Additional Support and Disability Advice Centre Examination Support Pre-Configuring Dragon Voice Recognition Software 1 INTRODUCTION a) Transfer of Settings from Student’s Computer to University Computer When setting up Dragon for a new user any existing profile on that machine must to be removed before the student’s own settings can be imported and configured. Instructions for backing up and importing these settings from the student’s own computer are given below (sections 2 and 3). b) Configuring Microphone Settings In addition to configuring the student’s voice profile, the new computer must also be ‘trained’ to recognise the student’s microphone settings (see section 4). c) Timing This configuration exercise should be carried out and tested some days in advance of the examinations taking place to allow time for the resolution of any unforeseen difficulties (ASDAC can advise). The student should consequently bring in their microphone and Dragon backup file well before the examination date. 2 EXPORTING DRAGON SETTINGS (FROM STUDENT’S OWN COMPUTER) With Dragon open Click Profile menu Select Manage User Profiles...
