite la grosse boucle à travers la petite boucle et serrez-la. IMPORTANT: Ne rien introduire dans le petit creux (sonde de la température) à coté du microphone, qui sert à mésurer la vitesse du vent. PRÉMIÈRE UTILISATION: Lors de la prémière uitlisation de la boussole digitale (ou après remplacement des piles), la boussole s'allume de la façon suivante: • toutes les affichages LCD s'allument pendant une séconde • l'éclairage s'allume pour 3 sécondes Si aucune touche est activée: • la 2. ligne indique l'heure 12:00 (heure de départ), la 3. ligne indique 00 et la 1. ligne montre la température actuelle (par exemple 23°C). En mode veille appuyez sur la touche BEARING, afin d'aller en mode boussole (voir mode d'emploi Boussole digitale page no. 35) Appuyez et maintenez la touche RESET/SET. La 1. ligne de l'affichage indique "CAL" Tenez la boussole en position horizontale (affichage vers le haut) et effectuez deux tours complets. 4. Appuyez sur RESET/SET, afin de terminer le mode de calibration. Important: Afin d'assurer une mésure exacte, tenez la boussole à grande distance d'objets métalliques pendant la calibration et l'utilisation générale. Si la 1. ligne affiche "ERR", cela signifie qu'éventuellement des champs magnétiques trop forts sont à proximité ou que vous ne tournez pas la boussole. Changez d'endroit et répéter la calibration. Réglage de l'heure 1. En mode veille appuyez et maintenez la touche START/ STOP. "Set Clock" s'affiche, vous vous trouvez dans le mode du réglage d'heure. 2. Le réglage d'heure commence avec les sécondes (les sécondes clignotent). Appuyez sur RESET/SET une fois, afin de remettre les sécondes à "00". Appuyez sur START/STOP encore une fois, afin de régler les minutes (les minutes clignotent). Vous avancez une minute en appuyant sur RESET/SET. Afin d'écouler les minutes plus rapidement, maintenez la touche RESET/SET. Appuyez sur START/STOP de nouveau, afin de régler les heures (les heures clignotent). Vous avancez une heure en appuyant sur RESET/SET. Pour avancer les heures plus rapidement, maintenez la touche RESET/SET. Appuyer sur START/STOP pour entrer au mode 12/24h. Appuyez sur RESET/SET afin de changer entre le format 12 h ou 24h. La 3. ligne affiche soit 12 soit 24, selon votre choix. Appuyez sur START/STOP encore une fois, afin de terminer le mode réglage. Les réglages sont sauvegardés. Si pendant 30 sécondes aucune touche est activée, l'appareil retourne automatiquement au mode veille, sans sauvegarde. L'indicateur de la vitesse du vent kmph commence à clignoter. 2. En appuyant sur RESET/SET vous changez entre mph (miles/heure) et kmph (km/heure). Le dernier réglage sera sauvegardé. Si pendant plus de 30 sécondes aucune touche est activée, l'appareil retourne automatiquement au mode veille. (Afin de retourner manuellement au mode veille, appuyez sur la touche MODE une fois). 3. Boussole digitale La boussole digitale fonctionne exactement comme une boussole analogue. Elle dispose de deux possibilités de fonction: (a). Mésure unique (n'effectue qu'un seul sondage) 1. En mode veille vous appuyez sur la touche BEARING et attendez pendant deux sécondes. Le sondage actuel ainsi que votre position s'affichent dans la 1. et 2. ligne de l'affichage. 2. Le sondage mésuré s'affiche pendant deux minutes dans la 1. ligne. Mésure continuelle (effectue le sondage de façon répétitive) 1. Appuyez et maintenez la touche BEARING. Le sondage sera effectué une fois par séconde et la position sera actualisée. 2. Si pendant deux minutes aucune touche sera activée, l'appareil retourne automatiquement au mode veille. Note: En appuyant sur la touche MODE vous retournez au mode veille. Mésure de la vitesse du vent La vitesse du vent se mésure comme suit: 1. En appuyant en mode veille sur la touche WIND CHILL vous changez au mode de la vitesse du vent. 2. MODE D’EMPLOI 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Attendez 11 sécondes après avoir appuyé sur WIND CHILL. La vitesse du vent sera affichée dans la 2. ligne de l'affichage de votre boussole. (La température sera affichée également dans la 1. ligne de l'affichage). La vitesse du vent s'actualise une fois par séconde. L'appareil effectue les mésures pendant deux minutes. Si pendant ce temps aucune touche sera activée, l'appareil retourne automatiquement au mode veille. En appuyant sur la touche MODE vous retournerez manuellement au mode veille. En appuyant sur WIND CHILL pendant la mésure de la vitesse du vent vous pouvez interrompre la mésure. Le symbole HOLD s'allume. En appuyant de nouveau sur WIND CHILL vous réactivez la mésure. Si pendant l'interromption de la mésure aucune touche est activée pendant deux minutes, l'appareil retourne automatiquement au mode veille. Si la vitesse du vent mésure moins de 6 mph ou plus de 30 mph, l'affichage indique soit "LO" (vent très faible) ou "HI" (vent très fort). Wind Chill La fonction wind chill est un avertissement, que les conditions méteorologiques (le vent et la température) sont hors norme. 1. La fonction wind chill est activée lors de la mésure de la vitesse du vent. La boussole mésure la température wind chill une fois par séconde. 2. Si le facteur wind chill* se trouve en dessous de -25°C (resp. -13°F, si le format Fahrenheit a été choisi), le symbole COLD s'affiche et un bip sonore s'emet une fois par séconde. -36- T641-f_om_German_French_Eng.fm Page 37 Friday, November 28, 2003 5:04 PM Note: * Le facteur wind chill se calcule d'une combination de la vitesse du vent et la température et représente l'effet que le froid se resent plus fort, lorsqu'il y a du vent. Température 1. En mode veille la température est constamment affichée. La température actuelle s'affiche dans la 1. ligne et s'actualise toutes les 30 sécondes. 2. La température peut être indiquée en Celsius (°C) ou Fahrenheit (°F) (voir page 35 "réglage du thermomètre"). Horloge avec réveil 1. L'heure s'affiche constamment en mode veille. L'heure actuelle s'affiche en 1. et 2. ligne de l'affichage. Afin de régler l'heure voir page 33 "réglage de l'heure". 2. L'heure dispose d'une fonction réveil (voir page 34 "réglage du réveil" afin de régler l'heure du réveil). Lorsque la sonnerie se met en route, l'appareil retourne au mode veille et l'alarme sonne pendant deux minutes, si aucune touche est activée. 3. 1. En mode veille vous appuyez sur la touche MODE deux fois, afin de changer au mode chronomètre. La 2. ligne de l'affichage indique "STW" 2. Le symbole STOP WATCH s'allume. La 2. ligne affiche 00'00" et la 3. ligne 00. En appuyant sur START/STOP vous démarrer le chronométrage. Le symbole STOP WATCH clignote. En appuyant de nouveau sur START/STOP vous pouvez interrompre ou arrêter le chronométrage. Le symbole STOP WATCH arrète de clignoter. Pour continuer le chronométrage, vous appuyez de nouveau sur START/STOP. A la fin du chronométrage vous appuyez sur RESET/SET, afin de remettre le chronomètre à zero et de retourner au mode veille. 3. 4. 5. Pendant le chronométrage (symbole STOP WATCH clignotant) vous pouvez arrêter le temps mésuré en appuyant sur RESET/SET, afin de pouvoir la lire plus facilement. Le chronomètre cépendant continue à mésurer, sans actualiser le temps affiché. Ceci représente la fonction "tours". 2. Afin de terminer la fonction tours, appuyez sur RESET/SET encore une fois. Vous retournez au chronomètrage en cours. La fonction tours activée, l'appui sur START/STOP arrète le chronométrage en cours et le symbole STOP arrète de clignoter. Pour voir le temps mésuré appuyez sur RESET/SET. Appuyez sur RESET/SET, afin de remettre le chronomètre à zero (symbole STOP allumé) 3. 4. Compte-à-rebours MODE D’EMPLOI 1. En mode veille appuyez sur MODE trois fois afin de changer au mode compte-à-rebours. La 1. ligne affiche "TMR" . 2. L'affiche du compte-à-rebours s'allume et la 2. ligne affiche 99'00", ainsi que la 3. ligne 99. Ceci sont les donnés par défaut pour le compte-à-rebours. Vous démarrez le compte-à-rebours en appuyant sur START/STOP. Le symbole compte-à-rebours clignote. Appuyez sur START/STOP encore une fois, afin d'interrompre ou arréter le compte-à-rebours. Le symbole STOP arréte de clignoter et s'allume constamment. En appuyant de nouveau sur START/STOP vous redémarrez le compte-à-rebours. Lorsque le compte-à-rebours est terminé, vous appuyez sur RESET/SET afin de remettre le compteur à zero et de retourner au mode veille. (voir pos. 2.) Lorsque le compte-à-rebours atteint 00:00, il s'arrète automatiquement et emet un ton d'alarme pendant deux minutes. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Note: • • • Le temps maximum et par défaut est de 99 minutes.
