Before beginning this step, see the Row Expander PDU Installation Guide [220–240 V Countries] and the Symmetra RM [4–12 kVA N + 1 Redundant] Power Array User’s Manual for safety and hardwiring instructions.
A. For each row, route the power cord for each rack-mount PDU using the holes provided on either side at the bottom of an enclosure. Push the excess cord into the channels next to the rack-mount PDUs for a neater appearance.
A. In the Base Enclosure, plug each Row Expander PDU power cord into a UPS hardwiring PDU terminal block, as shown below.

In the Base Enclosure, set the UPS input circuit breaker (on front of UPS) and all of the UPS PDU circuit breakers to the ON position.

In each Row Expander Enclosure, set the Row Expander PDU output circuit breakers to the ON position.

Start up the UPS by turning it ON and powering up the load equipment. See the “Getting Started” procedures in the Operation section of the Symmetra RM [4–12 kVA N + 1 Redundant] Power Array User’s Manual. the “Language Setting” procedure in the Operation section of Symmetra RM [4–12 kVA N + 1 Redundant] Power Array User’s Manual.

If necessary, configure the rack-mount PDUs alarm threshold as outlined in the Power Distribution Unit (PDU) User’s Manual.

If your system includes Extended Run Cabinets, perform all procedures as outlined in the Symmetra Extended Run Cabinet Startup Guide.
G. Configure any management accessory cards and software.

Base Enclosure
Before beginning this step, see the Power Distribution Unit (PDU) User’s Manual for safety and installation instructions.

Install any optional equipment and accessories before installing the Extended Run Cabinet battery modules and the UPS battery and power modules. Visit APC’s website at www.apc.com for available PowerStruXure Type A accessories.
B.
If you plan to manage your system using the pre-installed Web/SNMP Management Card, connect the network cable now.
Problem NO power in ALL enclosures.

Batteries can be permanently damaged if installed in a system that is not being used. Store battery module(s) at an ambient temperature below 25 ºC (77 ºF). Two people are required to lift, move or install a battery module.

Ensure that Step 5 is properly completed.
NO power in multiple enclosures.
A UPS PDU circuit breaker is OFF.

The Row Expander PDU power cord is not connected to the UPS.
Ensure that Step 7 is properly completed.
NO power in an individual rackmount PDU or one enclosure.
The rack-mount PDU is not plugged into the outlet receptacle.
Ensure that Step 9 is properly completed.
A Row Expander PDU output circuit breaker or UPS PDU circuit breaker is OFF.
Ensure that Step 7 is properly completed.
Problem with an Extended Run Cabinet.
The Extended Run Cabinet is not properly connected.
See the “Troubleshooting” section in the Symmetra Extended Run Cabinet Startup Guide.
A circuit breaker trips repeatedly.
The circuit breaker is overloaded.
Redistribute the load, then ensure that the circuit breaker is turned ON.
PowerView Display not ON.
The PowerView Display unit is not connected to the UPS.
Ensure that Steps 12A and 12B are properly completed.
Fault LEDs or error messages.
There is a potential system fault or tripped alarm.
See “Troubleshooting” in the Operation section of the UPS user’s manual.

A complete daisy-chained 220–240 V circuit has a 15 A current availability.

¡ Each enclosure supports up to two rack-mount PDUs, one on each side. ¡ Each Base or Row Expander Enclosure contains receptacles to support up to four 220–240 V rackmount PDUs. They can be installed in any configuration which meets the need of your system.
